French is badly taught in English schools whereas Spanish because it's easier has become more popular. Fewer youngsters learn French at secondary school now. French is not that easy though, the pronunciation is harder than Spanish. The video is proof, her Spanish was okay but her French dreadful.

Your Spanish is nice. As a native speaker, let me give you a little piece of advice if you don't mind: I notice that English speaking people tend to say Spanish sentences word by word. My advice is when a word finishes with a vowel and the next one also starts with a vowel, try linking both words as if they are only one. For instance, instead of 'de, español', say 'despañol''. You'll sound more Spanish =).

Hey! I studied Spanish and French in school this year, too, and I thought I could give you some pointers :)

In french, the 'le' (as in the article in front of francais) is not pronounced like 'lay', it is pronounced 'luh'. :) When you say "a l'ecole" the 'a' sounds just like our a sound, it's not an e sound. J'etudie is pronounced like "juuh tood eyay', and "un annne' would be pronounced "un annay", and not 'une an' because 'anne' is a masculine noun and therefore receives the masculine article.

'two years' would be the same, but you would pronounce it like "douza nay". When you say negative sentences (things that use ne pas), the 'ne' isn't pronounced like 'nay', it's pronounced like 'nuh', and rhymes with 'je'. It would be 'ma francais' instead of 'mi francais' And, finally, to say "I'm sorry" you can either say "je suis desolee" or just "desolee"... Because when you say "je desolee" that means "I sorry".
