They were about the same speed. Do you remember that you started the test on Firefox before? And Safari 4 Beta is a lot faster than Firefox 3.1 in JavaScript rendering.

alright i didn't understand a thing you just said in the first sentence (something bout user did not apple?) your gonna have to clear that up first. second i'm not some os fanboy... i was just pissed that an "update" made my mother board overheat some how... was i to expect it? and how?

before sp1 for vista was out at least all it was doing was crashing... and after sp1 it now runs fine... but how would you know if it did or didn't?

I use Safari on Windows and it's pretty good, and doesn't take much CPU and RAM usage (I use Pentium 4 with 2GB RAM DDR and it's faster than Firefox and Internet Explorer). Well i have to admit, Apple's products are great but sadly they're too expensive especially in my country Indonesia. And by Golly i want to buy a Mac, since I already have consoles for videogames.

Odd, I did similar testing and I found that Safari 3 was about 1.7x faster than Firefox 3. It may just be my plugins but Safari seems more responsive too
