  • regardless of my feelings about michael, I agree with him on this issue. The banks are criminal institutions, If they are not required to follow the letter of the law, why the hell should we. Some mortgages were sold to multiple investors, with multi levels of insurance. a 100K mortgage might generate 10 million in payments. They WANTED bad loans. Yeah, there's some undeserving dead beats out there, get em out, their crimes pale in comparison to the financial sector.

  • I sold manufactured homes. One client paid cash for her home. The day after it closed escrow she received a call from a loan department thanking her for taking out a loan on her home. She went ballistic, thinking someone had stolen her money and turned this into a loan. I researched it & and found that she had paid for her home. SO, who was able to use this transaction to appear as a loan? The caller read to me off the loan doc so I know it existed. WHY?

  • The people who got rich slicing and dicing these mortgages should have their assets frozen until this shakes out.

  • @JEFF9K This is so true..about 6 yrs ago wells fargo started screwing with our morgage..f-ing with us ...we went from 285 a mo to 565 a mo..on a 30 yr after paying for 10 yrs.had us in a panic lucky we were able to find another lender & keep it around 310...long story longer...my mom passed with cancer & left me enough to pay off my house after a 15 yr morgage.but my $39K old farm home cost me around $96 k all said & done BUT my 3 acres &1917-22 farmette is ALL ours>>f-u big banks & wall street

  • @JEFF9K Freezing their assests! Great solution. What amazes me is that the average guy on the street has perfect, common sense, solutions to these problems and yet rich, intelligent politicians can never solve them, or find the bad guy & lock him up. Seems like they are all on one side and we are on the other and out of luck!

  • Refuse to leave...yes! Absolutely, plus there is so great a glut on the market of these foreclosed homes, that the banks actually would rather have you stay, well that is if you have been keeping good care of the home, and or...my guess it is in a good, higher priced neighborhood.

I inherited a house of a friend who took his life. It took me 6 months to to become the executor, going it alone with the help of a group called For The People. The bank owns it now, and it's been 22 months.

  • @Elin48 >>>>> sorry to read this about your friend...& the red tape your caught up in

  • I know people who are living in the house for 3 years with no payments for mortgage or taxes or home insurance . so why should I pay my mort. taxes and insurance.

  • @swami24u why? because it's the right thing to do. Just because our whole system is currently built on misinformation, power to the super rich, corporations and Wall Street, doesn't mean that you should also have less integrity.

  • Hell Yes!!! I still remember the "moral hazard bull shit!" I think some of these bankers are a moral hazard by their mere existence. We should of just called all the ARM mortgages payed off as a penalty for the worthless investors and bankers that shouldn't have a part, they don't do anything. We should all send them out to sea on rafts with basic rations and shoot them if they come back.___END FOF RANT

  • Yes, refuse to leave AND put a homemade 250BOYCOTT sign up and gain the backing force of a growing movement o PERMANENTLY ban home rents/mortgages, worldwide. Our homes are SACRED to us. We can declare our own sovereignty by claiming ourhomes as holy ground & claiming sanctuary in them. That's what the 250BOYCOTT is about, taking back our homes & getting the bloodsucking-politi-corporate-bankster greedicts off our necks & off our blood! It's time to take back our homes! 250BOYCOTT NOW!

  • Hmm interesting

  • My parents told me the bank still has all their paper work. Then again they aren't being screwed in mortgage payments. If you are screwed I suggest hiring a lawyer immediately and seeing if they still legally own your house. If they threaten to kick you out for not being able to pay, stand your ground! You have nothing left to lose!

  • Michael Moore is a true American patriot and my hero.

  • superb message superb post

  • Take his advice folks. Refuse to leave. And be prepared to go to jail because you will. Like it or not you sign a agreement but I wonder how many of you used a lawyer when you did. I bet many didn't.

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE

how could you possibly go to jail because of this? i mean, they dont have the documents that are necessary to show that ownership of the house actually changed and that they can now kick you out. so they cannot win in court. for you to go to jail because of refusing to leave your home would require them to win that case.

so what are you talking about? refusing to leave will in many cases allow you to keep your house. people are doing it, it works.

  • @kurtilein3 If they foreclose on your house you have to leave. You don't know what you're talking about.

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE yes when the courts order it after it's been shown you are in default and the bank now has ownership.

But banks arent' waiting for that little nicety. IF they can get you to believe they have the right to throw you out whenever they say, they will.

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE No, you don't have to leave. You do need to get an attorney who knows the real law, not the made up BS that is being to bilk you now. In due process of the law, the bank MUST show your original title to your home, to show they own it now. But when you took out your mortgage they bundled yours with 1,000's of others and sold the paper to China, who is now the title holder. They can't admit they did this & can't produce the title in court. SEE? Until they do, sit tight.

  • @Tones4me1 The bank will have that. Moore is a complete idiot. Every bank invest the money that is given to them by house buyers. But they do in fact have the mortgage paper to your home. A lawyer will in fact tell you just that. Moore continues to show how stupid he really is.

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE You my friend are wrong. But it is nice of you to go along with their story. This way when they come for your home you will willingly box up your things and be gone before the sheriff arrives, like a good boy or girl. You have no idea what is happening to your life. Please purchase any dictionary of your choice. Then buy a Black's Law Dictionary. Look up the word PERSON. They should be defined the same, yes? But they aren't. Just the tip of the iceburg heading for you.

  • @Tones4me1 No, Michael Moore is wrong, again.

  • @kurtilein3 Yes they do. The bank doesn't sell your deed or title. They invest the money that you give them.

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE The titles to our homes are also used as collateral on the loans that we borrow from China. As is our National Parklands and bridges. Isn't it ironic that our politicians sold us out by shipping our jobs to China, which made them so rich that they now loan us money because we have none. The only ones who won here are the politicians who got a kick back for voting for shipping out the jobs. And yes, they bundles up the mortgage titles & sold them. Know your facts.

  • @Tones4me1 Bill Clinton signed NAFTA. He's a democrat . Blame him for the jobs being shipped to China.

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE Gee, Bill is powerful. One signature did it all? How about listing the names of those who voted for it in Congress & those who didn't. The big pix here is that all politicians are on the same side, no matter what party they belong to. It is them against us. Nothing more or less to it.

  • @Tones4me1 When NAFTA was signed into Law Democrats controled the house senate and Clinton was President

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE You still don't get it do you? Now do your home work & look up the names of those who voted for NAFTA. If you are trying to say that only Dems voted for it and that all Republicans voted against then I think you are on thin ice. You can't REALLY believe that, can you?

  • @Tones4me1 No but Clinton could have not signed it into law. Ross Perot warned us about what would happen but both Clinton and Gore wanted it. So don't blame Republicans for what's going on now.

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE Perot was a real patriot, not a washington insider like the rest of the republicans, and democrats who are entrenched there. Likely he was warned by the goon squad, they probably threatened to wipe out his family if he did'nt drop out. They are ALL theives, and will never allow anyone in office that will honestly represent americans, or uphold the constitution. Am I a tin hatter? yep, guilty as charged. prove me wrong

  • @Tones4me1 Another thing. Moore wanted us to vote for Obama. They attacked Bush for spying on us listening in to phone calls etc. Fact is Obama wants more power to do this. Look it up. In the last week he has asked for more federal power to spy on internet users with no justification at all.

  • see MOORE video called ( GM CULTURE ATTACK ) moore a phoney

he support this video that show assault on children and woman infront

    of a GENERAL MOTORS dealerships

    or ( NAACP DECEPTION )

  • from what he has said here we have every reason to believe that he is advocating VIOLENT DISOBEDIENCE!!

  • @tonybonez Where did Moore talk about that in the excerpt?

  • @Makron5

it seemed to me like he was saying to refuse to leave their homes even if they have not payed.

The only way to stay when the police come to throw you out is---what---you tell me..

  • @tonybonez

get activists to help you. if you protect someone elses house for a day, in your area, and do it repeatedly, you will have the connections you need to have a bunch of people protect your house for a day. also, if the bank doesnt have the necessary documentation to win this in court, which is true for the vast majority of these foreclosures, why shouldnt the police help you protect your house against those bank peoples legally unjustified attempts to get you out?

  • @kurtilein3

get activists to help you. if you protect someone elses house for a day, in your area, and do it repeatedly, you will have the connections you need to have a bunch of people protect your house for a day.

that did not sound like what Mr. Moore was saying---IMO

  • @tonybonez no it didn't - but it was a very short clip. Moore would probably support the activist route.

  • @tonybonez

not in this 55 second clip. in interviews, he does talk about activists organizing and helping each other to find strategies to defy and resist these foreclosures. im showing one way Moore could have answered the follow-up question "what do you mean by staying in your house?".

  • @kurtilein3 Yes, this strategy has worked (think of squatters in Europe), and you cannot do it alone. The police will come + throw you out, board up the house etc. Then activists move in, and the thing repeats itself endlessly. The police dept in many municipalities are broke + don't have time for this shit. They won't actively protect you, though. More than likely, they will eventually turn a blind eye.

  • @55ella2007k

im following this closely since the economic crisis started, but im not living in the united states, so... is it actually the police that comes to throw you out of your house? if the banks really dont have the necessary legal documentation, then they also should not have what is necessary to cause the police to act, they dont have a case.

  • @kurtilein3 They send the Sheriff or Marshall to throw you out. You need an injunction to stop them. You will need an attorney who understands that the bank needs to show the original title to lay claim. They can't do this because they bundled the loans & sold them to China. They can't admit they did this & China won't give them back for the day to take to court. We do have rights, you just need to know what they are.

  • @kurtilein3 Yes, if you refuse to leave the house upon an eviction order (signed by a judge), then either the local municipal police or the sheriff's dept. will show up at your front door and physically remove you and your belongings. They will not arrest you, but they will throw you out after they have given you 3-days notice. Most people leave before this happens.

  • @tonybonez Go to court about it. Keep delaying it, do whatever you can, going to court and trying to stop them there. There SHOULD be a guide on Michael Moore's website or something to help people through the legal process and what to do. I'd love to see normal people learning a little legal work to fight these asshole bankers.

  • @Makron5 Go to court and remind the judge that they need to show the original title, no title, no judgment. Either hire an attorney familiar with this process & is willing to buck the system or do your own research and make copies of the due process.

  • @tonybonez You are a idiot. You also enjoy being ripped off, so it would seem.

  • @lmcdowall

why would u think i like being ripped off

    why am i am idiot??

I mean it does sound like Mr. Moore is saying to refuse to leave your home even if you are not making payments on it..

  • @tonybonez In many cases the banks are now even refusing partial payments, with people who actually trying...

  • @tonybonez The loans that these people are defaulting are were not legal...it's fraud about 75% of these lenders belong in jail. I would not leave my home either. Lucky for me I have the means to over come this down turn in the economy.

  • @lmcdowall Bull. I bet none of the buyers used a lawyer. Anyone that doesn't use a lawyer when buying a house is stupid.

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE What do you mean bull? Go look it up. It is a fact. The F.B.I were the ones to say it was fraud. They said around 75%.

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE I am curious. What does a lawyer do for you when you use one to buy your home? I think you are right because without one you are easy prey to the banks.

  • @tonybonez Well, *you* might, but rational people wouldn't.

  • @OeditpusRex

Do you think Michael Moore was saying not to leave your home even if you are not making payments

  • @tonybonez

actally michael moore says that should they come to throw you out of your house, stay in. refuse to leave.

  • @tonybonez When you sign a loan contract with a bank the doument gets sent to an escro account as a "promise to pay". It is then split up, derivatised, bet on and even after all that the bank makes interest on the promise to pay. INTEREST on a promise!! So, as soon as you sign you CREATE the funds for the bank. Then the bank has the gaul to tell you to pay it... all AGAIN!!

As the people start waking up the banks will start loading their pants. Believe that.

  • I'm from San Jose.. too bad the people living their are corporate slaves they don't want advice on how to stand up to the bank they want advice on how to kiss the bank's ass.

  • You see it's personal with me, as my family had to wait many hours on 911 until we found out my brother was OK, who had an appointment at the WTC just that day, and like many others we did not have certainty of knowledge regards our most signifigant others in our lives. For some time after, like many I accepted the official Bush admin explanation of events: the very idea that ANYONE then would lie and exploit us traitorously was unthinkable to most people. Not anymore, since I read U. : )thx

  • Mike this is personal: thanks for waking me up to the games people play with us!

I am VERY HAPPY you got The Steinbeck Prize: you deserved it, imo and many many more people's opinion all over the world. I am curious what you think about some of the stuff Alex and his guests as Lou Dobbs, R Nader, Sen R Paul, and others of both parties have spoken about regards Wall St., Obamnomics, Obama Patriot Act Pt. II, BP oil disaster aftermath, the whole shebang: I think you would make a good guest w him.

  • Apparently schnookering, exploiting the working middleclass with usurious interest rates, deception and intimidation isn't anything new:

Jer 22:13 Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness and his [upper] chambers by injustice, who uses his neighbor's service without wages and does not give him his pay [for his work],..

I know some people are allergic, as it were, to Bible quotes, but I feel abit a'mischievious' thiest this morning,...how could I post this it's so un-PC!

    congratsMike!

  • @Tommy7FilmEpidodes great reference

  • tcorp is antisemitic. No doubt about it. It was people like him who were responsible for what happened in Nazi Germany.

  • Jim DeMint started the recession.

  • @Richardgwm lol Jim DeMint sucks balls, but no one person started the recession. It was greed and politicians who are paid off by the greedy and lack of proper regulation that led to the recession.

  • @noxidereus 0egR_2RfDvY

  • love

  • So true.

  • Michael Moore is a GREAT American....

  • @bbbbmer .. michael moore is a typical american who knows where the money is and how to make it.. i have never heard him come out and say the official story of 911 is bullshit like many others have. i am surprised they have not called him a hero yet.. the most over used word in the american vocabulary..

  • @navtel Check out: "Confronting Michael Moore and Amy Goodman with 9/11"

That's one example. If you're interested all you have to do is a few minutes of searching and you can find several things where he says he doesn't buy the official story.

  • @navtel 9/11 is small fry bullshit. Regardless of who did 9/11, it's not the big picture or issue here. Stop it! There's so many goddamned issues like gitmo and afghanistan and the REAL wealth redistribution which is making the rich richer and the poor poorer by letting them deregulate industry and loot you further while they call any regulation 'communism' or 'socialism'.

  • @Makron5 .. find out who killed kennedy, who planted the bombs in the murrah building and in the wtc's, just to name a few, and you will find who is in control of the world.. the rest of the pieces will fall into place.

  • @navtel We can point out the controllers without that stuff. Why are you taking the hard road to nothing when we have better, more solid points that don't alienate people?

  • @navtel M Moore is NOT ' a typical American' at all, ( maybe, sure in some ways as he is American, but then are you not generalizing all Americans in a rather politically-rascist way: stereotyping that is?).. He was the only major public figure and author just about, that dared to write a book called F 911; which while went totally against the grain of MSM reporting as by the likes of FoxNews, CNN and even most of BBC and NPR stuff. He was very untypical that way; F911 questioned Bush's story.

  • congratulations

  • Please do a movie on Izzzzzzzzrael's ongoing slaughter and theft of land of Arab people.

  • @oceanbound222 You do not understand what motivates Michael Moore.

  • @oceanbound222 The film industry requires you to be Jew friendly and Arab hostile due to certain interests. Also, the political Jew lobby will label him anti-semitic if he ever did a movie about Israel's actions.

  • Wow!

  • Congratulations on receiving The John Steinbeck Award. You earned it! I hope you post more of what you shared with us tonight. "At what point do people stand up and say "ENOUGH!"?" . Enough of this Corporate America! Enough of this apathy! VOTE IN NOVEMBER. Let's encourage Pr. Obama to do what we elected him to do. The last 8 years were worse than these last 2. Vote and take 10 people with you.

  • It is galling to see bankrupt auto manufacturers and banks get tens of billions to tide them over. The poor US consumer hasn't received much help at all. How devastating it must be to have your dreams snatched from you by a bailiff. These are sad times.

  • that's like bob falsely accusing me of being a illegal african immigrant... but i'm not even african, or maybe even HALF as in biracial, and if you were biracial that's substantial evidence alone that you're likely not from africa (especially if the other half of your race is no where near africa)...

  • Pretty scary stuff.

  • Well said Michael, well said

  • So true, it'll be like a mini revolution.

  • Michael Moore says don't take any more bullshit. Don't accept bullshit. If enough people stand up against it then things can change.
