The LAPD and any other law enforcement agency for that matter have ranks, so don't go assuming that the LAPD doesn't have the right to say "hooorah" they've been around just as long as the army has.

And that only applies to a few departments. Just because they may use military rank and some terminology does'nt tie them in as military. I was In the LASD academy, it was fun and hardcore at the same time. It seems like the LAPD academy is less stressful as i heard from my friends who been in LAPD academy in the past years.. LAPD should make a show showing how their academy life is like. . that would kick ass.
