Groves hits harder in my opinion that Degale and I think Degale is untested yet (which is testament to his talent) so it should be a good fight if Groves tee's off and we'll find out what Degale is really made of! K Anderson fights like a robot, stiff as a board, not relaxed, his high guard blinds him from punches coming from low and he has no rotation at the waist on his punches but he's accurate and economical, better fighter than Paul Smith imo. Groves vs DeGale could be closer than ppl think.
I do also want to add that I think this fight was a good learning experience for Groves nonetheless. It's always good for a fighter to go to hell and back in a fight. But my hope for him is that he refines what he has and I am not sure if Booth can completely help him do that.
Though I do think Degale will win May 21st, I think it will go a bit farther than the 4 rounds predicted by Jim McDonnell. Groves has loads of potential but he needs to refine it.I've been impressed with Degale in the way he has come along in just 10 fights, he still has the amateur style in him but that is still to be expected from a man with only 10 professional fights. What ifs and buts mean fuck all, get over it.

anderson broke a rib in a previous fight and i think he was hurt there again as he dropped his hands which gave groves the opportunity to catch him with an uppercut then a sequence of head shots to finish it. im sure groves team would have known about the injury as anderson gave it away in a previous interview.

I like Groves. Think hes come on a bundle as a pro... But. I just feel that De Gales handsspeed may give him a world of probs as & when they ever get it on... bit too open in defence too... Maybe tring to fight a bit too much like mentor David Haye...?

When Groves began boxing he was a class above, when he stood there and tried to trade, Anderson was too much to deal with.
Just wish Groves would tighten his defence because then we'd have ourselves a definite future World Champ.
And actually, this guy Anderson is tough as boots so you could almost say this was an early World title eliminator. Groves was brave to take the fight, and it paid off in the end....he'll be more experienced because of it.

@paulcollumbine bollocks, if you're a serious fighter you don't need over 10 weeks of training, you should already be fit. most training camps are to prepare for the type of fighter you're facing (ie. sparring)...Anderson knew what Groves was about and seemed pretty confident beforehand (I'm gonna embarrass him, etc)...if he didn't think he could win the fight he wouldn't have taken it...and shouldn't have, for that matter...but he did...and he lost. What ifs and buts mean fuck all, get over it.

Can you imagine how badly Anderson would have beaten Groves if he had a full training programme? He'd be stronger, faster, have more head movement and above all be much, much fitter.
Anderson exposed Groves on pure talent alone.

Showed good heart but why the fuck has Adam Booth not worked on Groves' defence? His left hand is far too low. I know some fighters like to fight that way but it doesnt suit George. Look at the first 30 seconds of the round after he was knocked down, his hands were UP!

anderson broke a rib in a previous fight and i think he was hurt there again as he dropped his hands which gave groves the opportunity to catch him with an uppercut then a sequence of head shots to finish it. im sure groves team would have known about the injury as anderson gave it away in a previous interview.

I'd have to pick De Gale over Groves at the moment. Groves has a dreadful defence - all reflexes and nothing else - and I hate that hands down bullshit. He punches way too wide too - needs to sharpen and straighten his punches before he fights anyone who's really world class. Still, he's only a kid.
