Just heard this on the radio. Check out 'DARE' by Stan Bush from original Transformers The movie soundtrack before over-rating this song. Someone like Springsteen should have more up his sleeve than this. 'The Boss' indeed!
They made huge albums in the mid 80s. Micheal (sadly) had no idea what to do next. Bruce did what he always does when he faces mass adoration. He went off and did something completely different.
i love how springstein has taken an eddie vedder approach to his vocals these days and vica versa two musical geniuses rubbing off of eachother kida gives you hope music
my fav song frm the album is this life.. then last carnival then thus- an outlaw pete will come into its own in concert wen i see him in hyde park june 28th cant wait see u there guys
sweet song cant wait for album, ne 1 got guitar hero fron the 27th till feb 5 or something this sont and born to run is up for free d/l on x box live bout time they bought some boss on there!!
exactly....most likely co-incedence....there are only so many meoldy's out there....some are bound to sound alike before too long. Look at the rolling stones song "has anybondy seen my baby" then compare the chorus of that song to canadian artist K.D. Lang's previously released "constant craving"....
Why does he sound like John Mellencamp? I LOVE Bruce, and not that this is a bad song, but it's just not BRUCE. It's sounds like mid eighties Mellencamp. Though it pains me to say/ write it.
Um actually this is great. Enough of what??? This album will be another number one for good reason, yet you tell him to stop. Thanx for not being his manager.
Tight, explosive E Street energy with a killer hook and vocal! Bruce continues his roll. I think the album is going to pleasantly surprise a lot of people.
Hey, I Don't like AC/DC either. But i listened to those two songs... and this song is very similar to the chorus of "You shook me all night long". Maybe Bruce has a permission to use it.
i think the parts are just similar. there are only 12 notes in western music theory...of all the songs out there, some are going to sound similar. bruce doesn't need permission to use the A and D chords.
i dunno, i didn't notice it until it was pointed out to me, and even then, i have to really be listening for it...i can hear it if i really try to, but i don't think its anywhere near similar enough to be misconstrued for AC/DC, or a copy of "you shook me all night long."
I heard Springsteen will be accused of plagiarism. It seems this song has the same melody of ac/dc's "you shook me all night long" (the chorus part). In fact is equal...
niall29: Thanks, but are you sure the E Street Band was inducted too? I thought it was just Bruce so far. I hope they're all in... (I googled yesterday and couldn't find proof...)
All I know is they knock my socks off every summer. BEST EVER HANDS DOWN. :)
No matter how you look at it, Bruce keeps going! Even though these new songs aren't "anthems" they are still great! To top it off he kicks anyones ass as a live performer. Love ya Bruce and the ESB!
this is way better than Working on a Dream. This is the true E-Street Band. Working on a Dream almost sounded like it should have been on Devils & Dust. And we all know, that wasn't his best album. But, this song is amazing.

So far, two tracks from this upcoming CD have been made available and so far both of them aren't even as good as the B-sides that were released in 1980-1988.

Shiny Saw Blade Lives! Jeremy and the crybabies at trashstreets can listen to this song, but I'll take Darkness On The Edge of Town over this any day. Bruce is pretty much rushing to put out poor music. He never had throwaways on his albums until 1992. Now, 40% of his records have "Tracks" worthy material on it.
perhaps correct, maybe not,.......but in 1978, he was 28 or 29. In 1992 he was 42 or so.....only so much time left really? So back then, much time to play, tinker, probably forgot more lyrics, than remembered....time passes, and we find ourselves rushing to fit a lot in.....maybe give 'em a break.
Not bad. Better than the title track, but I imagine there will be much better ones. But don't all of Springsteen's best songs never become singles? :)
Very Nice, bigger sound and better mixed than the Magic album. Glad to hear the instuments and vocals at the higher range. This one will play live really well this summer.
