I've been playing this game for years on end, beating everything with every character and I have no yet been able to get Mr. Game and Watch, I guess I shouldn't have ever deleted my old files after I used to have him.

@Krintok i had same problem, the other way to unlock him is to play 1000 vs matches quickest way to do this is set ness in the fourth slot as cpu on level 9 you play in slot 1 on stock mode with 1 life and go on jungle japes when the match starts dont press anything and ness will kill himself every time, i say quickest but it still takes AGEEEESSSSS! ps. track ur vs match count in misc records, hope this helps

here is an easy way to unlock mr game and watch, when you fight him be gandondorf or captain falcon and press B at the bigging of the match. (hopefully it works)

@sexygirlz123 Sounds harder than it really is. I'm pretty sure you can unlock all characters with vs. matches, if not, most of them. What I did is fight some vs. matches, playthru the 1p modes, and then go back to Melee mode to keep me busy.

Actually I did not have to do target test when I got Mr.Game&watch I just got all classic tropheys and Adventure tropheys yes including jigglypuff who ps I suck at. I pretty good with peach. even though she is pretty light. so you don't necessarily have to do the 24 target test.

Young Link can be unlocked by beating Classic or Adventure mode with 10 characters including Zelda and Link. He can also be unlocked by playing 500 VS. mode matches.

If I remember correctly, you just have to play a versus match and he will appear again, and will continue to do so after every match until you eventually beat him. It's being quite a while since I last played melee though, so I could be mistaken. There will definately be a way to fight him once again though, that I'm certain of.

If you can't do the Target Test, do Adventure or Classic mode instead. That will also unlock G&W, and it can be a shit of a lot easier. Alternatively, you can also complete 1,000 VS. Matches.

I'm a fucking beast with Mewtwo. I can win just about any unlock battle in about 45 seconds or less with him. Just note that his Shadow Ball (B attack) isn't the best thing in unlock battles. However, his Up-Smash is pretty damn useful, and his Side-Smash can be pretty handy, too.

You can also unlock G&W by beating Adventure Mode with all 24 other characters. Alternatively, if you suck at Adventure Mode and Target Test, you can complete 1,000 Melee battles. An easy way to do this is to select any character as Player 1, select Ness as Player 2, switch Ness to CPU, set CPU Level to 9, then go to Stage Selection, and select Jungle Japes. Ness will jump up, over, and into the river about 99% of the time.

then you must've erased your character data. (or someone else has) You can erase different things independantly.

Here's a tip for the future; don't go near the "data erase" section.

How did you unlock him in the first place?

If you unlocked him by clearing classic w/ everyone, then clear it one more time with just one character.

If you unlocked him by clearing target w/ everyone, then clear it one more time with just one character.
