wow twist the frame some more!!! and he would have busted his sheave, maybe even damaged his rope. i would have put my truck on top of the little hill he was on, more hieght to lift from, and king0cans is right you should never flop any sort of heavy vechicle over.
Wrong way to go about a mixer. The way I pick them up NEVER twists the frame or brakes cross members out. Yes they got the job done but they did it the cowboy way.
ive drove concrete trucks and have been into some really awkward places, such as on steep hills, tight contruction sites, soft ground and had no incidents..for this driver to roll one on level ground, my guess he took the turn a little too fast...hope he didnt get hurt too bad.
someone fliped one around here driving to fast killed a woman jackhole couldve slowed down ive driven big trucks before and ive never been in the rush these people get in no amount of money is worth killing yourself or someone else but i suppose everyone makes mistakes some people just dont learn from them
Not an expert on recovery , but i did drive mixer trucks and by the look of it the driver over cooked it on a turn with a full load . But forgive me if im wrong , but should the recovery driver be winching up the drum with a bit more effort to stop the cab twisting as it was being pulled up on twin ropes
My boss is Brandon Mcneilus, the son of the founder of Mcneilus co. and owner of ready mixer concrete corp. I also dont put down my bridgemaster unless i have 5 yards or more, and pushers at 8yrds.
gfpd2722, the axle in the back is called a booster or tag axle. It spreads out the weight of the load and allows a heavier load to be legally carried. There is a pressure dial between the cap and water tank that the driver adjusts according to the amount of ready-mix he is hauling. If he is hauling three yards or less the axle will be up.
I will tell you hw he rolled it. The road that he was on had a hill on it and he was day dreaming. He forgot he had to turn in to the side road, when he reliezed he had to turn he stood on the brakes and got them hot and tried to make the corner anyway. He could have went straight and turned around. The driver is a polock I know this for a fact. He is a good guy, but a little slow.
how/why did he roll in the first place? i only see that 90deg turn and if he was going to fast to roll, he would have gone into the field to the right of the camera. just curious...
I'd laugh if it fell again!!!

Also you should NEVER "flop" a mixer back over.

@kawa7900 looks like he should have used a snatch block to double the line on teh drum. He can't seem to get the leverage to lift it.
