Mario Kart 7 is more casual and has high replay value. You'll be able to play it over and over and over, doing the same things. The problem is it has no real story (why should it?) and it can get boring after a few months.

Super Mario 3d Land is more story driven, and I think it'd be more fun because you can always play it again, and if you get bored, you can always get another game. :)

I'm getting both, probably.

nope, i just played every level once, at all lost 89 lives after both the normal and special worlds, and well, at least 60 of those i jumped of a cliff so i could get a missed star button without replaying the whole level, but now after reading that you only get the perfect 5 shining stars rating when you never have the super block appear (die 5 times in one level) i have to make another stat and make it perfect this time.

i try to not loose 1 live, by now i'm at 2.4 with 0 lifes lost, how many mario games did you play before?

i played them all from early childhood onwards, especially mario land 1 for GB i must have finished 1000 times, on vacations and in busses and the like.

but my last 3d mario was galaxy 2 when it came out, so i had to get as bit back into it too.

and actually im pissed i have to replay for perfect, because skyward sword has to wait now even longer. xD

really, seeing how perfect mario moved in a 3 dimensional wordl was so mindblowing back then, it was just unbelivable, that game really opened up the world of 3d for video games, it was so effortlessly to move mario, you got right into it despite never before having ben able to play a game like that.

typical nintendo, easy to learn, hard to master.

Why must the levels be so linear, why is there no hub world (only a generic level select screen), why are there little to no innovative power-ups (unlike every other 3D Mario game) and why is the Tanooki Suit in the game but not the Raccoon Leaf (I know the Raccoon Leaf now is the power-up that turns you into Tanooki Mario, but it's just weird that they didn't include both)?!

Half the levels are free roamers. You know what I REALLY hate? When people like you get really uptight because not ALL the levels were designed to your liking. There's some straight forward side scrolling levels okay? And you don't like it, deal with it.

And to top it off you want them to stick the redundant Raccoon suit in the game....which was literally the same thing as the Tanooki suit. Why waste the game space to add two powerups that are EXTREMELY similar?
