Would you be interested in having this film professionally transferred to a DVD? I grew up in St. Louis and watched this live with the rest of my grade school. It was amazing, and so if this film. The event took hours as there were many stops and starts. Anyway, I have a film to DVD transfer service if you are ever interested. --Carl

I'm so glad I found this footage. It's apparently very rare because I have searched quite a bit for footage online. I was a Jr High student in East St. Louis when this ceremony took place. We were released from school to attend this "moment in history." I have always cherished that memory. (Bummed that your grandfather ran out of film, but so glad he captured this much!)

My stepfather was working for the law firm that oversaw the construction and he was there that day watching it be completed. Thanks for the great video
