  • Btw, Fr ur kind info.. 'THULE' changed its name to 'TAAKE' in 1995,. :)

  • @Jezebeth1000 Jupp. Thule is a good name, but its also the name of a brand of swedish skiboxes you put on cars.

  • They sound so much better live!!! oh wait, it souunds the same O.o. jk jk i've never been to BM concert.

  • this song has great atmosphere, especially after the intro bit... If there are any people from Scandinavia around, could you tell me how big Taake are within the black metal scene? In Aus. we listen to what we can find buried in the sand basically :|

  • Second tier, basically. Not as big as, say, Darkthrone but they've been fairly well-known since Over Bjoergvin Graater Himmerik.

Btw, I have the EP this track originated on as a Taake song, and it's way more clear on there, this sounds like a really low-quality rip. I don't have the Hellnorsk Svartmetall compilation though, so can anyone tell me if this version of Trolldom is from Koldbrann I Jesu Marg or if it's actually off of one of Thule's demos? That'd make sense.

  • This song is from Koldbrann I Jesu Marg. But i got it from the Hellnorsk Svartmetall compilation. Youtube just raped the quality.

  • I verified things for a bit using my own EP and a downloaded Omfavnet Av Svarte Vinger (the Thule demo), and this has to have been taken from the latter. The first difference I noticed is that the Koldbrann recording starts off with a drumroll, and while the Omfavnet version does have a lot of rehearsal-like instrumental noise going on before the music starts, which isn't present here, it's very much possible this was just cut-out for the compilation.

There's no doubt: this one's from Thule.

  • Oh, and I might add that Hellnorsk Svartmetall seemingly has both versions included, so it's not implausible you simply made a small mistake when you uploaded it, labeling it as the wrong one.

And Youtube did rape the quality, yes, because hearing this demo now, it doesn't sound nearly as muffled, it's actually quite 'hollow' sound-wise.

  • I think you are right, but its still released under the name taake on Hellnorsk svartmetall where i got it from because i dont own the other thule demo.

  • It's allright, I'm not saying you should change the vid name to Thule or anything. It's just that I read the description after my initial question, and it says "Album: Hellnorsk Svartmetall (Koldbrann I Jesu Marg)", which turns out to be incorrect. It's from Hellnorsk Svartmetall, but this isn't Koldbrann-Trolldom, it's the second one on the tracklist.

That, and I was just kind of answering my own question after I found things it out myself. Sorry if I've been annoying you. :P

  • Well i already fixed it now in the discription. Thanks for your help!

  • This one is not from thule. Trolldom on Koldbrann is exactly the same as trolldom on hellnorsk svartmetall, just for the quality being a bit upgraded not much though. But i dont have the Omfavnet version. As far as i know this song appears on Hellsnork svartmetall (From taake) and Koldbrann I Jesus Marg (From taake) The only demo i got from thule is the Der Vinterstormene Raste. Anyway this version of Trolldom is relased under the name taake not thule.

  • now the last years Taake has grown pretty big...spessialy for me :P but for the media and interviews too :P

  • I saw them live in june for the first time. The energy of that concert was just amazing! They've grown indeed!

  • How was the concert?:P

  • It was absolutely great! I've got some videos from it in my favorites (i just added them after you wrote your comment) The energy was amazing fromt he band and from the crowd. I was there with my only friend from this area that i know that listens allot of black metal and with a friend ive only met over the internet that also is a big black metal listener. We had such a great time too bad i cant find footage of hoest holding the Norwegian flag during a song! See them live man i recommend it!!

  • Sweet! I am also a very big black metal listener,It's the greatest genre.Alrighty cool I can't wait to see your live videos(:

  • Check them out, they've in my favorites i didnt had my camera on me (luckily i didnt, way to much stuff got stolen there it was crazy) but they're there!

  • Those were relly good!

Glad you didn't bring it hehe.I saw some of your other videos you uploaded,a lot of them are of my favourite bands! I also subscribed(:

  • Where did you see them?I did on the 26th of June on GMM.

  • And i was there too, front row i was so glad to be there because in this area the black metal activity is -0,0% It was my 2nd Black Metal concert and by far the best for me. Im planning to go to Eindhoven Metal Meeting to, and see Satyricon and Shining and allot more great bands.

About GMM, the only thing that sucked was the background that big screen which said GMM with all the colours it kinda ruined the stage act even though that was amazing. Had a great time there and i hope to go again!

  • My second bm concert too, I went to see moonspell, cradle of filth and gorgoroth last year, real brutal xD

So assuming you re dutch by all the vids from Fluisteraars and you coming to GMM.

I loved the show, but there weren' t much people watching, same with samael, wittr and keep of kalessin=/

  • @VuckingIdiotPerson I find it odd that CoF would be bundled together in any of that (there's way more deserving bands to be next to Gorgoroth). No offense to fans of it, but I can't stand their vocals. I'd rather listen to a cat being raped by a hand grenade (which might actually sound kind of badass!).

  • I fucking love early Taake.
