  • I have a 2004 Mazda 3S Hatchback. Will this work for my car?

  • @reynaldo05 Yes it will. Being a first year Mazda 3 you will lose the upper LCD functionality but everything else will work.

  • Dreamghost77, Unfortunately this unit does not interface with the Mazda 3's system other than the steering wheel controls. There is another unit out there that will display on the upper LCD but its been a while since I looked it up and it was around $1000 with the only difference being that it displayed on the LCD.

  • Warning!!! Do not buy from these people!!! I bought a car stereo from them off ebay. It did not work from the minute I installed it. No sound at all. I contacted them immediately to return it. Sent countless emails. Paid return shipping. The radio is still sitting on my porch 2 months later and now they won't respond to my emails. And supposedly they offer a 1 year warranty. The stereo didn't even work for 1 minute! Worst experience I have ever had buying something off ebay.

  • i installed one like this, but i has a problem, the led display and the steering wheel control dont work, can you help me about how to fix that? thx

  • will the AUX input in the centre console plug into this stereo? or will you lose that input.. and also is there anyway to keep the lcd display to show the time and temperature?

  • @AnthAdamo23 You will lose the factory AUX input in the center console but you can always run a RCA-to-3.5mm cable from the input on the back into the center console or stream audio via Bluetooth if your device supports it. If your 3 is an '06 or newer you can retain the upper LCD by swapping stereos with the ignition on. You'll need the original to change the time whenever needed but if your trip computer is unlocked you can set the LCD to display one of the readouts before swapping.

  • @monkikiyt Wait so if I have a 2006 3 then I can pop this in without losing any features that come with the car? Everything will be the same just with this amazing looking head unit in there? and does this have a sub out so I can hook up these two 10s i have? and what do you mean I will need the original to change the time?

  • Will this unit work in a 2005 SP23? I am not sure if it has the BOSE sound in it or not. Other SP23s same year as mine has BOSE decals on the speakers, mine has just a plain black cover.

  • @cmking1989 Then yes it will work. You'll lose your upper LCD with the outside temperature but the deck will work.

  • Word of wisdom for anyone trying to install with a BOSE premium system, I do not recommend this unit unless you use a different amp/sub. You can NOT just plug and play... I was unable to get the digital amp/sub under the passenger/drives seat to work well-it had horrid sound quality, and then later interference.

However if you plan on a separate amp/sub setup, this is a GREAT unit for the price. It has been reliable for 7+ months.

  • @wynnbryce I got my 2006 Mazda 3 used and I was wondering how I can tell if it is a BOSE? Probably a dumb question I know sorry but thanks in advance for your help

  • @wynnbryce Not true. I just installed one in my Speed3 with with Bose amp/sub. All you need to do is take the amp control wire out of the Eonon unit, and tap it into the blue wire with silver markings (pin 13) on the stock wire harness. Everything works perfect.

  • Thanks...it does not have an auto baud rate setting. you can manually scan the COM ports but it starts at 4800 and goes up. It was working, but I do remember that after the install, the system kept rebooting itself. Then the video screen was in and out, kinda like the cpu is bad. I have sent message to EONON about it.

  • Well I spoke too soon on everything working!! The GPS quit working and says no signal..I am sure that the wires did not come out from back of the unit for the antenna....any suggestions?

  • @gqcwby Check the GPS settings. The modem baud rate has to be set to auto I believe. Otherwise it won't work.

  • Got everything working...didnt realize you had to BOOT the GPS from one of the windows icon folder/app on the touchscreen..Once it went, all works well. And the zoom is merely accomplished by turning the radio tuning dial! All is working well !! SWEET!!

  • @gqcwby Glad to hear all is well. If you want to give iGo a try, you'll need to get a copy then setup the SD card like the one that came with the Eonon and name the iGo .exe the same as the Polnav's .exe.

  • They installed the antenna box on the dash and it is all plugged in, however when you click on GPS, it only shows the directory folders of the files to run it. Do I need to put another disk in to make it work? On this unit, it is using a micro disc adapted to a SD card. How do I get IGO? or another software to use? Apparently this one is corrupt or not working...HELP!!

  • I got the stereo/gps head unit today. Shipped from Hong Kong on Monday and delivered to me by Wednesday. FAST!! I had it professionally installed. I do know that you MUST reset the unit a couple times to make everything "sync" correctly. I was noticing that the Steering Wheel control was a bit delaying the volume until I did this. The bluetooth works excellent and the sound and mic work great. DVD is very sharp and the CD is good. It kept rebooting a few times at first. Only problem is the GPS

  • Just as long as the other items work good. Especially the GPS and the BLUETOOTH Phone, the Radio and the DVD. Speaking of DVD, is it wired to turn ononly when the handbrake is applied? NOT that I plan on watching a movie while I am driving...RIGHT? Hope the unit looks good in the 2009 Mazda 3 and I have no issues with anything working, broken or bent pins or etc. Thanks again for the response!

  • @gqcwby The OEM LCD won't display anything from the deck due to a lack of CAN BUS support but will show the temp and time. You can keep the clock but you'll need to swap decks whenever you need to change the time. The DVD is already setup so you don't have to worry about the handbrake...it'll work if you 'accidentally' switch to DVD while in motion. The default GPS app works good but I'm using iGo instead and the phone works great. Just check that the wires are good and tight in the harness.

  • Thanks for the information. I dont have the trip computer on my display, only the clock and the radio stations , RDS, and the outside temperature. So hope to retain that. Kinda surprized that the new head units wont connect directly with that aux jack input I have in my car. Seems like that is in an easy fix! Maybe EONON needs to keep upgrading their units to the newer style cars that give you more options. I have it in my car, but probably wouldnt be using it that much anyhow.

  • Just ordered this head unit for my 2009 Mazda 3. Does any of the display LCD function work? Or do you need to keep the power on to your unit and have the radio on, unplug it, and then plug in the new unit without powering off the ignition? Also I have the aux ipod./ phone jack in the center console, will that still work since it is standard to the vehicle and the oem stereo? Dont want to run a separate line out if posible

  • @gqcwby The temp will still display and trip computer/clock be retained if you swap the deck with the power on as you described. Like all aftermarket decks, you won't be able to cycle between clock/trip readings without the original deck installed. I just keep the miles remaining shown in my 3.

Unfortunately, the factory AUX/iPod jacks won't work with this deck and the iPod won't charge. You'll have to run them separately but you can use Bluetooth audio instead if you have a supporting device.

  • @bufya I'm not sure about Hawaii maps with the default GPS software but you can run iGo 8 which has maps for everything.

  • does the gps maps show hawaii or is it just the continental us?

  • Will this work for the mazdaspeed 3 2008 ? i know its said mazda 3 but does that also go for the ms3 ?

  • @coldfuzionzxx As far as I know, the Mazdaspeed has the same interior as the other 3 models so I don't see why it wouldn't. There are two plugs going into the deck and one going into the LCD...the large plug from the deck is used with the Eonon and the LCD plug is just for the LCD. The smaller plug from the deck isn't used with the Eonon.

  • @coldfuzionzxx According to the company - eonon - this unit work for mazda 3 2006 - 2009, not for 2010. I'm reading all about this unit because it look great. I drive my Mazda 3 - 2007 and I really wanna buy this unit

  • awesome video

  • I have said it to him, but they think that the model is without wrong, that you eat have listened to complaint of none. Brands recognized as Pioneer, Jvc, have problems, I expect to change the arness and to solve the problem with the controls of the steering wheel

  • The previous model E1602 did not need configuration, was easy and simple. This model realizes the same steps, the harnnes of the red box connects that are the cables to the original box of the vehicle. I entered to System Setup and to Steering Wheel Control, select the model MAZDA3 and OK, power off the equipment and the controls of the steering wheel do not work for anything, the vehicle is 2008 year

Think that the wrong is in the set of cables or harness

  • @zonagsm It could be that the steering wheel control wires are backwards or not fully plugging in. Do you have any bent pins or loose wires on the D5102's harness? If not, it could be defective. Let Eonon know and they'll take care of you. I had the E1062 as well and never had an issue with that either. Eonon won't let you down if you let them know what is going on.

  • The DVD this BAD, I also supposed that not need to have configuration, but it is a mistake of factory, the equipment this one damaged, pay too much money and I me do not work the controls of the steering wheel, it becomes mad, raises the volume or the volume lowers without control, this one evil, Eonon is a bad quality

  • @zonagsm Have you contacted Eonon? You get a 2 year warranty and they'll replace yours if it is defective without question. Double check your wiring harness. Some have had volume issues that were related to the steering wheel control wires and easily fixed. Also, try the reset button if you haven't already. I've had mine for a few weeks now without issue and you can check mazda3forums for others that are enjoying theirs.

  • need configuration for the controls of the steering wheel, I wait for urgent response, they me do not work , HELP ME

  • @zonagsm Steering wheel controls should work without setup but you can try going into the settings menu and making sure the correct vehicle is selected under 'Steering Wheel Controls' or something similar. Otherwise check your two center wires, black and brown I think. Make sure they're not loose and the pins aren't bent at all.

  • on the website it says the maps are from 2008, do you know if there is a way to update the maps, perhaps use a different map software... i.e. garmin maps... maybe by replacing the gps sd card?

are you still happy with it after using it for a month? i think i'm about to buy this unit, just want to know if it has held up well.

  • @mastahmo I was one of the first to order one of these units and there was a delay on shipping because they were waiting for the GPS map SD cards. Mine shows that they are 2009 maps so they may have been able to upgrade them but haven't updated the site. The unit is built on Windows CE so you should be able to use another map type but I haven't tried. I was skeptical about the PolNav maps included but they're one of the best I've used. I'm still happy with the unit and haven't had any issues.

  • @skimsol93 Yep, sure did. Easy install. Just pull your dash strip, unscrew two screws for the deck and two screws for the vent cover then remove both. Install is the opposite but be careful not to bend any pins in the new harness.

  • @skimsol93 I'm very pleased with this model. Its just about everything I hoped the E1062 would be. The only issue I'd like to fix is that it doesn't charge iPods or resume where you left off in iPod mode after restarting the car, but there is an update option in the menu so maybe Eonon can release a fix down the line. Even with that small issue, for the price it can't be beat.
