The problem as I see is that we always speak about two things when we speak about God. one is the actual belief in God the other is the belief in that the Bible (or what ever "books") we claim have the right interpretation of God, really have that. I really respect your personal belief in God, but you can't make me think that the bible (probably not any book) have the right interpretation of what God is if he/she exits. 9:42 "I would believe in god even if there was no Bible".
I was a christian and it was actually my belief in the validity (maybe not exactly the right word) of the Bible that failed first and lead to me losing my heartfelt belief in god.
So, I am interested in how you connect you experience of god with the Bible. Could it not have been a signal from the creator or other supernatural force without justifying belief in the Bible?
Hope you don't mind me saying but it looks like you had too many thoughts going on in your mind at the time; three minutes in and you've started and abandonned multiple lines of thought without making a point.
I don't mind at all. In fact, I welcome constructive criticism. I admit that I do tend to be all over the place sometimes. I am working on fixing that, but I also don't want to script my videos too much. It's kind of a rock and a hard place for me right now, but I'm trying.
If you contend that God is perceived by an individual in a very personal way and, as we all know, each individual's thoughts and perceptions of the world both internal and external (mentally and physically) are different; haven't you, in essence, disproved the "God of the bible"? In other words: if God is different things to different people, is it plausible to believe in one true God? If not: why is he virtually imperceptible to the rest of us, that haven't experienced a religious epiphany?
You are right, there are many things that we accept about ourselves as truths without objective evidence. That helps me to better understand how the faith that religious people have. Thank you.
I don't thing that whether someone is "homosexual"/"heterosexual" a good analogy for whether there is a god. I think knowing things about yourself is completely different than knowing something about a supernatural feeling.
Also, if someone said they knew in their heart that another god existed (like Allah or Zeus) would you believe them?
I've watched the rest of your video... what is this big experience you talk about? Is there a video that covers this more fully?
Is it possible for the entire world to stop "sinning"? My lack of belief in a god may be a sin, but I can't just "start" believing. Other than that, I would like to see how that 1 minute went if it were possible.
Hi Thanks for an interesting video and I believe you are right the evidence or not for God is in our heart and if it says yes or no is not that important for me it's how skilful we live our life everyday that is important. and if God really exist I am sure that he/she/it will see it. Regards and have a skilful life. Pinge
there is no scientific evidence for if you are hetero or homosexual. Because they simply dont exist... we are all bisexual with variable parameters that are diffrent from each person but we have both the treats in all of us.
yeah I mean traits lol.... well a believe is a believe if you try hard enough you can make yourself believe anything. Belief in god, in my opinion, has more to do with politics and where you are born than genetic traits.
Technically, I should point out that using a penile plemismograph (sp?) can register arousal when viewing heterosexual or homosexual materials. In that way, it could be proven what orientation a person is objectively. But that's just a nitpick. ;-)
Well, it's possible to monitor blood supply to the genitals in all cases except erectile dysfunction as a form of proof. However, there's an even easier and more foolproof way.
Watching the brain light up in an MRI when subjected to various forms of erotica can reveal reactions that a person may otherwise attempt to avoid. You could hide arousal by thinking of dead bodies or something, but that would be betrayed on an MRI.
Blogtv/skype combo is good for debate/discussion. Also before I tag you in my next video, will you respond to it? It's a 5 fact video so you could do it at the end of a video in the last 2 minutes or so...and another thing, watch my video tonight...I has intro =)
There continues to be in this world conflict, intolerance, hatred and wars, much of it due to the differences in peoples religious beliefs. Though the gods and evil spirits of our ancestors have changed, humans havent given up these superstitions.
You asked what might happen if for one minute all sinning stopped. I suggest, as John Lennon proposed, to imagine no religion. Im not saying the world would be perfect but it might be a little quieter.

I wasnt sure why my comment wasnt posted the first time but it happens often, when I comment on videos of other users as well. I thought it could be a problem with YT and indicating the reposting date might give them a wake-up call so to speak. Not much likelihood of that. It is frustrating when I am anxious to add my two cents to the comments and I am one of the first to post but I have to repost and my comment gets buried in hundreds of others. Thanks for letting me know it wasnt your doing.
So if we modify the or tinker with the electrical impulses of the brain, we could turn a homosexual into a heterosexual?
If that's the case, the first commenter on this video (Zarkoff45) linked to an interesting video and in that video had a link to another video on brain expiraments that recreate salvation experiences (or so they claim). If all these be true, it should not be that long before I can manipulate everyone's brain into believeing in God. Mwahahahahaha!
So the evidence for god is subjective? But the religious lways make claims of god impacting the world/universe. Surely that should have objective evidence.
We have evidence that the sun exists because it's demonstrable. You are confusing existence with meaning. The mere existence of something does not mean that it has a default value associated therein. You apply value to things based on your experiences.
A watch given to me by a loved one will have value to me because it reminds me of them in some way, whereas the same watch will not carry the same emotional connection with you.
To address your first inquiry, you are again missing the point. Beauty is not a thing. It is a perception that people have. Whether or not you find beauty in something is irrelevant to the thing itself. The same thing is true with music. Some people may find it beautiful, while others may find it horrendous.
I believe you are basing your question about God off of the assumption that it exists. How can I possibly remove value from something if I have no way of knowing whether or not it actually manifests in the world in which I live?
Also, the watch example could probably be better explained if I use a funeral instead. Imagine someone that you know has died. You'll feel many different emotions from this death. However, I, having never met you, would not have the same emotional reaction, even though I could empathize with your suffering.
Without an idea of what "God" could possibly mean, you would have no basis to believe. That's like asking a five-year-old to explain algebraic algorithms. The question is therefore very relevant.
Demanding evidence for every belief we have isnt practical and Im sure a philosopher could tear such a demand to pieces. Nobodys ever going to prove that theres no god/Allah/Buddha/Vishnu/Thor etc etc; never gonna happen
It is reasonable however to say that based on the arguments against there being gods, A person can make a fairly rational decision not to believe. David Icke however has seen George bush shapeshift into a reptile with his own eyes, so thats good enough proof for me!
I agree with you, however their are many cases of people like David Icke, alien abduction victims, imaginary friends, those whove seen "other" gods than yours and a million others who have "felt" their experiences in as real a sense as you felt your experience. So we have to decide if all/any of these things exist or is it just that there are mental states that can confuse us about our reality. I cant tell the difference between who is delusional and who is seeing/feeling things that are real
You think you have a hard time, imagine being one of the ones who have had that experience and trying to decifer the others who make a similar claim.
The only evidence that I have found that satisfies my curiosity is: does it change their life for the better? If the answer is 'no', then I can only speculate that it cannot be from God.
Now I normally don't care about arguments of is there a god or not. But I will entertain you for a min. If one was able to prevent a crime, save a life, and they chose not to do it. Is that not wrong? You know it is, and just just confirmed a believe in god is wrong ;)
I agree and disagree with much of what you said here. First, there a plenty of homosexuals that scream "look at me I'm gay"... but I have NEVER thought of tattooskin72 as being one of them. He's very private about his love life and rightfully so. And, if he is talking about his love life, he's well aware that we all have the option of not watching. He's not doing this in an "in your face" forum, he's doing it in a vlog arena where we are free to change the channel - so to speak.
As for the "preventing a crime" scenario. You are minimizing the idea of God and free-will to a common story. Obviously you have no desire to argue this with me and I honestly don't want to insult you or your intelligence with any retorts that I may have. But I will say that, if you are up to the discussion sometime, please let me know and I'll be here.
You ignore god's own free will, and he chooses not to save lives. Only murder humans over and over. punishing them. And being a dictator in heaven, lol
yeah. totally not interested in arguing idiot things like is there a god or not.
That is not my cup of tea. I find it completely retarded, and those that do, are completely retarded, in most all cases (especially here on youtube)
I can however show you what I lot of the mythology in the bible old and new, along with many other religious mythologies, I can show you what a lot of it pertains to.
but seeing how you don't pay attention to any of my videos. and it;s always about you you you
I'm actually gong to say goodbye to you. and unsub. have a nice life!
I watch your videos all the time. Just because I don't comment doesn't mean I don't watch.
If you took my last post in the wrong way, I apologize. I did not mean to insult you, in fact, that is what I wanted to avoid. I know that you are well studied in the mythology of religion.
This is why I tend to prefer conversation over debate. Debate tends to lead to someone being insulted even though the insulter had no intention of doing so.
If someone comments me all the time, common courtesy says I should comment them back on their topics, which i do :)
but i am ridding myself of people i like and watch all their videos, and comment on every single one of them, and yet i get nothing from them in return. you dig
re-subbing :)
and i will seriously leave the is there a god or not stuff alone. but,
from time to time Im sure passages will get brought up, and other religious stories and what not. and when it does, often I can present a different way to see them. via deciphering the mythology. I feel the religious should embrace this, because it shows just how wise the teaching really are. The atheist do not like that at all, bec they want to rid the world of such amazing clever highly intelligent teaching, bec they have no clue what they mean.
I digg!... I also should comment that I liked your "dreams" video. I am a big fan of the original song by Fleetwood Mac and that cover version was good too. The video was kinda scary (the heroin history in my family helps that fear). So... going forward, I will do more than just rate your vids. I will take part in the discussion(s) and I welcome you back. =)
he screams out look at me look at me, I'm gay, I'm different, poor me I'm discriminated against. Anyone that has to constantly tell people they're gay. Are in it for the rush, te taboo, of being different. the pro or con in that attention is irrelevant in whichever circumstance occurs (referencing to no one wants to get beaten down for being different, when i fact they actually do, or when, if it happens, it's all a part of the rush)
the evidence for being hetero is the round pegs DO fit into round holes. Look down your pants and see what little evidence you have. lol
Being gay, the taboo rush of being different completely over shadows any rue feelings that may, or may not be there.
The number of people with more Y chromosomes then X, making them physically gay, is something like less than one percent. Take someone like tattooskin guy,
Another great video. As usual, I have a lot to say in reply, but I'll try to keep this brief. I think a person's sexuality is a construct of society. People are taught to see the opposite gender in certain ways, and it usually results in heterosexuality, but sometimes it has the opposite effect. Anyone can love anyone romantically. Nobody is inherently heterosexual or homosexual. We just fight those feelings when it comes to our same gender.
Your beliefs regarding sin depend on the story in the bible. If you didn't know the bible, you wouldn't believe that the earth was created in six days and that the rib woman ate the magic apple at the suggestion of the talking snake. You would still believe that people do bad things, of course, but you would have to rely on your own judgment as to what is bad. I don't think you would agree, in that case, with some of what the bible says is a sin.
I have my issues with Genesis. I am not a biblical literalist - that statement alone is bound to get me into big trouble. But I have spent time getting to know my God. Through prayer, through the stories about His life. Through living out His commands and learning that those commands are as rewarding as He promised that they would be. As for sin, I do it everyday. Whether or not I agree that it is a sin makes me no less guilty of it.
I have to say that I understand what you are saying, but I disagree. I really don't see myself fighting feelings of arousal towards men. Though I am secure enough to admit when a man is attractive, that does not mean that I am attracted to him, just that I could understand the appeal... i.e. I wish I looked like Orlando Bloom or Josh Hartnett due to their perceived attractiveness. But I am only admitting to something subjective, not admitting to feelings or repressing them. no?
I have a friend who is gay, and he has said that everything that happens to a heterosexual man when he sees an attractive woman is what happens to him when he sees an attractive man. We all feel the same way, but about different genders. Because of that, I think that the root of heterosexuality is the same as the root of homosexuality.
i liked this vid. your one of the good Christians on here bro. i just don't think that any experience i have had on this earth points to a god, just good people. i hope that comes off right.
1 i would like to say that if we acknowledge how it came to be that sunset, how much depth is means just the view alone. at-least i stand in awe because of that.
2 biology would help explain both the origin how we gained that ability also how our brain works dude to the environment we're in.
nono you dont need to forgive, i just wanted to add the comment on that..
thereprieve, I totally know what you mean by overwhelming experiences. I'm curious as to how you interpret equally intense and revelatory religious experiences that Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, Baha'i, neo-Zoroastrians, Wiccans, etc. have had. They are all just as convinced of their beliefs on the basis of equally intense personal experiences that lead them to totally different conclusions. What's your take on that?
Here's my take. Communications from purer forms of consciousness arrive into the human brain in the form of "speed of light pulses" that are processed by our subconscious and then converted to speed of sound or language information. It is always an imperfect translation because our brains can only think in the images and languages of which we are already familiar. Therefore, a person who had been brought up with no human contact would never interpret such communication as from Jesus or Allah.
That is very difficult to discuss as it relates to "pre-universe" existence and all of our language is based on 4 dimensional reality. "God" experiences, as you put it, are really not that rare but they are usually ignored in favor of our existing constructed rational existences. Our egos rely on and believe in the nature of reality as it is reasonably perceived and agreed upon by consensus within our communities. "God" experiences occur at "no-speed" then get processed down to language speed.
hmm i remember learning about peoples reactions to different things showing their orientation - but for me, whilst i can appreciate good looks in both sexes, i am attracted or aroused by the female form alone so i know i'm hetero.
What if a man were posing as a woman 'To Wong Fu' style? I'm as straight as an arrow but I admit that John Leguizamo was darn good lookin as Chi Chi Rodriguez.
in that case you are working under the assumption that it is a woman - and if it came to the point of intimacy and were confronted with a hairy pair of balls i imagine your ardour would cool somewhat....if not invert all together :D
There are actual differences in brain patterns and hormonal balances and so on that will let scientists test with reasonable reliability for sexual orientation.
What your sexuality is, even if hidden is realy what it is.
Feeling a belief in god, due to awe of nature, is just a realisation of your ignorance. Science explains it all, sufficiently. God explains nothing.
If gods evidence is innate, in some people then god has pre chosen his heavens brigade. Nothing we do or say can get us there if god did not give us the ticket at conception. All you prove is you believe your god does not care about justice. Sin is here because god made it here.
Wow, I'm not sure if we've ever met friend, but if you'd enjoy a serious conversation, and wish to be taken seriously, then I suggest you refrain from the ad hominem. As I'd really enjoy educating you on your complete misunderstanding of God.
You felt it in yourself, that there is a god. That's no evidence, that's personal experience. What do you say to a Muslim, who tells you that he has had a profound experience in his heart, from which he is sure that Allah exists. Would you start thinking that Allah has created the world and is still ruling over it? No, you'll say - well he may be sure, but that's just personal experience, people have various personal experiences, they can't be counted on.
I have never made the claim otherwise. And that is exactly the point I am making. The evidence that you see displayed through me that there is a God is in my actions. Much like the evidence that you see for someone being homosexual is in their actions.
I will make a video about your Allah idea in the future.
A two year old child suffers the consequences of *your* sin. How's that for a guilt trip? =)
"A two year old child suffers the consequences of 'your' sin".
Define "sin". (I've never been religious) If you mean the ten commandments, I have never murdered anyone, never lied (you know, a real lie), never stolen, never cheated, respect my parents. So, I've not "sinned", and you accuse me of that. How's that for a guilt trip? =)
You did say, at 4:37, "The evidence I have for Christ..." and the proceded to describe this "overwhelming, powerful" experience, when you called god and he came to you.
You say : "The evidence that you see displayed through me that there is a God is in my actions." Then I see the evidence that astrology is true, displayed through a friend of mine and her actions. You think? And I see the evidence that Allah exists through other friends of mine in Bulgaria and through their actions...
I'm definitely not offended... how could I be after calling god an imaginary friend ;)
As for evidence for sexuality. Of course I know I am predominantly homosexual because of how I feel towards members of the same sex. I don't have that same strong feeling for women. As far as science in this matter... They are getting closer, but they are pretty sure it's a combination of many factors that determines sexuality. There are biological factors that have been tested and verified. <more
I really do want to thank you for taking time out of your day to make a response. I am not sure I can really address you on "stopping sin for 1 minute" all around the world. I see inconsistencies in the bible, so I don't know if it's even possible.
I do want you to understand that I respect you a lot... and I deeply appreciate the video :)
I have done some reading up on the scientific factors of homosexuality at the urging of another yt friend of mine. I would hate to be the guy misrepresenting something, especially if I don't understand it. The point that I wanted to make, that I got way off track from, is that the evidence that you are hetero or homo is personal. It's inside you. The evidence I have about you is what I see you display. I think Christianity is very similar in that regard.
I see a penis, and I my testosterone levels drop. I see a naked woman, and my testosterone levels raise. You can take blood samples of people who are undergoing sexual stimulation, including just being aroused by an individual of the opposite or same sex. The levels of testosterone or estrogen change based on the arousal that the brain experiences preparing the body for sexual stimulation.
What happens if you see a 400 lb 80 year old woman naked? Still get that testosterone pumping in your blood? No? Well then, according to your expirament, you are gay. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for ya. ;-)
Uh... okay, I watched your video and then I watched the "God Helmet" video that you linked. I see what you're getting at but I wonder if you've actually thought this through? The Persinger expirament needed a special helmet creating a magnetic field over certain lobes of the brain. I am wondering where those fields were when I had my experience? Does my car recreate those precise fields? And having 2 people describe the same incident for salvation is a rarity, funny that these expiraments...
... all seemed to be able to create only 1 type of experience pertaining to God. The rest, seemed irrelevant to God, i.e. the near death experience, the experience of long dead loved ones, etc., etc.
The problem as I see is that we always speak about two things when we speak about God. one is the actual belief in God the other is the belief in that the Bible (or what ever "books") we claim have the right interpretation of God, really have that.
MoreSciFiThanScience 2 years ago
"...a person can make a fairly rational decision not to believe"
Then likewise, a person's experience with God should then be evidence that one exists and that the belief in such becomes completely rational.
thereprieve 2 years ago
I agree with you, however their are many cases of people like David Icke, alien abduction victims, imaginary friends, those whove seen "other" gods than yours and a million others who have "felt" their experiences in as real a sense as you felt your experience. So we have to decide if all/any of these things exist or is it just that there are mental states that can confuse us about our reality. I cant tell the difference between who is delusional and who is seeing/feeling things that are real
MoreSciFiThanScience 2 years ago
You think you have a hard time, imagine being one of the ones who have had that experience and trying to decifer the others who make a similar claim.
The only evidence that I have found that satisfies my curiosity is: does it change their life for the better? If the answer is 'no', then I can only speculate that it cannot be from God.
thereprieve 2 years ago
Now I normally don't care about arguments of is there a god or not. But I will entertain you for a min. If one was able to prevent a crime, save a life, and they chose not to do it. Is that not wrong? You know it is, and just just confirmed a believe in god is wrong ;)
have a great night man :)

He's not doing this in an "in your face" forum, he's doing it in a vlog arena where we are free to change the channel - so to speak.
thereprieve 2 years ago
yeah, you obviously don't know him very well at all.
DecentralizedByGuilt 2 years ago
As for the "preventing a crime" scenario. You are minimizing the idea of God and free-will to a common story. Obviously you have no desire to argue this with me and I honestly don't want to insult you or your intelligence with any retorts that I may have. But I will say that, if you are up to the discussion sometime, please let me know and I'll be here.
thereprieve 2 years ago

Sorry to hear you are unsubbing. I've enjoyed...

but i am ridding myself of people i like and watch all their videos, and comment on every single one of them, and yet i get nothing from them in return. you dig
re-subbing :)
and i will seriously leave the is there a god or not stuff alone. but,

from time to time Im sure passages will get brought up, and other religious stories and what not. and when it does, often I can present a different way to see them. via deciphering the mythology. I feel the religious should embrace this, because it shows just how wise the teaching really are. The atheist do not like that at all, bec they want to rid the world of such amazing clever highly intelligent teaching, bec they have no clue what they mean.
DecentralizedByGuilt 2 years ago

DecentralizedByGuilt 2 years ago
the evidence for being hetero is the round pegs DO fit into round holes.

PluralOfEverything 2 years ago
Your beliefs regarding sin depend on the story in the bible. If you didn't know the bible, you wouldn't believe that the earth was created in six days and that the rib woman ate the magic apple at the suggestion of the talking snake. You would still believe that people do bad things, of course, but you would have to rely on your own judgment as to what is bad. I don't think you would agree, in that case, with some of what the bible says is a sin.
PluralOfEverything 2 years ago
I have my issues with Genesis. I am not a biblical literalist - that statement alone is bound to get me into big trouble. But I have spent time getting to know my God. Through prayer, through the stories about His life. Through living out His commands and learning that those commands are as rewarding as He promised that they would be. As for sin, I do it everyday. Whether or not I agree that it is a sin makes me no less guilty of it.
thereprieve 2 years ago
I have to say that I understand what you are saying, but I disagree. I really don't see myself fighting feelings of arousal towards men. Though I am secure enough to admit when a man is attractive, that does not mean that I am attracted to him, just that I could understand the appeal... i.e. I wish I looked like Orlando Bloom or Josh Hartnett due to their perceived attractiveness. But I am only admitting to something subjective, not admitting to feelings or repressing them. no?
thereprieve 2 years ago
well my magic wand gets bigger when I see hot women so I would say that is evidence of my hetro-sexuality
LOL sorry man had to say it
TheUnmaskedMagician 2 years ago 2
I have a friend who is gay, and he has said that everything that happens to a heterosexual man when he sees an attractive woman is what happens to him when he sees an attractive man. We all feel the same way, but about different genders. Because of that, I think that the root of heterosexuality is the same as the root of homosexuality.
PluralOfEverything 2 years ago
I can see that
TheUnmaskedMagician 2 years ago
I am not sure what you are getting at..
Would it not be feasible then that, though everyone's experience with God is different, that the root is still the same?
thereprieve 2 years ago
LOL - would I then be able to logically conclude that the old wand does a disappearing act when you see naked men?
thereprieve 2 years ago
i liked this vid. your one of the good Christians on here bro. i just don't think that any experience i have had on this earth points to a god, just good people. i hope that comes off right.

Can science tell me how much I love my wife or my kids?
Sorry for confusing you... when I speak unscripted I tend to ramble and get off topic. Please forgive me for that.
thereprieve 2 years ago
1 i would like to say that if we acknowledge how it came to be that sunset, how much depth is means just the view alone. at-least i stand in awe because of that.
2 biology would help explain both the origin how we gained that ability also how our brain works dude to the environment we're in.
nono you dont need to forgive, i just wanted to add the comment on that..

Google: "Sexual Orientation: In The Brain"
zarkoff45 2 years ago
thereprieve, I totally know what you mean by overwhelming experiences.
Vic92084 2 years ago
Here's my take. Communications from purer forms of consciousness arrive into the human brain in the form of "speed of light pulses" that are processed by our subconscious and then converted to speed of sound or language information. It is always an imperfect translation because our brains can only think in the images and languages of which we are already familiar. Therefore, a person who had been brought up with no human contact would never interpret such communication as from Jesus or Allah.
1140Cecile 2 years ago
So then where did the first "God" experiences come from?
thereprieve 2 years ago
That is very difficult to discuss as it relates to "pre-universe" existence and all of our language is based on 4 dimensional reality. "God" experiences, as you put it, are really not that rare but they are usually ignored in favor of our existing constructed rational existences. Our egos rely on and believe in the nature of reality as it is reasonably perceived and agreed upon by consensus within our communities. "God" experiences occur at "no-speed" then get processed down to language speed.
1140Cecile 2 years ago
I plan to do a video on this in the near future... stay tuned! =)

hmm i remember learning about peoples reactions to different things showing their orientation - but for me, whilst i can appreciate good looks in both sexes, i am attracted or aroused by the female form alone so i know i'm hetero.

What if a man were posing as a woman 'To Wong Fu' style? I'm as straight as an arrow but I admit that John Leguizamo was darn good lookin as Chi Chi Rodriguez.
Just a little food for thought.
thereprieve 2 years ago
mmm nykatine2 :P
in that case you are working under the assumption that it is a woman - and if it came to the point of intimacy and were confronted with a hairy pair of balls i imagine your ardour would cool somewhat....if not invert all together :D
SpiritKeeper 2 years ago
There are actual differences in brain patterns and hormonal balances and so on that will let scientists test with reasonable reliability for sexual orientation.
Vic92084 2 years ago
What your sexuality is, even if hidden is realy what it is.
Feeling a belief in god, due to awe of nature, is just a realisation of your ignorance. Science explains it all, sufficiently. God explains nothing.
If gods evidence is innate, in some people then god has pre chosen his heavens brigade. Nothing we do or say can get us there if god did not give us the ticket at conception. All you prove is you believe your god does not care about justice. Sin is here because god made it here.
adolthitler 2 years ago
Wow, I'm not sure if we've ever met friend, but if you'd enjoy a serious conversation, and wish to be taken seriously, then I suggest you refrain from the ad hominem. As I'd really enjoy educating you on your complete misunderstanding of God.
thereprieve 2 years ago
ad hominem?
Where is that in my post?
I understand your god 100%, you don't understand him. Thats why you believe in him.
adolthitler 2 years ago
You felt it in yourself, that there is a god. That's no evidence, that's personal experience. What do you say to a Muslim, who tells you that he has had a profound experience in his heart, from which he is sure that Allah exists. Would you start thinking that Allah has created the world and is still ruling over it? No, you'll say - well he may be sure, but that's just personal experience, people have various personal experiences, they can't be counted on.
You say sin, but a 2 year old child?
dewinthemorning 2 years ago
"That's no evidence, that's personal experience"
I have never made the claim otherwise. And that is exactly the point I am making. The evidence that you see displayed through me that there is a God is in my actions. Much like the evidence that you see for someone being homosexual is in their actions.
I will make a video about your Allah idea in the future.
A two year old child suffers the consequences of *your* sin. How's that for a guilt trip? =)
thereprieve 2 years ago
@thereprieve,
"A two year old child suffers the consequences of 'your' sin".
Define "sin". (I've never been religious) If you mean the ten commandments, I have never murdered anyone, never lied (you know, a real lie), never stolen, never cheated, respect my parents. So, I've not "sinned", and you accuse me of that. How's that for a guilt trip? =)
dewinthemorning 2 years ago
You did say, at 4:37, "The evidence I have for Christ..." and the proceded to describe this "overwhelming, powerful" experience, when you called god and he came to you.
You say : "The evidence that you see displayed through me that there is a God is in my actions." Then I see the evidence that astrology is true, displayed through a friend of mine and her actions. You think? And I see the evidence that Allah exists through other friends of mine in Bulgaria and through their actions...

thereprieve 2 years ago
I'm definitely not offended... how could I be after calling god an imaginary friend ;)
As for evidence for sexuality. Of course I know I am predominantly homosexual because of how I feel towards members of the same sex. I don't have that same strong feeling for women. As far as science in this matter... They are getting closer, but they are pretty sure it's a combination of many factors that determines sexuality. There are biological factors that have been tested and verified. <more
tattooskin72 2 years ago
I really do want to thank you for taking time out of your day to make a response. I am not sure I can really address you on "stopping sin for 1 minute" all around the world. I see inconsistencies in the bible, so I don't know if it's even possible.
I do want you to understand that I respect you a lot... and I deeply appreciate the video :)
tattooskin72 2 years ago
The respect is absolutely mutual!
I think Christianity is very similar in that regard.
thereprieve 2 years ago
I see a penis, and I my testosterone levels drop. I see a naked woman, and my testosterone levels raise. You can take blood samples of people who are undergoing sexual stimulation, including just being aroused by an individual of the opposite or same sex. The levels of testosterone or estrogen change based on the arousal that the brain experiences preparing the body for sexual stimulation.
riseofatheism 2 years ago
What happens if you see a 400 lb 80 year old woman naked? Still get that testosterone pumping in your blood? No? Well then, according to your expirament, you are gay. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for ya. ;-)

Scientists claim they can recreate your subjective experience.
zarkoff45 2 years ago
Uh... okay, I watched your video and then I watched the "God Helmet" video that you linked.
