He made a somewhat copy of Indiana Jones. But the team want he became she. Toby even didn't create first biography of Lara (I forget who's her name). He then left far before TR became huge hit but he claimed he left because he didn't like the way Lara promoted in sexual way (which is Eidos' marketing team, not Core).

Okay, he said he left because Lara sexed up, but Core never put Lara wearing very revealing outfits in game. But in Legend, new Lara wore very revealing outfit in Japan level, with very low cleavage area and even ripped in later game. Even Lara can wear bikinis in her manor! WTF. I even heard from many TR fans that Gard admitted he didn't play previous titles. If that's true, WTF, again.

the plot was interesting-a little creepy in my opinion-and the addition of kurtis was a nice change for tomb raider. the graphics were poor but the storyline made up for it. i like how it was a continuation from the last revelation-they held onto the story but began to change it and made lara's life darker.
@DrFalcon222 and Tiff2d6, but the story,soundtrack and voice acting is very good. Even if the game is full of glitches and the controls are bad, you're want to push on, to see the last stand of classic Core Design Lara Croft.
@Tiff2d6 I wanna say it's on steam....and it does suck...probably the worst in the series BUT it does have an excellent story and is a nice conclusion to the Core Design Saga.
@PrincessDrawDream You do realize that crystal dynamics saved lara right? core wanted to kill her off and make some retarted monster hunter game with kurtis. they tried with last revalation and failed because edios wanted nothing to do with it. trust me they would have done it sooner or later if they were not replaced.

This is the only Tomb Raider game I ever beat. lol. But i've played all of them. I'd say all the ones made after this were not as good as the rest. Still enjoyed them, but they were lacking in something... just my opinion. I think 4 is my favorite and most played (just lost the game before I beat the last level).
What, peopled didn't like it? I thought this game was cool. Then again, anything Tomb Raider related, you can find me right there with it. I LOVE Tomb Raider, and find it hard to believe that anyone could hate it. I think anything Lara Croft related is awesome.
Anyone else want Crystal Dynamics to remaster this game in HD for the PS3 like they did with TR Legend and TR: Anniversary? If they ever do, I can guarantee I'll buy because I got rid of my PS2 several years ago and I want to play this game again.

TBH I wasn't very sure on this level becuase it stuck so many times and well i couldnt even play it becuase of that and well the theme doesn't sound anything like the original but it does at some point so it does get better! xx
I couldn't beat it, once I seen that I could get killed by the dog in the very beginning in one hit, I seriously looked at it and laughed, level skipped and laughed
Even the game directors said "We're taking gamers to a place that they don't want to be in, but it gets Lara through her adventures!" (Fuck you! If we don't want to be there, that's what matters, Lara ain't paying good money for this!)
Also Lara murdered hundreds of people, Von Croy shouldn't have been deemed so special.
I have this for the PS2; was fun except when all the bugs started to happen because the developers were never given the time they needed to really hammer out all the bugs. It could have been great but it ended up being kind of an unfinished game. Also it had some pointless aspects to it as well.
@HerrWeinachten Totally, if you watch the '10 years of Lara Croft' the makers even said tha they were pushed to far on this game and they missed alot of deadlines. But i have to agree was this game was fun in some ways and i have it fro ps2 toke me a while to get used to the controls but after that the games seemed fun. (apart from when your in that 'serpant rouge' or whatever, and they play that really annoying music while your just climbing the disco lights haha)
Music was brilliant, gameplay was brilliant, just unfinished. If Eidos had let them finish then maybe we'd be playing the next part of the AOD Trilogy. Sad really.
Music is awesome but I really didn't like the archaeological dig going into tomb of the ancients cos u had to go all the way back up and it was loooooonnnnnggg!! Apart from that it was go. It was better in. The second half of the game tho the monstrum did freak me out with the reporter. Woah that image still haunts me now....
@EmoReeby Kurtis isn't coming back, after the Legend reboot, Kurtis just died and decayed with the story from all the other TRs, and not Zip and Alister are dying off too, it is just Lara again, nobody else but her. And nobody from the old games are coming back, It is a totally different and new story.
@EmoReeby Well, I wish they would bring the older type games back too, but if they wouldn't have rebooted, just think of what it may be like, like Halo, that story just DRAGS ON...... and it needs to be rebooted or stopped by now. Just, none of the old characters will come back unless the story goes into her life as it is now if Square decides for the next next game to make her start into the 99 version of TR1.
personally, i love this game, and i REALLY see nothing wrong with it. it may be just because i've had this game since i was 6, but really nothing is so terribly wrong with it that it needs all the hate that it got. i played the PS2 version. Controls-easy. the hardest bit was how jump and roll were swiched.
story-FANTASTIC! i love the way they set up the louvre levels.

This game drove me INSANE when i first got it, and I hated it, but then I stopped thinking of it as a Tomb Raider like the old ps1 ones, and as a different game in its own right, and I absolutely loved it. Got the hang of it (eventually) and I've replayed it loads of times. It's great!
I actually loved this game! Never had a problem like everyone else did. If Eidos hadn't pushed Core into completing it, I would think that AOD would've been one of the best games of the PS2. It had great graphics, storyline and focused on more characters, the combat system was fucked up though.
I keep getting Robocop vibes between 0:40 to about 1:20, I never played the game but I have always liked the music in these games, thanks for the upload.
I think I was around 9 when I played this and I fell in love with it. <3 This game was the last, best tomb raider game. I do like the new ones but... I miss the old ones. Which is why I keep my PS1 which is unfortunately getting old and slow now. But the good thing is, I can play the old Tomb Raider games during long journey's in the car. I really want this game to continue, with each new Tomb Raider that comes out, I want it to continue.
Okay, it's usually not my style to comment anything; but... What can I say?
Even though AoD revealed to be flawful, they tried to make it good, and some parts of the game prove this. I've been one of the 100 first people in France to get it, and that was the mistake. We were so eager that Core didn't endure the pression and released A.D early, it's technically our fault. All what mattered was that AoD had good intentions to begin with anyway. Not like certain games today.

Anyone else want Crystal Dynamics to remaster this game in HD for the PS3 like they did with TR Legend and TR: Anniversary? If they ever do, I can guarantee I'll buy because I got rid of my PS2 several years ago and I want to play this game again.

TBH I wasn't very sure on this level becuase it stuck so many times and well i couldnt even play it becuase of that and well the theme doesn't sound anything like the original but it does at some point so it does get better! xx

This game.
I couldn't beat it, once I seen that I could get killed by the dog in the very beginning in one hit, I seriously looked at it and laughed, level skipped and laughed
Even the game directors said "We're taking gamers to a place that they don't want to be in, but it gets Lara through her adventures!" (Fuck you! If we don't want to be there, that's what matters, Lara ain't paying good money for this!)
Also Lara murdered hundreds of people, Von Croy shouldn't have been deemed so special.

I have this for the PS2; was fun except when all the bugs started to happen because the developers were never given the time they needed to really hammer out all the bugs. It could have been great but it ended up being kind of an unfinished game. Also it had some pointless aspects to it as well.

@HerrWeinachten Totally, if you watch the '10 years of Lara Croft' the makers even said tha they were pushed to far on this game and they missed alot of deadlines. But i have to agree was this game was fun in some ways and i have it fro ps2 toke me a while to get used to the controls but after that the games seemed fun. (apart from when your in that 'serpant rouge' or whatever, and they play that really annoying music while your just climbing the disco lights haha)

1:23 - 3:04 is emotional.
Music was brilliant, gameplay was brilliant, just unfinished. If Eidos had let them finish then maybe we'd be playing the next part of the AOD Trilogy. Sad really.

Music is awesome but I really didn't like the archaeological dig going into tomb of the ancients cos u had to go all the way back up and it was loooooonnnnnggg!! Apart from that it was go. It was better in. The second half of the game tho the monstrum did freak me out with the reporter. Woah that image still haunts me now....

@EmoReeby Kurtis isn't coming back, after the Legend reboot, Kurtis just died and decayed with the story from all the other TRs, and not Zip and Alister are dying off too, it is just Lara again, nobody else but her. And nobody from the old games are coming back, It is a totally different and new story.

@EmoReeby Well, I wish they would bring the older type games back too, but if they wouldn't have rebooted, just think of what it may be like, like Halo, that story just DRAGS ON...... and it needs to be rebooted or stopped by now. Just, none of the old characters will come back unless the story goes into her life as it is now if Square decides for the next next game to make her start into the 99 version of TR1.

personally, i love this game, and i REALLY see nothing wrong with it. it may be just because i've had this game since i was 6, but really nothing is so terribly wrong with it that it needs all the hate that it got. i played the PS2 version. Controls-easy. the hardest bit was how jump and roll were swiched.
story-FANTASTIC! i love the way they set up the louvre levels.
Music-i want to buy this song but i cant. its like an eargasm
OVERALL-amazing, my favorite ONLY next to the second one.

Story exelent, i played on PC and good controls (actually the same as the other previous games)!!
And one thing that i like most on the game, besides the story, is Lara's classic appearance, shes was perfect in the AOD like the other older ones!!! Now, she still pretty on legend and underworld, but its not the same thing!

This game drove me INSANE when i first got it, and I hated it, but then I stopped thinking of it as a Tomb Raider like the old ps1 ones, and as a different game in its own right, and I absolutely loved it. Got the hang of it (eventually) and I've replayed it loads of times. It's great!

I actually loved this game! Never had a problem like everyone else did. If Eidos hadn't pushed Core into completing it, I would think that AOD would've been one of the best games of the PS2. It had great graphics, storyline and focused on more characters, the combat system was fucked up though.

I think I was around 9 when I played this and I fell in love with it. <3 This game was the last, best tomb raider game. I do like the new ones but... I miss the old ones. Which is why I keep my PS1 which is unfortunately getting old and slow now. But the good thing is, I can play the old Tomb Raider games during long journey's in the car. I really want this game to continue, with each new Tomb Raider that comes out, I want it to continue.

Okay, it's usually not my style to comment anything; but... What can I say?
Even though AoD revealed to be flawful, they tried to make it good, and some parts of the game prove this. I've been one of the 100 first people in France to get it, and that was the mistake. We were so eager that Core didn't endure the pression and released A.D early, it's technically our fault. All what mattered was that AoD had good intentions to begin with anyway. Not like certain games today.
This theme rocks BTW.
