Lucille, I am 56 , (1955) and was so excited to hear your songs again. My daughter listened it with me and she enjoyed it just as much. Thankyou for entertaining us with your beautiful voice over the years throughout the globe.
Kan me goed voorstellen dat dit zo in de smaak viel, in Nederland! Ze mogen het smartlappen noemen, maar ik vind het oergezellig. Groeten uit Sydney! Joop
Or to put it another way. Love it! It may not be high-brow but it touches a chord!
No wonder they were zo enthusiastic in the Netherlands.

Since you already started reading this you cant stop. My name is Kalena. I have black hair, and green eyes. I am 13. I was my whole life. I have no ears or nose because my parents chopped them f with a rusty fork. I am dead. I will show up in your room in 13 days and kill you by chopping off your body parts with a rusty fork unless you repost this on 5 pages. THIS IS NO JOKE!!!! If you do, something good will happen to you within 13 days. If you don't believe this, just wait and see
As soon as i can ill make Mp3 of my LPs, have about a dozen different ones of Lucille, She is ONE GREAT LADY. and sooo funny, met her several times in the Netherlands, ps she LOVES Chocolate
Is there anyway to get any of Lucille's cds. I have a 45 of the french song and some that a friend sent me from Holland. I wanted her lp Back To You and the Sun Shines again but can't find them anywhere on the net or here. Do you know where we could get them or download mp3 of her.
Dank voor deze mooie momenten en prachtige LUCILLE .THE FRENCH SONG voor ons een der mooiste platen ooit.fan sinds de jaren 60 nog steeds veel emoties Dank u Lucille
the first time i heard your song from my sister in australia. she asking me buy her a cd for the song "french song"by Lucille starr. wow i loved that song.
Lucille, I am 58, (born 6 Aug, 1950). Rest assured, my grandkids already have heard your voice. You sing their past, but, your words sing, and know their future.
Searched for 'The French Song' and then found I received wonderful bonus with other melodies also, - need many more songs and melodies of this ilk to brighten often dreary 'entertainment' reality TV, murder and crime scene investigations etc.. World needs much more of this. Sure to please, thank you.
Lucille Starr has a voice like Edith Piaff. Not really beautiful, but full of emotion.
The French Song (according to internet sources) was written by 2 Americans: Harry Pease & Larry Vincent. It was recorded by Lucille in '63, '64, or '65 (sources don't agree).
Lucille also made recordings w/ her husband Bob Regan (The Canadian Sweethearts) until they split up in the 70s.
In 1967 another wonderful recording of this song was made by the Sandpipers.
I'm not really sure what the hell you were listening too. The whole last song is in french. You obviously have a language barrier. Learn french and then maybe you would understand what was going on.
Eh bien ma p'tite fille, non seulement le français je le parle, mais il se trouve que c'est ma langue maternelle. Je me suis fourgué parce que je n'ai pas écouter la vidéo jusqu'au bout. Voilà
And if you don't get a word of what I just wrote, well then learn french...
my mother sang this to me when she was little and now that she's gone i sing it to my daughters. thank you for posting it. it brings back memories of her. thanks so much.
I am a long time Lucille Starr fan and have many of her songs. However I only have one yodel song(Yodel Love Song). I know she did the yodelling on the Beverly Hillbillies for cousin Pearl. Does anyone know where I can find more of her yodel songs?
I first heard Lucille Star singing, I think the title is, "Just Out For Fun" on a jukebox in Dawson City in the Yukon (Canada) when I was 17 in 1964. Since then I have loved her & believe her voice to be one of the best I have ever, ever heard. Then she seemed to drop off the planet. I tried to find her - & now, here she is. I am so happy she is alive, obviously well & doing what she was born to do - sing!
I saw Lucille Starr live in Ottawa many years ago!! I grew up with my Mom singing the French Song to us as well as Jolie Jacqueline. Thanks so much for posting this! I rated 5 stars and favorited it and subscribed!!

I loved listening to a 45 of The French Song when I was a little girl. Tugs on the heartstrings ~ amazing how strong and clear Lucille Starr's voice is, thirty years later!!

"The French Song" brings back sweet memmories of my first true love.
"Now, when the sun says good day to the mountain, and the night says Hello to the dawn.
I'm alone with my dreams on the hill top. And I can still hear his voice though he's gone.
I hear from my door a love song through the wind. It brings back sweet memmories of you...."

"The French Song" Lyric in French:
Quand le soleil dit bonjour aux montagne
Et que la nuit rencontre le jour
Je sui seul avec malais sur la montagne
Une voix ma r'apellez toujours
Ecoute m'ais pas tout les chansons du vent
R'appellez des souveneirs de toi
Quand le soleil dit bonjour aux montagne
Je suis seul, je ne vieux pensez que toi
