@cherryrosely18: No. Most VNs have to be imported from japan and will only work when MS Windows set in JP region. There was a translation patch that was being worked on but if I remember correctly the group got a C&D order from VisualArts.

Actually, the original had hentai, but they've made new versions with those cut out. It'd be harder to find the hentai version than the EVERYONE version.
Actually, there is a game called "Hourglass of Summer" that was a hentai dating sim for a console...Dreamcast or PS2, can't remember which. However, a PC version was released with all the hentai gone. So it is possible (though admittedly very rare) to get a no hentai hentai game =P

It sure does. Also, it's longer and that's one of reasons why I like it. In anime song must be cut down to 1:30 minutes, it's too bad especially if the song is good. And yes, Key's games sure have great plot. Not only Air, but for sure Clannad (I don't know if there is longer game from Key now) and even their first Kanon from 1999. I've seen both series of Kanon, and don't know how to play the game, so... I wish I knew how people played them if they don't speak the language.
Watch the second Kanon, Kanon 2006. It's twenty times better then the first, and plays out the plot better with better char. development.
Clannad was pretty good, but I just don't see why people go so wild for it. It was sickeningly unrealistic, which all games/anime tend to be, but it was just so... not going to really happen in the beginning.
Yeah, I heard that chara designer of second Kanon is Kazumi Ikeda, which was key animator in some eps of Air and shee designed characters for series Clannad. Althought almost all her works are with studio Kyoto Animation she's one of the animation directors in Pokemon. Speaking of Clannad, I think people go wild for it because it's actually the newest anime based on Key's works. A while ago Clannad : After Story ended and there's also DVD special where Tomoya chooses Kyou instead of Nagisa.
Since Key's games are pretty popular and well-selling it's only matter of time when they make another visual novel with setting in autumn, followed by Kanon in winter, Air in summer and Clannad in spring. I wonder if Kyoto Animation will make an anime version of Key's game Little Busters.. Have you played One~Kagayaku Kisetsu E~ ? It's by the people of Key when they were in company named Tactics. Althought it's not as sad as rest of their games it's also good. There's english patch for it.

Well, I'm also better at listening than reading (that kanji stuff will kill me someday). Game's pretty good, chara design is just excellent, so are backgrounds. You can see almost all details (on trees, ground, walls), graphic is masterpiece. Music in the background is also great, it perfectly fits the mood. Most often you can hear melancholic melodies played on piano. When you add all of this to each other you can see the whole greatness of Visual Novels.
Actually, Key and Visual Arts also have another non-hentai visual novel called Planetarian. There is an English translation for it.
Key also has another visual novel called Little Busters! It started out as a non-hentai game, but then they created Little Busters! Ecstasy or "Little Busters! EX" which added more routes to the game and includes hentai scenes.
I've been wondering, exactly where in the story do those scenes take place? It seems like it would upset the balance of everything and really just take the magic out of it. Is it the final scene or something? Any input would be appreciated.

My my, Air and Kanon ARE hentai games. Light, but they are. It's main focus is the story, but they scences were tacked on so it could see. Key saw how popular they were, and then went to make Clannad, their first clean game.
Kanon and Air both had All Ages editions realeased though.
its not translated to english and won't be... just go to key visual arts webpage and use a translator or something to figure out how to buy it if you want... dunno y u'd want it though it you can't read japanese
I doubt that an official English translation will come out, but some people have done fantranslations of the visual novel Clannad, made by the same people who made Air, so maybe it will be fantranslated sometime
I'm not sure, but since Clannad recently was turned into a movie and an anime series, maybe they decided to start with that? I'm not part of the translation group, so I have no idea XD
Air's awesome. It's kind of weird how in the original game (before the erotic content was removed) one of the goals was to get an "H Scene" that shows one of the three heroines (Kano, Minagi, or Misuzu) and Yukito ... well, I think we all get the point. ^_^' Hehe. Great anime. I want to play the game so badly. I know how to read Japanese and everything, but I don't know where to get the game.

The anime adaptation is good, but just not as good as the original game. (>x<)
On the other hand the movie is trash.^^; With completely different story line led by lame characters whose only similarities to the original are their names and looks. That one sure made a lot of Key lovers angry.
If you like either the game or the anime versions of Air, try not to get too excited when watching its movie adaptation. Personally, I regret watching that one...
not many people liked the H version of the game due to the story itself. Its a sad story and having sex in the game made no sense so the hentai had an opposite effect in that manner XD
all but one (i think) of key games are in the h-game genre as "ren'ai"
and on a personal note, i just got back from playing clannad, and man... key sure improved on the graphics (points to the tomoyo maata ~it's a wonderful life opening video)

Most of the earlier games such as these weren't very dynamic in the opening. But the Key games always have a plot that makes up for that.
But you have to admit, this opening, despite shit-tastic animation, fits the series millions of times better then the anime opening?

Clannad is the only game from Key that isn't hentai based and driven more on story.
But that doesn't mean Kanon and Air aren't story based as well.

All 3 are very story based imo, I'm thinking the fact Air and Kanon were H-games made people put them down a bit.

I'm still very depressed that this game has been out for a long time. And that no translators haven't had the chance to make the "English" version.

There is "H-scenes" (hentai) in Air, but it's an extremely small part of the game. You play the game for the story, not the "H".

Buena Visual Novel, excelentes personajes al igual que "Kanon" (1999) y "Clannad" (2001)

Air and Kanon are both in the process of being fantranslated. And the english patch for Clannad is almost done.

Air's awesome. It's kind of weird how in the original game (before the erotic content was removed) one of the goals was to get an "H Scene" that shows one of the three heroines (Kano, Minagi, or Misuzu) and Yukito ... well, I think we all get the point. ^_^' Hehe. Great anime. I want to play the game so badly. I know how to read Japanese and everything, but I don't know where to get the game.

i have the game... i foregot where it wuz... i think it wuz isohunt or something else but... type in air game and you'll KEY and then u download it... you'll see rar. this means you'll have 2 unrar it. then it will install. but... if ur computer doen's have japanese as the lanquge then it will show ???? anyway this game is FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

The anime adaptation is good, but just not as good as the original game. (>x<)
On the other hand the movie is trash.^^; With completely different story line led by lame characters whose only similarities to the original are their names and looks. That one sure made a lot of Key lovers angry.
If you like either the game or the anime versions of Air, try not to get too excited when watching its movie adaptation. Personally, I regret watching that one...

not many people liked the H version of the game due to the story itself. Its a sad story and having sex in the game made no sense so the hentai had an opposite effect in that manner XD

all but one (i think) of key games are in the h-game genre as "ren'ai"
and on a personal note, i just got back from playing clannad, and man... key sure improved on the graphics (points to the tomoyo maata ~it's a wonderful life opening video)

oh, an H-Game is a hentai game? Man, Air isn't hentai. This is also an anime, my favorite anime. XD I wish they could remake the air game and open it up in America, and with english voices. That would be awesome
