In a late developing story The McGraw-Hill Broadcasting Group is being bought by the E.W. Scripps Company (subject to FCC approval). Can someone make an resynch with Scripps news music?
@samjarris Aren't Scripps' graphics standardized too? If that's the case, then there really wouldn't be any point. Plus, anything would be better than KMGH's dated Hothaus graphics.
@char615 Yes, the graphics are standardized @ Scripps stations. But I don't like Scripps graphics (or the Musikvergnuegen package) Orange!? Really??? Although when I surfed Scripps station's websites, I realized that, most likely, KMGH will be keeping 'The Denver Channel' slogan. And I hope there are only minor changes to the personalities. Who do you think will leave?
@samjarris I'm hoping not much will change. Scripps emphasized that there were already a lot of similarities between the Scripps and McGraw stations, especially with regards to the focus on investigative reporting. If anything, we might see a little cost cutting, and perhaps some older anchors like Mike Landess or Bertha Lynn will leave in the next few years. As for the music and graphics, again, anything would be an improvement from what KMGH currently has.
@newscaster13 ABC/Disney is not going to buy any tv stations. They just sold two stations last yr. If truth be told ABC would get rid of KABC,WABC and the others to the highest bidder. Disney wants out of the news business
Wasn't their 4pm news called "7News Now"? Jeez. I hope this new 3pm news crap doesn't work out to be a new trend, too (KCAL, WTMJ). 4:30am news is enough for me.
@hkfreak They swapped the 4pm news for Dr. Oz to try to pick up the post-Oprah audience. The news has also been shortened to 30 minutes at 3pm. As for who will buy them, I have no idea. I'd love to see ABC by them and make them O&Os, but I also wish it would stop raining for once here...
@samjarris I'm not sure if Martino TV, Everyday, and Colorado & Company in the 9-11am hours necessarily count as "news". But I guess you could say that we do have 7 hours of local programming, at least.
@char615 7News at 3, CBS4 News and 9News at 4, CBS4 News, 9News and 7News at 5, NBC Nightly, CBS Evening and ABC world at 5:30, CBS4 News and 9News at 6, and KWGN news at 7. Oops, ok, 6 hours.
@char615 Local stations goal: have at least 10 hours of continuous local news broadcasting.... On another note, do you know how KTVD fills in station programming? They only have 6 shows in syndicate. According to the My Network TV website, primetime lasts only 2 hrs!

I see ABC itself buying out all the McGraw-Hill stations, including KMGH, seeing that this group is a family of ABC affiliates.

@hkfreak Also, with McGraw-Hill going out of TV, who do you think will take 7, if not all of the stations in the group?

@char615 We need the rain, with this drought. I wonder what kind of overhaul new owners will make. The news team hasn't changed in many years!

@samjarris Don't forget KDVR at 5:30. And there's no local news at 3:30.
