Any TRUE religion involves practices to uncover the our peaceful, unchanging, infinite nature. It is not averse to science, it develops strength & character, ability to discriminate betw what is real/unreal, true/false... and unfolds understanding that we are ONE with our brothers & sisters of all faiths. The term has been hijacked by men & women who use it to gain power & those ignorant of it's purpose.

I don't dislike religious people, but they need to understand why religion was created.
Kings only allowed religion to grow to keep people under control.
Christianity is only big because of Constantine and the Romans. They allowed it at the time to keep their huge masses loyal.
The same applies for feudalism.

Any TRUE religion involves practices to uncover the our peaceful, unchanging, infinite nature. It is not averse to science, it develops strength & character, ability to discriminate betw what is real/unreal, true/false... and unfolds understanding that we are ONE with our brothers & sisters of all faiths. The term has been hijacked by men & women who use it to gain power & those ignorant of it's purpose.

I think of that which some call "God" as like an infinite ocean. Everything we perceive as real comes from this infinite ocean and we give is a name. Wave big, Wave small, Wave friend, Wave enemy. Learn to be still and to deep into that ocean. It is full of bliss when the dualities of name & form are transcended. There is a reason yoga practices like meditation have survived so many thousands of years.

You did not answer my question whatsoever. If there is a God, he must be wondering how he was created. There's clearly a lot more to existence than humans can see now, but it's ridiculous to believe a made up answer with no evidence. It's even more ridiculous to believe an answer made up by ancient tribesmen. People have a hard time accepting the unknown, which is why religion was invented.

science cannot measure love. science cannot measure art. there is no scientific measurement for good and evil. i can't prove to you by science that hitler is evil and ghandi is good. there are things in this life that cannot be measured by science, but still can exist. i am not saying whether god does or does not exist, but to say god doesn't exist because there is no scientific proof of his existence is moot.

Why on earth would you think that science is the automatic measuring stick against love, art, etc. versus religion? I don't need to use science to prove that Hitler was an anti-social psychopath; or by using some religious measuring stick either. He was clearly a very messed up person. He may have been a vegetarian too; SO WHAT. The notion that the likelihood of God's existence is an even split because you believe it can't be proven by science is *absolutely* irrelevant. Actually in all honesty any person who believes in something has a religion, faith cant have a name put to it. Im not religious (i.e. spiritual) and I find it difficult to accept anything without scientific fact.
However creating a following based on the debunking of religion, isnt a religion, its just a belief followed by many.

I don't think he created a religion so much as he just showed his dis-taste for those who go door to door to "recruit." That seemed to be the main focus. I'm not anti-religion, but I get pretty annoyed and offended by all the random people coming by my door telling me that I'm wrong.
