When you have a relapse, it makes you think, or believe, that everything's going to be alright in a way... So let's sit and listen to this marvellous song my friends. :)
after this album had come out i was amazed to hear people calling it under-par. At first i struggled to like Feral, but thats the only song on the album that i've had to warm to. In my opinion this is up there with HTTT and In Rainbows, but they have yet to create something as good as Kid A
i dont know if it's me or not but I think they should have switched this song with separator. It just feels to me that this song is a better ending song, the tone and feel it has. But other than that I freaking love this album, yeah it does take some time to take in but once it does, it's like, "WOW what the hell was I thinking, this album is amazing."
This entire album is a complete masterpiece. Feral is the only track I had trouble getting into, but it wasn't intended to be easily accessible. This song brings me to tears very easily. It's just so beautiful I cry.
was going to buy the tickets for TKOL tour in austin, tx and they sold out the day after they went on sale online. so disappointing... now i'm going to have to hunt like a hungry lion
this isent even that good its just some guy playeing the same note 374 times and a dude in the backgroun hotting his trumpit .. .i will never undestand how ppl like radioheads
@KhalidMuhijadeen Because it's beatiful, I see you don't like it, you're into diferent music, that's your thing, I don't comment much but I just wanna say this is about life and death and it makes me apreciate life, somthing most songs connot do, it may be simple, but less is more, it's the simplest things that can show the intence beaty of life :)
@AlvinHDavernport I personalize it unfortunately, OK was one of the most important pieces of art in my life, which it changed inexorably. I embraced Kid A, flirted with the rest.
@saganemc2 I agree that OK Computer is a piece of unsurpassed beauty and it's likely that neither Radiohead nor any other band on Earth will ever match it, but really, there are many tracks from recent albums that don't sound "experimental" at all. In fact, In Rainbows is meant to be a perfect complement, song by song, to OK. Jigsaw Falling Into Place is a perfect example of a recent Radiohead track that sounds 100% like the Radiohead I've always loved.
Just watched the exquisite performance of this on Jimmy Fallow's show and couldn't help but marvel at how much this band has matured as songwriters from the Pablo Honey days (though bookends "You" and "Blow Out" still hold up pretty well).
This song is transcendently simple and peace inducing. You gotta love the intimacy of just him and Johnny on stage intoning steady pleas for the past to stay in the past.
Also, reading these topmost comments in conjunction with this song made me cry.
This album came out a week after my grandmother passed away and I can literally feel her warmth everytime I listen to this song...I can not explain what that feels like but I can say that although it is sad, it is also beautiful and I listen to this song whenever I want to remember her...
this song is underrated nobody says it is the best on this album, everyone says is Codex, Lotus Flower, Bloom, but I like this better and for me It is one of the best songs ever written by Thom
@ThomRadioheadYorke Damn i still can't wrap my head around bloom. Its fun to listen to but It doesn't take me anywhere like this song does a million times.
@ThomRadioheadYorke I agree that this is underrated for the album, and it does sound great. The basement version is even better. But I think more people would agree with me when I said Paranoid Android is their best song.
@michaelfeldman91 I completely disagree with you there. I am a huge Radiohead fan, and I find both Paranoid Android and Everything in its Right Place mediocre. Give Up The Ghost and Weird Fishes/Arpeggi are my favorites by them. Yes, I'm weird, but their "best" song is really hard to declare for a band as diverse as Radiohead.
@GoOnMaggotBrain I love Life in a Glasshouse, though I prefer the version with the extended jazz introduction. I feel that jazz is a music form of passion, humanity, and improvisation, while Life in a Glasshouse is about, to me, how everything we do is monitored and regulated a la Foucault. To me, it provides a nice contrast.
@DeviousPie2 I love all four songs you mentioned equally as they are all brilliant and way beyond mediocre. Paranoid Android is their Bohemian Rhapsody. Weird Fishes is sooo amazing! IT's all greatness to me. Radiohead is greatness. I look foward to more stuff from these guys! :) Happy Holidays to all Radiohead fans!
@ThomRadioheadYorke ah really? This was my favorite from the start, haunting song one of their best! (and then of course Codex and Separator, the rest of TKOL is a mere so-so for radiohead I think)
I had alot of trouble with this album. The rythym's were hard to pick up, the lyrics seemed ambiguous and totally abstract. If it weren't for this, codex and and a couple others I wouldn't have given this album a second chance and realised what a freaking masterpiece it is.
@RonaldinhoReborn Same with me. And now Bloom is actually probably my favorite Radiohead song ever. I'd never have gotten into the album if it wasn't for the last half of it though.
@dpthomas37 This isn't the last song. Separator is. Sorry, don't wanna be a "call out" doucebag, but I just want you to have your Radiohead facts straight. lol
The sense I get out of this song comes from when I was depressed and felt like the ghosts of the king of Limbs cover or like Kaftka's Cockroach, Gregory Samsa, and finally realize, after therapy, that there is hope and that I can life a good life
@mysalsadamo I can see what you mean, but I still think their most Zeppeliniest song is Go to Sleep.
In any way, I really like this song and this album. It's an album that you really have to want to enjoy to enjoy, but I'd say it's tied with In Rainbows for my third favorite album (after Ok Computer and The Bends).
I think that Radiohead`s lyrics have changed trough out the years.
How to dissapear completely, street spirit, life in a glass house, let down are entirely different from the lyrics in The King Of Limbs. Radiohead sounds so much more possitive and at ease in this album.
some of their songs you know you're gonna like but have to listen to on loop to really convince yourself you do. Not this one. Loved it from first listen.
i put this song and remember my aunt i took care of for a year. She had cancer and we all did everything we could for her recovery, but she died. She was the most loving person you will ever meet angel like. She loved life simple conversations with family and being around family made her happy. I put this song and remember her and cry, I just let it out.
There's something haunting, bittersweet and arresting about Thom's voice and their sound, something very special. I've found that as one of those English major types/writer that Thom's lyrics are just vague enough to affix themselves readily upon whatever inner process I'm working through, just metaphorical enough that an unimstakable personal connection is made; in other words, it feels like it speaks to me...an approachable quality, like you could crawl inside them.
You know, radiohead has this special thing that makes me feel like the time stops and everything around vanishes... I just cannot turn off one of their songs when its playing.
@Kemordia of course. but my bad i think i asked this to the wrong person...they said something about not liking it all. you're statement makes complete sense.
Bollocks to the lot of you. Radiohead have never, and will never make a bad album. Sure, The King of Limbs isn't OK Computer or The Bends, but its still a masterpiece in its own right. Fact.
It's so uncommon for radiohead to "play safe" when creating albums. They did it for this one, and still I think it's a great album. It falls short compared to others, but i still think it's neat.
2:42 is my favorite part. "I think I should give up the ghooost... Into your aaarms." Simply majestic. Long after this song has ended you will hear "don't hurt me, don't haunt me" playing in the background of your mind...probably when you least expect it. 4/5 stars
2:42 - 2:55 is my favorite part. "I think I should give up the ghooost... Into your aaarms." Simply majestic. Long after this song has ended you will hear "don't hurt me, don't haunt me" playing in the background of your mind...probably when you least expect it. 4/5 stars
this album sucks bigtime...plain and simple...don't overcomplicate everybody...we dont have to call this music just because we don't want to hurt radiohead's feelings
@mdilla11 yeah i notice people get really polar about this album, and actually radiohead in general. its like you either would never listen to them or they're your favorite band
well, I am that way about Radiohead, but not about other bands---something about their music strikes a personal chord with me that other groups don't--- I can't say why, I like a lot of other groups, and I don't mind other people feeling whatever way they want about a band---but their music just affects me differently
but I wasn't raised listening to modern music, too, so maybe that has summat to do with it?! I dunno

this is probably the best song in this album although I haven't listened to it carefully....Thom's voice just makes it. It's not an easy one, and I know that these songs will grow in people who appreciate their music. Just a question of time.
So amazing. 'Tis uncanny how well these lyrics fit my life. Feelin' strangely emotionally attuned to these guys... thank you for posting the album so i can have it in my playlist <3
Gather up the lust in your soul Into your arms, into your arms Gather up the painful Into your arms, into your arms Into your arms, into your arms What seems impossible Into your arms, into your arms I think i have had my fill Into your arms, into your arms Into your arms, into your arms I think I should give up the ghost Into your arms Into your arms Into your arms Into your arms.... spacings off, I know

2:42 is my favorite part. "I think I should give up the ghooost... Into your aaarms." Simply majestic. Long after this song has ended you will hear "don't hurt me, don't haunt me" playing in the background of your mind...probably when you least expect it. 4/5 stars

this album sucks bigtime...plain and simple...don't overcomplicate everybody...we dont have to call this music just because we don't want to hurt radiohead's feelings
mdilla11 1 year ago
@mdilla11 Interesting, that you comprehend that "we don't want to hurt radioheads feelings".How overcomplicated are you?
theannuki 1 year ago
@mdilla11 Wrong...Correction, the first half of this album sucks. The second half of the album is fantastic!

@mdilla11 yeah i notice people get really polar about this album, and actually radiohead in general. its like you either would never listen to them or they're your favorite band

@ibrahamofsudan
well, I am that way about Radiohead, but not about other bands---something about their music strikes a personal chord with me that other groups don't--- I can't say why, I like a lot of other groups, and I don't mind other people feeling whatever way they want about a band---but their music just affects me differently
but I wasn't raised listening to modern music, too, so maybe that has summat to do with it?! I dunno

There's something haunting, bittersweet and arresting about Thom's voice and their sound, something very special. I've found that as one of those English major types/writer that Thom's lyrics are just vague enough to affix themselves readily upon whatever inner process I'm working through, just metaphorical enough that an unimstakable personal connection is made; in other words, it feels like it speaks to me...an approachable quality, like you could crawl inside them.

this is probably the best song in this album although I haven't listened to it carefully....Thom's voice just makes it.

All the songs on this album are old songs that they never released. So this album was never anything new, but its such a great album!

@majuju8boy Where did you get that idea. We only knew about a couple of "old" songs in the album.
