  • hey there i am looking for a song called the flute ......i think its by cherri it is on the same record lable please help

  • GERALDINE HUNT again!

  • THANKYOU!!!! FOR UNPLOADING THIS!!!!!

  • I was just sitting here thinking I need to find this..but I just remembered I have it already, mine is the US pressing on Venture. Threw me off a bit. Great tune!

  • !!!!!!!

  • choon

  • dowsemeister2, you mean David Frank?

David Frank and Mic Murphy were "The System". Frank's an awesome synth player.

  • @Thopter Sorry I didn't write back to you 9 mths ago! Yes that's right! David Frank. What a nice guy he was. He came up to Montreal to help us hook up our new home recording studio. He and Kashif knew all about the Oberheim gear that was so new back then.

  • @dowsemeister Who was the drummer on this song?

  • @downjones72 I don't know who did the drum overdub track. The original track was an Oberheim DMX

  • @dowsemeister Thanks for the info Mr Dowse. Love the songs you co-wrote for Cheri. Especially No Communication.

  • THIS IS MUSIC!!!

  • Give the Man His MONEY !!!!!

  • Absolutely Fantastic. This was a big hit when I DeeJayed. I retired after @ 35 years of DJing.

    Thanks Much BioBiro! :-)

    Take Care & Peace!

    DJ Daver®

  • Hey BioBiro! thanx for finding these Cheri tunes. I wrote and played bass and some keys on all these tunes. Unfortunately law suits and lost revenues made me not listen to them for all these years.

  • Hi Peter! Wow, i'm surprised you found this. I heard that the record company behind Cheri's stuff took off with most of the royalties. The bassline to Murphy's Law is one of my favourites by the way.

  • Yeah you're right about the royalties. Some great keyboard overdubs played by this guy David who was working on his own band "The System" He went on to write the big hit for Chaka Khan. Kashif got him for us.

It was a crazy time! Some great memories.

  • Awesome Bass player thx for the great tunes.

    Royalties are due!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where are the girls now? After they made this album, they disappeared

  • I don't know where they are today. Most likely in Montreal. I lost contact during the mid 80s

  • Dowsemeister, I love the music you wrote with Geraldine Hunt and Freddie James. Also 'Give It To Me Baby' and ' No Communication' are off the hook. Pure musicianship - the chords, the playing, everything. One doesn't hear that kind of vibe in music anymore unfortunately. Those jams have that.

  • @dowsemeister Freddie is a personal friend(went to high school with him and his sister Roslyn(that's her real name) )and you're right,,Freddie is pretty big here in Montreal in the live band bar scene. As for Roslyn, she played with Freddie in his band for many years then left.Since then I have no clue where she is.Check out freddie on facebook.Just type "freddie james project",,it should come up.

    Peace

  • well one of them is my mom the Lynne and i don't know what happened to the other

  • @dowsemeister2 Bassline is definition of groove here :) thanx for this man !

  • @chebakidriss Thanks - still sounds good after all these years

  • Thanks for sharing this, BioBiro. I've had the "Cheri" LP for years and had no idea that 'Star Struck' was any different on the 12". Hearing this was definitely an unexpected treat. 'No Communication' was my other favorite on the album.

  • many thanks, great track
