If you want to use Winsocks Use the New one Winsock2005DLL . It works better than MSWinsock.ocx . But Personally I use System.Net.Sockets since its more portable and no OCX's Or DLL's. Its more challenging to use but I got the hang of it.

Hey, how do you talk to each other, do you open windows of it and then connect via same ip?

@TheSuperhack3r Different machines on the same network should each have a unique IP address.

I have an idea to improve this. When the thing loads, have an inoutbox pop up ("What is your name/desired username:","Log In") it isnt a real log in, just entering a name, but then have that value (the input) saved into a variable so it can be used in front of your chat text

Like this:

~variable-name~ + ":" + TxtSend.text
