  • There are a lot of stupid people about. What's so hard to understand about this? It's all explained in the little black and white scenarios. Just pay attention and you'll get there

  • Chamberlain was great in Shogun. He still has charisma

  • i tip my hat to this man

  • Mmm, what if theyd just taken the checks with them. Their prints were on them and they might be used as evidence against them. But what ever.

  • There really is something about Hustle its not the funniest thing on tv and its not the most dramatic its totally unrealistic(it does have a fantastic cast, perhaps the best on tv) and yet i love it, quite gutted its finishing, hope they come back with a special or two and get the respect they deserve especialy from the critics. . . .

  • @dixon97a Not always unrealistic the con were both people but a fiver in and then the target pays you 6 quid u make 1 pound profit works ive made a few bob with it lol :)

  • too obvious thats dumb

  • 5 years at economy university it doesn't help understand how really goes the real market ..

  • bloody hell, how do you top this one. Would have kept it for the series finale

  • -Last but not least, the next trading session, Mickey and his crew basically had complete control over the share price because they held all 100 percent. When they put the shares back on the market for sale, they set the price high.

-A short seller must cover his position by buying back all the shares he had sold which is why the greedy bankers had no choice but to pay out to the con artists.

Whew! Hope people understand now lol

  • @asianmacker i think a lot of people got confused by the whole double bluff double bluff thing, i understand it but thats the most confusing part

  • As I was saying before:

-However, the bankers decided to do something referred to as ''naked short selling'' which is basically going short on a stock by selling imaginary shares.

-The con artists knew they were going to do all this and decided to buy up all the fake shares at the market prices being offered which were dirt cheap. By the end, they held all 100 percent of the shares and therefore had total control over the price.

    To be continued again......

  • For the people who are confused about this episode:

-They set up a fake oil company and got a bank to help them go public on the stock market.

-The bankers were greedy and decided to work both ends of this deal by going ''long'' and ''short''. Going long is what most people know as typical stock buying; you buy a stock and hope it goes higher in value then sell. Going short is the complete opposite; you bet against a stock and if it goes lower, you profit.

    To be continued......

  • oh god. thats scary

  • I quite liked that! Even though I found the financial side of it mildly confusing... If a series five(?) episode is to be relied upon, didn't Danny and Ash being short-conned by JW3 at the beginning spell bad luck?

Thanks as ever for the upload!

  • why would they leave the checks behind? I'd keep them as souvenirs even if I couldn't cash them. not that I wouldn't try to cash at least one of them just to make sure that I really couldn't.

  • Wait...so that guy with the glass eye was the same guy from a hundred years ago? What? I'm so confused!!!! (still fun to watch though, thanks person who uploaded this, u rock!!)

  • Comment removed

  • agreed

  • very good
