  • What is unbelievable is the marketing angles. I remember when Rick's first opened in Houston (just down the road from me), about 1981, with 3 stages and valet parking (fresh gimmicks). It was a nice club. But, there were classier clubs (Babe's) and clubs with more, and more beautiful, women (Sugar's Deja Vu). Soon there was a VHS for sale of Ricks dancers. Then, branches in other cities opened. Then, publically traded stock! Stern opening Vegas is another clever marketing angle.
