Lucille Starr has a voice like Edith Piaff. Not really beautiful, but full of emotion.

The French Song (according to internet sources) was written by 2 Americans: Harry Pease & Larry Vincent. It was recorded by Lucille in '63, '64, or '65 (sources don't agree).

Lucille also made recordings w/ her husband Bob Regan (The Canadian Sweethearts) until they split up in the 70s.

In 1967 another wonderful recording of this song was made by the Sandpipers.

It IS originally a French song, she sung it in French most of the time. But translated in English for y'all who don't understood French :D

I am a long time Lucille Starr fan and have many of her songs. However I only have one yodel song(Yodel Love Song). I know she did the yodelling on the Beverly Hillbillies for cousin Pearl. Does anyone know where I can find more of her yodel songs?

I first heard Lucille Star singing, I think the title is, "Just Out For Fun" on a jukebox in Dawson City in the Yukon (Canada) when I was 17 in 1964. Since then I have loved her & believe her voice to be one of the best I have ever, ever heard. Then she seemed to drop off the planet. I tried to find her - & now, here she is. I am so happy she is alive, obviously well & doing what she was born to do - sing!
