@DOBORBEN The habanera is the basic rythm cell that was took to create tango and milonga. Tango also has another rythm cells that can be used. Great video. Greeting From Argentina
@marylithium, we are on the process of putting Spanish subtitles on our videos. Well, we already have a course in Spanish subtitle. You can visit pianomother . com for that course, please look under Categories. Thank you.
@amazingvietnam247, we will mention that to Ms. Wong. If you are interested in Rhumba and other piano techniques maybe you can look into our 121 Left Hand Styles course. There's a lesson about how to play Rhumba in that course and many other left hand styles.
Just a quick note: La Paloma is not a "tango", is an "habanera" which comes form Cuba, not from Argentina or Uruguay. Anyways, this afro-cuban style (which developed from contradanza) influenced all latin american music and became "milonga" and eventually "tango" in Argentina with an accent on the first and third notes. They share the same beat so It can be performed as a tango and for instructional purpose works well. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the enlightening info on the Tango. We have been line dancing a tango and I became interested in the extact nature of a tango''s ryhthm. I am so glad you showed it via piano because I play also and will try what you pointed out. Thanks again.
sorry.... you are wrong. This in not tango rythm... IT IS HABANERA RYTHM

Very interesting. Thank you very much.
Sorry, I am a piano beginner, so it sounds like a rhumba, or a slow chachacha to me.
Can you please run a tutorial on rhumba? I like to play the song Besame Mucho.
Thank you so much.

I thought this was the habanera rhythm, which is the milonga rhythm. Isn't tango just a Strong-weak-Strong-weak in 4/4 ??
