Wow. I've always admired digital artists who can start with a blank canvas and come up with something amazing like this.
Just wondering, why did u sketch all those different pictures at abt 1:45? Was it to get a feel for drawing that kinda objects, ie the robot drawing helped u conceptualise the suit etc? Just curious. Great job!
It's a feature they added to free transform a couple versions ago. There's a toggle button for 'warp mode' on the right side of the free transform toolbar.
It's a contest for 2D and 3D artists, this is an entry for a mini DW challenge, which was to create a war general portrait in 9 days. The big challenge is to design an original character from concept to finished product in two months.
Hey i have Acrid Avid Jam Shred and it's not the song i can hear there, what is it now ?? plz, i really love this song and i have to go on this video to hear it xD
way cool i voted for you mines under the cgsociety under the name ChaosShannon Vote for me if you like it I really like your and now I seen how you did very cool good luck.
I use aviscreen classic 1.3. It's a free program. Sometimes I do a marathon where I do a whole painting in one sitting. This was not one of those paintings. This painting had it's fair share of marathons, but I didn't do it in one take. This video was assembled from 14 captures.
Nice video, Rory, thanks for sharing your process! I voted for your piece, and I'll be on your team doing 2D for the main event, even thought I didn't take part on the 2D side of the miniChallenge (I did 3D.) Cheers!
I use all sorts of brushes. I typically try to stick with general purpose brushes. I use a semi-fuzzy round brush with pressure->opacity. I also use a 'pallate knife' ie a thin oval with angle set to brush tilt. Then I've a few different grain brushes.
Thanks a lot. I sort wish I'd made the contrast a bit higher. Oh well. It was a marathon to get it finished (didn't start until 3 days late). I hope it's good enough.
did you have to replace the music? whats the track name please?

It's such a cool competition being forum vs. forum because it's the people who help each other who win.
On March 12th, we're going to rock it.

You got guts. I look at some of the things that come out of the Dominance Wars and it makes me want to weep.
Not unlike some of the art I've seen you produce. Wonderful attention to detail, although something about the soldier in the background bugs me.
DeadlyYellow 2 years ago
Yeah, it's some heavy competition, but that helps to motivate me.
At this point, it's getting very hard for me to improve, but I'm still getting better, little by little.
Thanks for the crit.
