So, if simply being able to form the shape means "doing it first," might we also attribute the winged helmet, Michigan's greatest tradition (?), to Princeton and Michigan State...yes, the Spartans used the winged design over 10 years before scUM did. Notice how there's a lot more to Script Ohio than forming a word on the field.

MMB performed the first "Script Ohio" it was a block formation, no script writing was used. This formation was used to honor the visiting team which was OSU. The formed a block ohio which was in the shape of the script. OSU was the first band to march script ohio, OSUMB was also the first band to utilize moving fomrations and script writing.
