Nice video! I started caching this summer with my CJ-7. There should be a special group of caches just for jeepers. I have covered alot of desert with mine!
Kudos on the video! I'm a geocacher and TV producer and I just moved from Canada to the Middle East where some of the most extreme geocaches ever created are. I'm developing a new geocache-exploration TV show and we're shooting the pilot episode for satellite TV (how fitting!) in the next few days. Check out the GC forum's Arabian Peninsula section for more info. One of the caches we're hoping to do if the show gets picked up is GCAA76, but we're shooting the pilot with GC2NYGF. Contact me!
The 46 users who voted this video down are losers. This is awesome! I love extreme caching! I did Al Sabo last fall and attempted the Dunes series in Michigan City last spring but had to abort due to heat exhaustion 1/3 of the way through the hike. I'll be back to finish it. In good weather, I might finish it in a day.
I'm going this weekend in spite of the recent blizzard. Don't give a shit if everything is covered in snow. It's in my blood.
@viiiwonder It really depends. Most caches that are properly placed on public lands, or with the permission of the land owner, are pretty safe. I've only really seen problems when a cache is improperly placed on privately owned timber land. For example, if the land owner doesn't know the cache is there, and the cachers are trespassing on his property.
That's awesome!! Makes me want to jump into our Wrangler and really go hit some extreme caches!! (not sure about in the snow, however. you don't want to see this TX driver in the snow...)
I just started geocaching today.... found one, did not find the other and it was deeeeep woods in cold rain. I will be out tomorrow morning to find the one that git away. Great video!
I love geocaching!!! There is something about collecting totally worthless items and wasting my time that really makes it worth it to me!! 10 Woots for GEOCACHING!!!!!!!!
OK, we need a Cacher Exchange Program...You send some guys here for some caching in the swamps of Florida and we send some up there for some caching in the Mountains of Oregon.
Awesome video dude! Mountains, Jeeps, and Geocaching; what more could anyone ask for. I had a '91 YJ not long ago. Though I had to sell it. It broke my heart. :( I can't wait until I get another one!!!
Um, yeah, could you just sign our name to those logs while you're there? LOL Great job on the video. Some of those locations are just gorgeous (and some scary!).
Wow, it's been a while since I've checked on this video. Thank you for all of the positive comments. I went ahead and updated the video's description to answer many of the questions posted here.
Video is worth watching. Some really neat photos of caching in the beginning. After awhile it seems to be all about the Jeep though. Thanks for the post. Was that pinecone a geocache???
Great Video - here in California we complain "it's too hot or it's too cold (as in it's raining) to go Caching!" hehe. I'd like to try caching in the snow - would be a lot more challenging! --lovesreward
I enjoyed this video as well! Btw here in Sweden we got the "Fumble After Dark" event. Last year it was all dark, all snow, and the event was hosted on Swedish military grounds... The army dudes were hiding in the woods watching us with night vision and sniper scopes while we were trying to find the caches ;-) It went fairly well without any major accidents, but a few (including myself) learned the hard lesson that under the snow you may find COLD water...
Hm...These are the big ones: 2.5" Rubicon Express Lift, sway bar disconnects, 31" BFG MTs, 130amp Alternator, performance intake and exhaust, hand throttle...
What is Geocaching? Essentially, using multi-million dollar technology to search for tupperware in the woods. Using a Global Positioning System, the website (geocaching.com), and a good pair of hiking shoes, one goes forth into the world in search of hidden treasure!
Thanks so much for sharing this with the rest of us GeoNuts. Care to drop some geocaching.com usernames and waypoint IDs? I would love to read logs for some of these finds.

Geocaching isn't baseball, it is like war, or football. You don't call it off for bad weather or a little rain...or snow. That was a sweet video.
