@wpfairbanks but you'll never develop a soccer culture so its pointless even talking about, soccer barely thrives in suburbia let alone inner city. you produce some pretty good soccer players even now, but the greatest soccer players are not necessarily the greatest ''athletes'' ie, pele 5ft 8, maradona 5ft5, zidane very slow etc this is something fundamental that americans just wont ever get imo and the rest of the world is cool with that.

I understand all the jabs the MLS, but if you look at the athletes the US produces, those who go into football, basketball, olympics, etc.., there is no doubt that we have world class athletes- especially those from the Intercity. If we can build a soccer culture in America, and have soccer as a way out of poverty, just as football and NBA is now, we could have world class soccer one day. It is simple truth.
