@Ranknoid: This movie is most certainly not about nothing. There is definitely a story here. But Korine takes a very different approach then what most of the population is used to. For me at least, it's about what YOU take from it. These images elicit feelings specific to each of us - it's up to you to interpret this. If you chose not to, that's on you :D

And totally agree with ZJimmy, you either need to love art (film/art/music) or be an artist/filmmaker yourself to really enjoy this.

@TheShellThatIsYou what really gets me is most people I show this movie to all they really remember is the cats. i dont get that at all i hate animal cruelty and I love cats but thats like one detail out of like a million other things. among the things a person needs to really appreiate Gummo, i guess a strong stomach is one of em.

@zjimmy its one of the best films on any budget. Gummo is epic on so many levels . the supposed"greatest films of all time" are total shite compared to this, and that includes The Godfather and Gone With the Wind

Filled to the max with apathetic characters, this is one of the most disturbing and disgusting films that I have ever seen!!!

With that said, it was still an interesting movie. However, Madonna is one of the most overated musical entertainers in the history of musical entertainment!!! WTF anyone would put her song on any video, including this one, is the damn dumbest thing that I can even think of!!

She sucks!!!!!

I rented this one a while back, I wasn't too impressed. KIDS wasn't too impressing either for that matter. In both movies I wanted to kill the characters with my bare hands.

I have seen this movie twice at two different points in my life and I can honestly say I hated it both times. It seemed to try to hard to be avant garde and artsy. It was also slow and seemed like some person shot it w/o a plan or experience, there were a few good scenes but I'm glad I gave it a chance.

I have the official dvd, Its nice : ) actually bought it at best buy they had oneeee copy, It didnt take me 5 seconds to decide to buy it right away and it was like 22 bucks, but it being so rare, I didnt even think twice! : ))
