@TOMsReason haha, thanks! I actually had bondaegi again last night - I ordered 'lucky dip' style from a korean menu that I couldn't read and the starters turned out to be a spicy bondaegi soup. Wasn't too bad actually. I ate maybe 10-20 of them (but didn't finish it).
Probably like a lot of foods, Bondaegi is an acquired taste. I bet if you give it a few more tries then you'll be clamoring for the stuff.
When I visited Scotland last year, I was determined to try Haggis which everyone told me was totally disgusting. No acquired taste for me, I tried it and I loved it straightaway! I can't wait for a return trip for some more.
I am with you however when it comes to eating dog, that's where I draw the line. Even the thought of eating Fido really puts me off.
The dogs they eat are not like cocker spaniels or German Sheppards... They are specifically bred for eating. How is it any different than eating a pig?
@safari55 Haggis is fantastic stuff. As you said, it is not an acquired taste - any more than beef steak is an acquired taste. Haggis is the best thing to have come out of Scotland - even better than whiskey and Adam Smith.
The weirdest Korean food you can eat is live octopus. The tentacles move around in your mouth! What city are you in? You have to visit SamsungLand (Samsung owns an entire city.)
@qtutoringhelps I know, I just don't like the idea of it. I've no moral objection, per se, I just wouldn't like to eat a dog. That said, I used to think the same way about horse, until I ate it and discovered that raw horse meat with pureed ginger is absolutely fantastic.
If you have never tried durian, I recommend it, not because it's delicious, but because I'd like to see the look on your face. I tried a piece of durian at an asian market three years ago and unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me, because my face was priceless. I know understand why durians are not allowed on trains in Singapore.
not many korean people eat dog meat~ its mostly old people

@tochjo772 Some of the kids in my class tell me that they really like it. That said, some of the other kids say they don't want to eat it at all.

You are hilarious ! I had a good laugh watching this video. If I had a choice between dog meat and bondaegi, I would rather have the dog meat !

Lol at your expression before before you ate it. I was hoping you would have found it delicious, so it could be worth it lol.

@qtutoringhelps I'll be trying live octopus soon. I'll make a video of it.

Did you eat the octopus already?

@qtutoringhelps No. I'll make a video of it when I do.

Bosintang (Korean dog soup) is actually quite good. Man, if you eat cows, pigs and chickens, there's no difference if you eat some dog!
