As a Duck fan, I hate reflecting on this game because we played so poorly that day. Ohio State was the better team that day. And yes, pre-Rose Bowl, the Ducks were heavy favorites. And one thing that killed us was that we would sack Terrelle Pryor almost every play, and then he would carry our smaller faster defenders up the field and turn a sack into a short gain and/or first down.

In Pac-10 play, Oregon typically had 300 yards passing and 200 yards rushing. I watched a lot of PAC-10 football last year. Masoli wasn't known for reliability in passing and was faced with an extremely sound defense with very good coverage. I don't know why these commentators didn't ask what would happen if Ohio State stuffed Oregon's passing game like they did. Are they going to win with less than 300 yds of total offense? no. It's like overlooking an elephant in the room.

However, here's why I pick us going 4-8 (1-7), not only do we have QBs that throw like they're still high school quarterbacks but we have a gutted defense. The D-Line's going to be pretty weak this year, the linebackers for once are going to be inexperienced and not all that good outside of Michael Mauti now that Bowman is in the NFL. If we lose one player to injury, we could be only beating the teams we should be able to beat in our sleep and get stuck playing in the Toilet Bowl.

As a die-hard Illini fan, I thoroughly enjoyed watching you guys destroy Oregon. I only wish it could have been LSU, Florida or Alabama so the SEC would finally stop their baseless trash talk. This year has got to be it. The recruiting has slipped a hair the last couple of years, and that's going to hurt us over the next 5. The offense is veteran, the line is stacked, the defense will likely not miss a beat. This year it's all or nothing.

With the 2011 class, we already have 10 commits and it looks like its gonna be beastly especially if Braxton Miller commits. I was totaling expecting Oregon to pull it off, and I was rooting for the PAC 10. But I think OSU was the more confident team, it was especially shown with Terrele Prior (Sorry about the spelling) But it was a very good game. And I think both teams are going be graet next year.
OSU was confident but they matched up well against Oregon in almost every area. OSU even has a perfect 8-0 all time record against Oregon. Which is why those people who assumed OSU would lose this game ONLY because of their last 3 bowl losses were clueless.

In Pac-10 play, Oregon typically had 300 yards passing and 200 yards rushing. I watched a lot of PAC-10 football last year. Masoli wasn't known for reliability in passing and was faced with an extremely sound defense with very good coverage. I don't know why these commentators didn't ask what would happen if Ohio State stuffed Oregon's passing game like they did. Are they going to win with less than 300 yds of total offense? no. It's like overlooking an elephant in the room.

That year, they lost to illinois...which was hardly a Big10 botton feeder. They won a share of the B10 because of that win and went to the Rose Bowl. However, here's why I pick us going 4-8 (1-7), not only do we have QBs that throw like they're still high school quarterbacks but we have a gutted defense. The D-Line's going to be pretty weak this year, the linebackers for once are going to be inexperienced and not all that good outside of Michael Mauti now that Bowman is in the NFL. If we lose one player to injury, we could be only beating the teams we should be able to beat in our sleep and get stuck playing in the Toilet Bowl.

If, Ohio State had an offense, I think we can both agree that they would had beat Purdue and USC. Michigan could have easliy won if Tate Forcier didn't have 5 turnovers.

I hope you're right but I just don't see us winning more than five games, and if we lose to Youngstown State in the opener, it could be a 0-12 season for us, including our first loss to Temple since before WWII and our first loss to Indiana ever. But a 52-3 win over Miami would feel great.

I was totaling expecting Oregon to pull it off, and I was rooting for the PAC 10. But I think OSU was the more confident team, it was especially shown with Terrele Prior (Sorry about the spelling) But it was a very good game. And I think both teams are going be graet next year.

OSU was confident but they matched up well against Oregon in almost every area. OSU even has a perfect 8-0 all time record against Oregon. Which is why those people who assumed OSU would lose this game ONLY because of their last 3 bowl losses were clueless.
