  • those four wheel baguettes arent probably designed to survive harsh northly winters :P though never tried one so I cant tell it for sure

  • I hate diesel cars at winter!

  • this is a 96 mod from the layout on the dashboard and its missing the lovely glow plug meter

  • i started my car at -300°

  • lol get a real car that was made in a real country get a nissan it will start every time.

  • Good battery. Try some thinner oil too.

  • try some 0w30 oil net time, togheter with additives for gasoline! (excuse my bad engligh, i'm italian!)

  • Coldest I've ever started a car was -46C.

  • It's funny how the instrument panel warning lights go all crazy on these cars when they fail to start (ie. some of them light up way later than normally and some keep flashing randomly). :D

Did same on my 2.1TD when I had hard time cranking it due to bad glow plugs.

  • Haha Fludy676. Peugeot makes already many years diesel engines for Ford!

Only the last generation diesel engines they have developed together. Come out of your dark hole and Google a bit around where ford gets its diesels.

  • @SelfTubeFreak you should change your name to SelfPleasureFreak. That 406 was a 1997 model seemly. Ford had nothing to do with them back then. And if they had any sense they would have nothing to do with them now either. Why dont you come out of your hole and get some grammer lessons because i can not make out your first sentence. You must be French. Iv no pity for you.

  • @Fludy676

    *seemly = not a word

    *grammar

    *I've

Don't try and call people on their spelling and grammar when yours is so fucking disgraceful. It just makes you look ridiculous. Which you are.

  • @davetibbs your a right tuff lad. You would have any youtuber shakin in there boots. Your the kind of person who always has to be correct and get the final say. I myself was jus speaking from personal opinion. Look its an age old dispute. Peugeot are dirt. Look at all the years Peugeot put into developing a le mans car and audi come out of nowhere and actually blew them off the track with pretty much a proto-type car still needing some tweaks. That just shows how hopeless peugeot are.

  • @davetibbs you tryed correct me on my spelling and grammer but yet you come along and spell grammer the same way i did. Its easy to hit the wrong keys isnt it? I am in agreement about the 530 diesel from bmw and im bangin on about fords because iv had my fair share of them in my time. Proper fords like the RS cosworths and xr3i's. But there old skool and i understand technology has come a long way over the past 10 years but Peugeot just dont have the quality that its competition has..

  • If a peugeot will run at - 24c anything will. Suprised the bag of shit even turned over. Sorry MrMoterKid you,ll get no sympathy here. I stand by what i say. Maybe Ford will pull the frogs out of there dark hole and show them how to build a car. Until then there all scrap.

  • @Fludy676 and who do you suppose designed Ford's TDCi engine?

    Three guesses.

    *Hint: begins with a P.

  • @davetibbs i honestly couldnt give a fuck. There still pieces of shit. Peugout might design engines with ford but ford take all the credit and rightly so. When you pop the hood on a ford you dont see a poxy peugout badge do you? Ye can moan all ye like. Because by the sounds of it all ye fuckers are driving peugouts. Which is enough punishment as it is. I drive a Audi RS6. Previous car was a M3 BMW. And my next car will be a tdi VW. Probably a V6 Tourag. GERMAN ALL THE WAY. FUCK YOUR SHIT BOXES.

  • @Fludy676 First - learn how to spell PEUGEOT, you fucking illiterate pleb. And since you sound like a keyboard warrior chav who can barely type or spell I find it somewhat unlikely that you've (legitimately) owned an RS6 or an M3. And secondly, if you had the slightest knowledge about cars or engines you'd know that Peugeot (or rather, PSA) are renowned for their fantastic diesel engines, it's the one thing they do very well, and they do it from years of experience.

  • @Fludy676 BMW also make fantastic diesel engines but that's more down to their engineering budget, not that that matters - the BMW 3.0d engine is brilliant.

VAG diesel engines in comparison are no better than PSA diesels and certainly no more reliable. In fact they have more problems than the PSA units.

Fair enough, BMWs are in a different class to Peugeots, but why are you banging on about how good Ford are? They're no better than Peugeot - same price bracket, same quality.

  • @Fludy676 I don't think so. Remember, it's -24*C and it's a diesel! Most diesel won't even run in those sorts of temperatures.

  • Love it! :)

  • Ooooh dear, it really could do with some new glow plugs! Last year, I was in Switzerland picking up a Citroën XM with the samt engine. It had been standing for 2 months in the winter, the day I picked it up, was -20C. 2xpreheating, and it just came alive

  • :) I live in Siberia. Peugeot 406 coupe 3.0L. Temperature -36C.... that's Extreme cold start! -24C is our usual temperature. -24C is our warm weather.

  • out usual tempereture at winter is ~ -10C max -25C. At -36C I wouldn't even come out. :))

  • @antoniovassen why are you living there ?

  • Yes I like this engine very much, even more than HDI ones. Next day I'v checked the glow plugs and 1 was faulty. So good enough to start with 3 glow plug working in -24. :)

  • @SMN722 warm them up at least 2-3 times before attempting the start of the engine on such a low temperature

  • -24°C...

...and you still can rely on your peugeot.

by the way: love the 406 - great car!
