  • God, this takes me back. Such a beautiful song, but makes me feel sad..I miss the nineties!!!

  • Take me back to this point in time, when I'm at my happiest, love was with the most memorable person, and Suede was perfect for it!

  • my theory is that Brett is the reincarnation of Orpheus of ancient myth :)

  • I love this song, is so sad and so beautiful, in the same time.

  • There are very few songs that, when I hear, bring me back to point in my life. This amazing song always reminds me of the summer of '96. Very cool video BTW!

  • Thing about those still shots is, they are just standing still - except not quite. Its not the matrix.

  • brett's poetic licence is compared to who, huh?

  • my tattoos are bleeding still...i'm not wild anymore....wonder who brett loved so pasionately to write so many touching emotional songs....who made your tattoos bleed, brett?ha?

  • it's inspired by Wuthering Heights, but when Brett was younger he was very much in love with Justine Frischman from Elastica for a while.

  • wish i looked like brett anderson

  • When i get older, i love Suede more....They are the best Band forever in my heart....never change..

  • Those were the days....wish i could go back in time!!

  • This was my wedding song - beautiful video for a beautiful song.

  • A great song, probably one of their best, surprised it doesn't have many views, maybe thats part of the reason dog man star only charted at number 3.

  • wow.10 years ago now since i lent that cd to my true love.unfortunately she didnt know it at the time..they just dont make em like that anymore.

  • Best live band ever!

  • GREAT POP SONG IN 1995

  • Tears in my eyes now...

  • i remember me and my then gf always listened to this on repeat everynight when sleeping man oh man what i would do to go back to my youth thanks suede for the memories

  • i MISS SUEDE...

  • Bernard Butler's solo albums proved that he sure needed Brett Anderson more than Brett needed him.

  • Great song...makes me remember MTV in 1995...

    nostalgic pure

  • This music was often listened to, when I was a junior high school student.

    It is very nostalgic.

    up thanks!!!!

  • Their best single.

  • nice song

  • Great Song , awesome group...

  • i totally agree

  • Absolutely gorgeous.

  • Ahh I love this song. One of my favourite Suede songs, still love this band. They definitely should have been more popular here in North America.

  • My brother has been a Suede fan for 14 years.

He got me into them about 5 years ago.

In my opinion they were (from 92-95) the best band in the world and their first album is one of the best records ever made (of any era).

  • I loove this song. Remember being 12 and just starting to get my very personal music taste. They got me!

  • incredible musicians

  • this is a beautiful song,i loved suede wish they were still around, musics duller without them

  • Warning: Don not try to give your ex-boyfriend an involuntary Brett Anderson hair cut with blunt scissors, while drunk and a little bit high. The results will not be good :OP

  • Yeah, For one thing you may get alchol poisioning XDDDD j/k

  • I love the sheer romanticism of this song.

"We'll be the wild ones running with the dogs today"

    <<<333

  • Chilling!

  • Heart-achingly beautiful.

  • i think the rhythm guitarist here is not much better that John Lennon

  • Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up,c them at brighton centre in about 96-97,amazing live!!!!!!

  • Wild Ones is song to have Sex.I love Suede.

  • suede wrote the soundtrack to your lives people.

  • i agree

  • agreed

  • so true. suede haunts me.

  • Rips me apart everytime.Awesome sound & unforgetable vocals.Sex on toast for me...

  • Great song, great band, great times.

  • It's one of the song where I could remember the rhythm immediately... it's so touching and I agreed that Brit-pop in the 90s is the best.

  • amazing.

  • they were depressed when they did this. it hurts my mind a little bit...

  • This brings back memories...seen them a couple times in concert...

  • the 90's was full of goodness

  • i used to forget, that there was indeed quite some decent music in the 90's.

  • I cant express how much I love this song & this band- they hold such a special place in my heart... Amazing & brilliant- what a talent! This is one band that everyone should give a listen to at least once, it will always be worth it...

  • The last minute of this song still sends shivers down my spine :)

    beautiful

  • Genius band, great songs, great voice.

  • theres a song playing on the radio ,

    love this song =)

  • brilliant

  • most of the bands these days should look again at where they came from. now THIS IS MUSIC. thanks

  • I've had a suedefest tonight. This is the perfect end to a cracking trip down memory lane. Come back Mr. Anderson and co. We still love you!

  • should suede really come back though and go as stail as oasis? The verve and smashing pumpkins came back with weak albums. Maybe we just should remember suede as they were in the 90s. New morning was a decent album to exit on.

  • best love song ever.suede were a great band.

  • What a masterpiece of song and video art... beautiful.

  • Few songs make me cry.

    This is one.

  • Beauuutifulll

  • One of the best songs ever! I love it!

  • Increible video, increible canción e increible la persona que me lo recomendó, me gusta, me gusta, me gusta mucho...

  • Anderson sang this for us this evening. Quite fabulous.

  • Yeah, it was really lovely. :)

  • What a great song...it's painful to listen and to remember. Though I do prefer the album version...funny about the shaking actors...I'd never noticed before...

  • How does this version differ to the one on the album? I cannot tell between the two.

  • The way he sings the chorus; it's different. I'd sing it to you if you here :0) Both the 'Oh if you stay' and 'we'll be the wild ones'; he sings it differently on the album version.

  • Cuando me compre el disco, no se cuantas veces seguidas escuché esta canción, la mejor de este disco, y de las mejores de los 90, ¡Que tiempos!

  • tq for this vid...brings back so many memories...luv this one fr suede best :)

  • it would be a good video, but the actors and actresses were shaking too much during the scenes..bad special effects

  • Amazing band.

    where they are? O_o

  • no me gusta el pop pero suede me puede q lindas son sus canciones

  • gudvid

  • dogman star is as good as the quwwn is dead.

berbard butler probably sends richard oakes to pick his kids up from school

  • Simply beautiful!!!!

"The wild one" is one of my favourite songs of Suede!!!Agree, "Dogmanstar" is really a masterpiece.....

  • There one thing that I always appreciated of Brett and Suede, his honesty, musically speaking. He's an artist, focused on the music. Does't need nothing else than play music, and express himself. They have been my favourite band for many years, and they will be in my heart forever. Thanks Brett.

By the way for me DogManStar was a masterpiece! don't care of any critics, simply wonderfull

  • fab

  • Yeah, admit it. We were all that "bad" back then.

  • One of "our" special songs we love to listen to with my girlfriend...Suede is so special, aren't them?

  • いいね_

  • ..suede desde siempre....muy bien...

  • La mejor entre las magníficas canciones de Suede.

  • M'encanta!!

I love it!! The song is great but Brett's voice is awesome!

  • Epic, this is one of my fave tracks by Suede, along with Beautiful Ones, Obsessions... and Trash, which is my very favourite one.

  • You have great taste, these are my favourite Suede tracks and Trash is the best

  • thank you... it's actually the only Suede song i remember to listen to when i was a little kid, back in 1997. 90's music is part of my life, and that's why i love songs like "Trash" so much: the perfect mix between pop and rock...

I became a Suede fan VERY VERY VERY recently. uh... 3 months ago, when i saw "Trash"'s video on MTV Two, included in their "brit rock anthems" list. I was like "this song?! OMG, i used to love it!" and then it was... now i own 3 Suede albums... :D

  • Bretts voice on this track is just fab

  • In my opinion The Beautiful Ones is my favorite song because the beat is fast and i dont even know what theyre saying If your in the hood try watching The Beautiful ones and judge

  • I think, this is the BEST song from SUEDE ! This video is very pleasant also, real masterpiece ! Brett walking on this road from nowhere, going to nowhere ! The whole picture is in BLUE colour, this is soooooo great !

  • Suede were really the catalyst that ignited interest in british guitar bands, simple as. They burned brightly, and quickly. Would loved to have seen them before they left us. Up there with morrissey, and Bowie, in my humble opinion..

  • ditto. well said, mcmaul. =). Another fascinating concept I like to point out is that Suede was very much influenced the Smiths and David Bowie. They lived up to the expectations. Good job Suede. =)

  • I love SUEDE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dont we all!

  • i'd have to disagree. I think the first album is the best. But Dog Man Star is the ultimate britpop album, if that's your style.

  • in my top 5 of the 90's

  • Dog Man Star... IS the album of the 90's I don't care if you come from America or Europe... this album is a sci-fi lullaby that will haunt us until the day we die...

  • Dog Man Star is one of the best albums of the 90s. Often overlooked.

  • love brett's hair in this.

  • This world needs a father should have been on sci-fi lullabies instead of bentswood boys.

  • Oh, and check out Muse's SUPERMASSIVE BLACKHOLE. The vocalist looks a bit like Brett, and the sound itself is obviously, greatly influenced by Suede, specifically by the tunes from Head Music. :p

One of the few reasons why Suede's tunes sound unacceptably ordinary.

  • maybe the best ballad ever? right there with wild horses by the stones for sure

  • bella cancion y hermoso el video ,grande suede

  • I didn't phrase that very well, but yeah breathtaking, effortless beauty.

  • There is no other word to describe this other than breathtaking

  • I have to agree with everyone that has posted... Dog Man Star is one of the best albums in the 90's... It's too bad that Suede never had great success in America... I live in Chicago and had a chance to see them live... I miss them very much... every song on that album moves me... Dog Man Star is a masterpiece.

  • I love that part with the bubble.

  • This is probably my fav suede song of my fav suede album, yes i agree it is the most underrated album ever, i think the only time i seen it mentioned anywhere was on 1001 albums to hear before you die. On this song i particularly love the guitar playing technique, it was written by bernard and it's so original it's amazing, it sounds totally different to any other guitarist of influence or of the era i.e. Marr, Squire, Coxon, Harrison, Howe. Can't forget to mention the lyrics, they're brilliant.

  • The album this is from,"DogManStar",is one of the most wonderful, haunting, underrated records of all time.I look at what passes for music nowadays, and blink back bitter tears...

  • I bought this album when it came out and listen to it regularly still. The rest of Suede's stuff I find quite ordinary. But THIS particular album is just...amazing...

  • Sorry, but I must disagree with the "the rest is ordinary" thinging, but that's your opinion so that's that. Anyway, IMO, it is very much so undeniable that DMS is one of Suede's greatest albums, though I must confess that I find every single on of 'em almost equally brilliant.

  • It's just that, Coming Up, ANM and Head Music are on the 3 top spots of my list, but all are almost equally rated, really. Every album showcases various/different styles and arrangements--very Suedey, not very Bowy, or Smithsy, or whatever. AND THAT'S BLEEDIN' BRILLIANT! It's not easy to be totally different, yet completely the same.

  • GEART SONG!!!!

  • I agree..

  • Wooohoooo this song is coooooooooooooooooooooollllllllllllllll

  • A song that really moves you

  • i am speechless

  • one of my fav songs

  • same here.

  • Wow, that lead singer is beautiful...not just his looks...that voice too!!

  • one of the only bands that have stayed with me...they were beautiful XXX

  • What a memories...

  • the aesthetic of the video is just perfect.

  • Oooh, what a beautiful song. It's even got just a little hint of bluesy Rolling Stones-ish 'sad-sweet'. I don't care if he's singing about his dog.

  • looks like no-one agrees with me then..... seriously they weren't exactly status quo when they showed up and i know only about 1.5 of their tunes have anything to do with gay sex but that was what they were labelled with from day one, which doesnt really help your commercial status and make radio stations want to play you... they r one of my favourite bands and dms my favourite album. Im just grateful they ever broke through being so different

  • amazing video for one of the best songs ever recorded. gorgeous

  • Please get together again for a tour of England Suede! I wasn't old enough to go to your other concerts!

  • very good song from their best album:)

  • none..

  • There are not words to describe this song

  • this song tears me up..

  • God I havent heard this in sooo long. And I still love it.

  • One thing Suede were fantastic at, was ending songs. Animal Nitrate, Trash, Heroine, The Power, Wild ones, etc. All have really amazing endings to them.

  • The best song ever, nothing more to say.

  • How suede never had a no 1 single is beyond me..,think top 3 was there highest with animal nitrate,,,..though did they hit number 2 with trash..,so much shit gets to number 1,its peobably a good thing in an ironic sense, suede r no 1 full stop of their time,.end of.

  • dude not everyone is going to get it:) We were lucky they broke through at all showing up like they did in in their flappy clothes singing about gay sex at a time when grunge and rave were all anyone cared about

  • this is beautiful... can still remenber a fantastic concert in wind and rain but nothing could keep them from giving us all dreams and hopes... please get2gether again.. then I can die in peace :-)

  • I started to listen Suede after -96, so I never saw this video.

And videos does not really matter.

I love Suede because of the music...always.

  • miss u Bernard Butler

  • I agree, glitterpants, it is a work of art. One of my favorite albums of all time. I remember the first time I heard this song, I was 15, and it left such an impression on me that to this day when I hear these songs it takes me back....Such a perfect album! :D .. this was my favorite song off the album, hands down! I always loved this part: "But oh if you stay we'll fly through disguised suburban graves,

We'll go from the bungalows where the debts still grow each day" Brilliant! :)

  • Dog man star is a work of art,my favourite album of all time just perfect.

  • yeah dog man star is so perfect

  • I agree! Each time I listen to it I'm in heaven!

  • Dog Man Star to me is one of the greatest albums ever...an overlooked 90's masterpiece. It has a complete mood of it's own. If anyone has any reservations about it (owing to the 'dark 2nd album' tag it usually gets), fear not. It's a breathtakingly beautiful piece of work. This tune here is a cracker but believe me, there's better stuff on the album. "Black Or Blue" is simply the best Suede song ever recorded. "Still Life" is great too. Buy this album people!

  • well put,i agree to it all.And i include "two of us" i the same categori as the best song ever.

  • And don't forget 'This Hollywood Life', awesome tune!! Real dragzZzter, have's it all what a man wants!!!

  • I couldn't agree more. Brett's vocals in Black or blue are astounding. Heroine i think is the overall highlight of this album. Great lyrics and great raw sound to it. I would say great vocals too, but i think that goes without saying for all Suede tracks!

  • For kookietur, slaisch and triggahfingah: not to condone downloading but try and find "Dog Man Star Live At The ICA", I think it was one of their farewell shows in which they perform the album in full. Captures the spirit really well, with or without Bernard Butler. Cheers.

  • I think if 'My Dark Star', 'Killing of a Flashboy' and 'The Living Dead' had been included instead of 'Introducing the Band', 'Daddy's Speeding' and 'This Hollywood Life' on Dog Man Star, then we would be talking about THE greatest album ever.

  • 'Introducing the band' was a great intro to the album. The other two songs have their place too.

This album, more than any of suedes others, works as a whole. I really don't think putting better individual songs into it would improve it.

  • Una de las mejores canciones que he oído en mi vida.

  • When Brett starts singing all the hairs stand up on end everywhere...beautiful song & an outstanding vocal!!!

  • impresionante y bella canción ,un clásico del brit pop

  • amazing song - a bright light in a shoddy year for music

  • I love it

  • Stunning track, though it's UK release was Autumn 1994, not 1995.

  • this is incredible voice of this guy

  • Gioia mia!!!! Ti amo da morire!!! Per sempre!!!!

  • This song and the clip are just FANTASTIC!!!

  • Watching that clip makes me feel that Suede were the last truely GREAT band the UK had. I'm sorry but The Editors, Klaxons, Hoosiers et all, FORGET IT!!!!!!!

  • The Go! Team, The Libertines, Patrick Wolfe, Radiohead, The Verve, I could go on, there's lots of great bands in Britain you just have to look. The Editors are a poor-man's Joy Division, the Klaxons don't if they should be the Happy Mondays or Radiohead, and well the Hoosiers... they so want to be an indie-Queen.

  • Radiohead, The Verve, I'll except into the fold. Howvever, this is very personal and I am simply not moved emotionally by those you have mentioned. The Hoosiers are fun and entertaining but NOT moving. Suede played big on emotion as do Radiohead. The Libertines? YUCH!!!

  • as an american, i agree with radiohead only. the libertines are alright. i think you guys might like a band called The Decemberists. look into them and tell me what you think, if you'd like.

  • The Libertines, second album in many ways parrallels "Dog Man Star", it documents the death of a friendship. But as you said, it's all based on personal opinion. There's also the Manchester band Elbow, Super Furry Animals, and whilst the Arctic Monkeys are laughed at by music snobs, who think they know best just cause they own say..."Metal Box" by PiL, the Arctics are still a very good young vibrant band, which'll come into it's own as they mature. Britain has alot of great bands still.

  • The song changed my life and percepcion of music.

    Great songs never die:-))
