  • biafra still is one of the best most charismatic preachers ever. makin money with what one can do best ist no crime but pride!!!

  • are there 7 members in the dead kennedys now

  • It never would have occurred to me that Buzz could play Moon Over Marin so... authentically. =D

  • savage drummer!.

  • @VinceMincemeat That's Dale Crover, ain't it?

  • @YaWantTaters YES HE IS!!!!

  • 7 Pussys are shocking..

  • This video gave me vibes. Jello is amazing still.

  • In the current dark, smothering cesspool of DOUBLETHINK, only a few brief glimmers of light and show through. Cool, fruity, and great by the spoonful, it's JAY EE ELL ELL OH!!!!

  • fuck yes.

  • I actually voted Jello Biafra for Governor.

  • We could use an updated version of this song for the gulf coast.

  • @mitch222ful > you obviously know nothing about Mountain, Leslie, Melvins or Jello. go back to your Beiber worship, KOOK!

  • @Cortez423 - Can we not use the 'B' word, please - 'That Canadian Music Product' does the job, methinks.

  • John Lydon had the best view of Biafra when he said that he likes to over intellectualize things and speak higher than he needs to. In an almost inhuman way. I love Biafra's views, but he is completely on his own agenda. I don't completely agree with him, but his takes are nothing short of interesting. I'll never say that Biafra doesn't have what he think is in the public's best interest in mind. At the same time, even he has no idea what that really is.

  • @Malisyn I don't find any of his ideas or speech remotely "intellectual" ~ I think they're mostly "rhetorical" -- I like the guy; just an observation

  • @baiNEKO well we live in such an idiotic society that common sense has turned into intellectualism. It's not Biafra's faultbut at the same time don't underestimate the power that the Dead Kennedys had and have on kids who turn on to music that makes them think in social political terms.

  • jello got fat

  • Oh. No...

  • @003937 noone cares

  • jello... thank you love the music, love the message, gona pread it in Canada for ya

  • Pennywizzle6969: Jello wrote the lyrics to this song, not to mention almost every song the DK's ever released. To suggest he stole this song is tantamount to suggesting John Lydon stole "Pretty Vacant".

  • ...

  • ignorant

  • damn good! almost the same as teh dk album

  • SO cool!!!! this is the finest song from the DK´s catalog....

  • Oh i agree

  • Jello has done heaps of good stuff, but didn't he treat the rest of the DKs like crap?

  • i think they went against the beliefs of the band or some crazy shit like that! Jello didn't dig that shit!

  • Yeah they're all pro war and pro christian and shit. It's fucking weird. Jello never sold out and is actually a pretty chill guy. You can see him in SF a bit if you frequent record or thrift stores.

  • xlakebeachx-

Where do you get this pro war pro christian thing? They are firmly anti-war (according to their own website)

  • Dude, I saw them live in like 2004 and they kept spouting things like "God support our troops" and "They're fighing God's fight." and shit like that. It was really creepy and I was glad that I snuck in and didn't support them financially.

  • Guys, he's talking about the reformed Dead Kennedys, without Jello. Listen to any of Jellos spoken word preformances after 2001, because he mentions the Dead Kennedys and his former bandmates saying things like that. They even dedicated Holiday in Cambodia to the War In Iraq, and called Jello anti-american. The real Dead Kennedys are dead, support Jello Biafra & Guantanamo School Of Medicine.

  • @xlakebeachx My dad's best friend lives next to original drummer. I had no idea they are like that now. I am really disappointed...

  • not as good as DK. Jello, you need to come back

  • There's something about Jello's performances that remind me of Jack Nicholson, especially now that he's......ahem......a little larger.

  • jello & the melvins...

    what more is there?

  • I love how "China Grove" by the goddamn Doobie Brothers comes blaring out of the house PA as soon as the band cuts and runs........oh, the irony!

  • Biafra still is it.....Long live the greatest punk band EVER to grace music (with the excption of the who of corse) THE DK

  • jello still has it

  • Agree 200 %

  • Has. But he needs some gym :)

  • rofl... ;-)

  • Guys, stop going over New DK. They still care about politics, they're just not as outspoken as Jello. Both the Jello group and the new DK are great ways to experience DK music live. If they'll ever organize again. New DK's last concert they were saying might be their last and Jello and the Melvins haven't done anything for a while.

  • Comment removed

  • The Jelvins have recorded two albums in two years while the fake kennedys haven't done anything except for selling songs to american idol, tony hawk, guitar hero and so on...

  • @sragler Jelvins! lol

  • @sragler don't forget levi strauss commercial XD

  • jello might still have it but that crowd looks pretty lame

  • Holy Crap!!! He's built like me. He is still really great. At least it's better than the new DK.

  • jello biafra is now 50, will be 51 on june 17 2009, and boy is he fat..........but he is still my hero!!

  • He may be older, but he's still got it.

  • why do people try to campare two styles of music......? you all need a life.... who cares? Besides most people don't know who the melvins are.

  • And that's the way they like it.

That way there are less ignorant fuckers to moan about them being 'generic' i.e. Shredderific.

  • Dead Kennedys without Jello's voice, satirical lyrics and madness?

    It's like fire without oxygen!!

  • somebody needs to put a bullet in your head little boy.... although he'd probably be pissed that somebody wanted to tell somebody off for hating him.... ... i would still stomp your little ass if I could find it.

  • That drummer is garbage. I saw the DK's play this song at the Farm in '84 when I was fourteen, King Buzzard isn't bad on guitar though

  • Thats Dales style, to crush the drums rather than play them.

  • jelvins!

  • Jello's still got it. Old or not. That looney, smart man knows how to act on stage. He still does all him live stage movements as he did back in the 80's.

  • completely out of your fucking mind. I guarantee all the talent-starved little fuckheads commenting here have not heard 10% of the Melvins' material.

  • Er, awful musicians?Check out A History of Bad Men and tell me they are bad. If their awful musicians how did they manage to put out over 20 albums? Not to mention the many styles they play:grunge, sludge metal, doom metal, drone metal, hardcore punk, experimental... Melvins are aside Black Sabbath Led Zeppelin and Metallica the most influential metal band of all time.

  • It's not that I don't like the Melvins. They are fun to listen to, but there is noooo way I'd put them aside Black Sabbath. You can't use sheer volume of albums to justify a good band. I'm sure Britney Spears will have around that many albums by the end of her career. Does that mean she is an incredible musician???

  • Well, but a huge amount of albums can sometimes mean that they are hugely influential. It just means that more and more people are recongnizing them, that their followers are always staying true to the band...

  • Without the Melvins, there would have been no Nirvana, and so basically no real grunge movement.

  • People put them lower on the list when they are in their "everything must be technical to be excellent" stage of musical-awareness development. The Melvins can flat out play, but they play so that they can write songs. I can't speak for them but, it definitely isn't a sport to them. I love listening to some Malmsteen songs, and especially Rusty Cooley. However, not every band has to display their immense technical ability to be good or great.

Id call the Melvins a lot more influential than most

  • There is nothing unoriginal or generic about them. They are one of the most original bands ever, really. I mean they changed styles from album to album. How many other bands do you need to listen to 5 albums (you can enjoy them just with one but, still) to get the entire scope of who they are? Yeah, the sheer number of albums doesn't mean all that much, but they're all good and different styles.

You just gotta think through what music really is. Expression.

  • This song is great. Can you suggest 3 albums or so worth checking out???

  • The one in this video isn't amazing at all, but still. 3 may not be enough but, I would go with their two latest (Nude With Boots and (A) Senile Animal as well as...I don't know there are too many to pick. Ozma, Hostile ambient takeover, and Stag are all great in my opinion. Stoner Witch and Houdini are cool. I am using simplistic adjectives because really it isn't like I can actually post reviews for each album here in this one little messages.

  • Shredderiffic, If you are looking for DKs albums, Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, In God We Trust Inc. and Plastic Surgery Disasters are all great. FrankenChrist is decent. EPs that are good too like Too Drunk to Fuck, etc.

Also Try: Saccharine Trust: We Became Snakes, Ed Geins Car (if you can find it) , early Black Flag, James White and The Blacks (goes by James Chance and other names too), and Richard Hell to name a few that you might like. Good luck and take care

  • @keymaster2 just not the 70s he calmed down in the 80s

  • @keymaster2 he's good no matter our age

  • There is a really great video interview of the Melvins at serenedominic. com

  • Thanx for uploading this, man!

    Jello is fucking great

  • he is

  • so cool!!! msg me!

    awesome vid hD

  • Buzz's guitar tone and sound are out of this world! He, Adam Jones from Tool and Justin Broadrick are true guitar sound pioneers

  • They are one of the few bands that can truly improvise a complete show and never repeat it again. I'm not talking about some jam band version of a song they have played 16,000 times last year alone, completely on the spot and not previoulsy recorded anywhere, that's fucking talent.

  • jello genius ajaja

  • Amen to that!!! I've seen the Melvins several times over the years and they are rock and roll period!!! King b signed a pack of cigarettes for me once outside a club(after rocking my face off that is) I have massive respect for those guys and you should too.

  • Yeah, I saw Jello Biafra and The melvins live in Vancouver a few years ago...The melvins were amazing, Jello was..well Jello...and the openning band was DOA...Pretty cool.

  • LOL.. I gotta laugh when I see adolescent snots posting crap like "but he looks old," or whatever. Listen up, kids: one day... a lot sooner than you would believe... you're gonna be older, too. The difference between you and Jello is that most of you will still be complacent and clueless pussies. Well, Jello was never a pussy.

Rock on, Jello and as for the Melvins... they're simply as good as it gets.

  • Thanks for posting this

Hey we all get old and fat but its no excuse to give up like most of u young mericans

  • this rocks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jello by name Jello by body,

  • tha Jelvinz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's one crazy mofo... and I love it!

  • Jello is my hero

  • Buzz's hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

  • OMg : Jello looks so old and fat... But still got a great voice

  • I think he looks cool just the way he is.

  • That's the point. Correct me if i'm wrong but don't most lead singers these days just stand there static with their eyes shut? At a live show, I'd prefer to see Jello and the his new band than people like Radiohead or Coldplay. Jello is the only person I've seen stage diving recently apart from Jack Black on 'School of Rock'. The interaction with the crowd works wonders, the people don't feel seperated from the band. It's Entertainment. It's Jello's bag. It's cool.

  • what a track. nowadays music lacks of knowledge in lyrics and melody. This song made history IMHO...

  • Anyone happen to know if this show was in Northampton, Massachusetts a couple years ago? I saw them there at that time and think this might be the show I was at.

  • It's the best song DK have ever written and this performance is really cool.

  • He always acts wierd on stage.

  • But its entertaining isn't it? Thats what a concert is about, its supposed to be amusing and entertaining for people. Would you rather him just stand there and sing? (Murderermarv)

  • How weird would it be if he didn't act like that singing the way he does though? :P

  • He kinda does if you've ever seen him on a spoken word tour.

Fuck Klaus, East Bay Ray, and the rest of the "DK Kennedys" cover band. Ain't shit without Jello.

  • @villain304 Sad though East Bay Ray is the one who wrote all that kickass guitar. Am I correct?

  • @CatGameDaiyE 6025 was there at the start

  • @jhonwanegasey But East Bay Ray was always the main guy wasn't he?

  • @CatGameDaiyE yes in fact he started the band dead kennedys

  • i wanna go to an ipecac new years party..

  • Killerganz, even though you amuse me, and have good comebacks (I'm not being sarcastic...Some of them were good ones haha) Jello Biafra is not a peice of shit.

  • jello biafra and the melvins wohoo

  • Jello is a piece of shit who dicked over his band mates.

  • are you high, or incredibly stupid?

  • Incredibly up and in your Moms asss Son.

  • wow, so mature...you amaze me with your intelligence

  • Sonndgrunging your Moms ass Son.

  • and yet, you continue to amaze me with your fancy intelectual humour. you should consider standup comedy, you'll be a hit!

  • Like I "hit" on your Moms ass Son.

  • so the signal you're trying to send is that you're definetly not high...

  • High on your Moms sweet fat ass, Son.

  • is this the best you got?:))

  • I had what your Mom got , Son.

  • please, continue

  • even legends are allowed to get fat - anyway he's American so I don't think he can really avoid it

  • you are too fat now bastard

  • Poor Jello, he's too fat now, catch your breath man.

  • nice surprise to see on youtube.

  • apologia a la parrillá!!!!ajaj

  • It's nice that Jello and The Melvins decided to go off the beaten path and play a lesser known but memorable DK track. "Moon Over Marin" is one of my faves off the "Plastic Surgery Disasters" recording. It's DK's only laidback, reflective song.

  • Idiot, Moon over Marin was consderd their last decent song.

  • by who? they had a lot of awesome songs.

to manilasyndicate: all of their songs were reflective, it's not like this broke the streak of songs about fuckin' chicks and snorting coke.

  • last decent song? ever heard the Frankenchrist album??? the guitar work on that one is AMAZING.

  • @villain304 Damn right!

  • yeah! moon! but i think les thugs version sounded better. holy crap did i hear a doobies cover after that? anyone?

  • Sick Sick Sick Sick!!!!!!

  • dk is the best punk band ever

  • whats wrong with fuckin NA man? negative approach is better than dk or anything tesco vee was in.

  • Here it depends on "music flavour". For me, N A doesn't sound that good to me. :P

  • jlamour is the man. And very correct.

  • Victim's Family version is the best. HOWEVER, the Melvins are the greatest band ever.

  • What about the original?

  • It's ok. Of course DK/Jello did write so they deserve the most credit for a great song.

  • les thugs from virus 100 is me favorite. melvins rule tho

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE

  • fat jello is so funny because he sings and dances just like young skinny jello

  • except hes jolly

  • He isn't even fat anymore he's lost weight :) and who cares anyway? Wesley Willis was fat, still creative as everyone on you tube put together, Snorlax was fat but a great pokemon, so why all the garbage :) LONG LIVE JELLO AND PLEASE COME TO WALES!

  • XD! The way you worded that was priceless. And I agree, Jello= awesome!

  • jello eternal props for hooking up with the melvins.

  • The melvins are weird...good band, though.

  • Long live Jello

  • He looks even more hilarious prancing around the stage now that he's that big.

  • America is obsessed with what other people think about us. Who cares? So he's put on some weight. None of us are as skinny as we were twenty years ago, unless you're a complete junkie. Don't worry, I have a lot of respect for Iggy. Hell, he's the original punk! But honestly, get over it. We all tend to gain weight as we age because we just aren't able to do what we used to. As long as we can get out to shows, get in the pit, and have a blast, we're still doing what we love best.

  • dude who cares how big he is! he's fucking jello biafra! (fuck the new dead kennedys, they suck w/out jello)

  • you can't say fck them mtf

  • for anyone who says he is fat who gives a shit. our society is so obsessed with appearance...maybe if you listen to what he has to say you'll learn something.

  • His voice hasn't changed at all, and honestly- who gives 2 shits about how fat he is?

  • Wtf about all you talkin about how he put on weight that was 25+ years ago and this was 4 years ago he could have lost weight.. but still who gives a fuck its great music with such great talent Jello still has the fucking voice! =]

  • Yeah, Jello still sounds good but why must all old rockers get fat? save Iggy.................

  • iggy is thin because of shitloads of drugs

  • Yeah i have to agree, Jello should still find time to exercice hehe. I still like Jello but over time i find hes a bit too arrogant and old tunes like "your emotions" plainly suck. We cant all have left-wing parents who get you conscientized at such a young age like he had. He still was ripping fascist america a new one though and for that, i love him!

  • We're gettin old, but they ROCK god bless them for bringin it on! and bringing it at all. thanks!

  • Awesome shit. Les Thugs did such a good cover of this song though, it's hard to listen to Jello, but I still love the man.

  • all you cunts who think bein over 40 and fat is some sort o crime just shut the fuck up...the man has a god givin talent like Mensi from the Upstarts or peter from the testube babies theyre over 40 & fat as fuck but they still kick arse when they play...i'm an old Punk over 40 but aint fat but i don't belittle talent no matter what shape or form...except for Wattie from the exploited who is a talentless little fat wanker!!nuff said

  • haha people makin fun of weight. i smell a jock.

  • fat jokes are for scrawny nerds........if jello wants to dine on charbroiled nuns, then so be it !

    a voice so great!!

  • Someone shoulda had the balls to sing this song at Live Earth

  • what's it to ya? the guy is a major talent.when it comes to giving the u.s. a bitch slap,he is the man for the job.

but i guess he could switch to sugar free jello, i did.

  • man if jello lost like 25 lbs it would be like the old days. i hope he's not givin mickey disease any money. hey jello, just eat fruits and vegetables and you won't be such a barrel ass!

  • Man, I love Jello and DK as much as the next hardcore fan, but he just looks like someones dad now.

  • Jello gained some weight but who gives a fuck he still kicks ass

  • looks lke jello turned in to what he hates. middle america.

  • Eat a bullet.

  • ya no va sin camiseta xD

jello biafra me recuerda a Ben, el gordo bailarin de Windows

    DK manden

  • jellos weird!

  • get in there grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
