  • Thanks for the Tour Julz! Yup! the high desert is growing. Strained to see if I could pick out my Mama's house. LOL

  • Hey Julz, Just sitting here with my popcorn (and root beer of course) pick'in and choos'in my favorites and was wondering what kinda progress they've made in the hood since the last vid. How about you and Biker Billy take another tour??? That Tuco is a beauty..

  • Thanks Jen. Tuco is my 'baby horse' He came to me not quite 3 months old so I'm his 'Mom'. Good, Bad or Ugly... he's ALL me and I love Tuco. No intention of EVER parting with that horse. Like Smokie. Hehehe!

Good news is the road is still blocked to most cross traffic down there so it's a little safer on green horses or with inexperienced riders. Cars just RIP down that road normally.

Should take ya'll on a tour a little further out in the desert. It's real pretty out there. :~)

  • Great job. Enjoyed the ride. I have gone from horses (not completely) to horsepower myself. A 2001 Harley Superglide. Battery was dead today. Off to get another one...

  • Buy a little 'battery tender' and you won't have that problem. Unless of course you ride your bike every day to keep the battery up. These newer m/c's are real picky about their batteries and no kick starts any more. LOL!

Battery tender is a good investment.

Yes my expertise is motorcycles. Trust me on this bit of advice. :~)

Kinda gone the opposite. Since getting back in to horses don't spend enough time riding the machine. There's cobwebs in my tail pipes. YIKES! Don't tell anyone. LOL!

  • That is so cool Julie, looks like Billys having fun. And your horses look very well broke , my hood has more people also. keep on riding yea!!!!!!!!!

  • Stetson's doing real GOOD now days Joe. And Tuco, well he's ALL me. So THANKS for saying they look 'well broke'. That makes me SMILE!

Just realized the gray color on my titles matches my husbands hair. LOL! Something subconcious going on there maybe? He's 65 so we can cut that gray hair some slack, huh. :~)

If we can get HIM up on a horse and back in one piece anything is possible.

Gotta keep at it, keeps us young. LOL!

Thanks for watching & for the good words JOE. It means a lot from you.

  • Hey Julie, thanks for a tour of "the hood!" Sure looks D-R-Y down there! Sure is a lot of paving going on, too. You know what they say: "they paved paradise, and put up a parking lot..." : )

  • Isn't that the TRUTH Aeron?

I think that high raised road bed will soon be a housing tract on either side. All kinds of surveyors stakes out there. If I were feeling bratty I could go and pull them all up. Hehehe! Wouldn't stop them tho. They're gonna keep building on my desert.

Soon we'll have to trailer OUT if we want to ride. (SIGH)

Oh well, by then maybe real estate will recover and we can MOVE. LOL!

Thanks for watching and for the nice comments.

    YAY! :~)

  • well that sure was cool to watch

    xoxoxo d

  • Your Papa did pretty good on Stetson, don't ya think? Stetson's a good boy... Billy's so brave. LOL!

Promise, I'll get Squirty where the THREE of us can go for a ride one day soon. Now won't THAT be FUN! :~)

If we can get Billy down the road on the Brute safely, we can do anything.

Something to look forward to. YAY!

Hugs and kisses to you too 'd'. Muaaaah!

  • Looks like a real desert. Real horse country.

    Nice place there.

  • Yup, Bill. You've seen it in person, right off Old Route 66. Wish we had some of that Mojave River bottom land. Still a desert but at least there's some cottonwood TREES down by the river. :~)

It is good for horses around here if they don't crowd us out too quick. Not a lot of fences once you hit the deserts any way.

Roy Rogers lived not far from here.

Thanks for watching Bill. We're still waiting for a Bean update. YAY!

  • Nice job Julz! I didn't even get motion sick! What GOOD poneez you have there--maybe you could do a training vid on tying.

How sad about the disappearing desert--guess it's that way everywhere . . .

  • Yup, Karen it does seem to be universal, the open spaces going away at an alarming rate. There's still wide open territory but I'd have to trailer there now, not far, but too much traffic to dare the ride out now.

Wish we had your farm in the country. :~)

Training vid? That's not really what I do. More like what Roland or Joe does. My vids aren't really meant for advice, just sharing some of the JOY and experience with horses is all. A little slice of life from the High Desert....

  • ahhh that was great, thanks for sharing Julz, looks like a great place to live....I will get off my duff one of these days and get you all a tour of "Ms. Wendy's neighborhood".

  • Well DO IT Wen... Get off the duff and get 'er done! We'd love to see Ms Wendy's hood.

Maybe a video of the new horsey?

Thanks for watching this one and for the nice comments. We appreciate that. :~)

  • where he heck is the green grass????? j/k Tuco is still my FAV!!! just to let ya know julz...

  • Green grass? Not in this desert. The only green we get is where it's irrigated. LOL!

If you lived here awhile you'd really appreciate what you got back East. Cheap hay, trees, & creeks. This is a REAL desert all right. :~)

Tuco's my fave too "G". Gotta love him. He's my best friend and just about anything I wanna try he's willing to go there with me. Can't believe he's all growed up now. 6 years old... that went QUICK. Just like kids, they grow up so fast. 'Baby Horse!' ((HUGS)) to you "G"

  • hey Julz, I bet Billy isn't use to 1 horse power being a harley man..lol Looks like you guys are having fun..cool stuff

  • As we know Master Paul-san... ONE horse POWER is all it really takes to give a man (or woman) quite the thrill ride. LOL!

Good idea... I'm gonna make all the WIVES out there with non-horsey husbands JEALOUS. See, I'll take this gray haired guy and make a JOCKEY outta him yet. :~)

Seriously tho, I saw nothing but smiles out there and that was GREAT. Amazing what a few simple riding exercises can do for a persons confidence isn't it? And Stetson gets a big GOLD STAR for being such a GOOD BOY!

  • Hey Julz - thanks for the tour - looks HOT where you are.... Can I come visit? I like hot....lol! Hubby looks pretty comfortable on a horse, he should be going riding with lots more.... And Tuco looks great too, what a lovely horse! Thanks for sharing...

  • Of course Dea! You're all ways welcome. If you do come to visit you'll be right at home son-in-law can come over & speak Danish with you. LOL! Better yet, we'll go to their house for a Bar-b-que dinner.

Hubby is doing all right on Stetson. Had one moment out there when a big truck went by & that kind of spooked Tuco which spooked Stetson, but they both recovered quickly. Gave hubby a lesson in 'emergency brakes' before we left the yard & think that helped.

Your PAIR has me beat right now.

  • bout the motion sickness not too bad here! Im with you on the disappearing neighorhood every year ours get closer & the hayfeilds I just do not even want to go there :(. nice ride here though.

  • Well that's good, Tina. When I was putting the movie together I thought... Man this is gonna make em woozy. LOL!

Yup, the city is tightening up on us around here, ever so steadily, closing in. Kind of a shame isn't it? Guess the worst part is that the vehicle drivers don't respect the horses so it gets a little hair raising out there on the roads.

The little cowgirl is doing great in your gymkhana videos!

    Good for YOU! HOORAY! :~)
