I think she love him more then anything that is why she went on to becoming an addict she did all he wanted while he watch her destoy herself this happens not in the same way Candy did most weak character men do this to women whom want to be happy... heroine is the best next thing...

Dan didn't force Candy into the heroine as a way to win his acceptance or love or anything. He really didn't even want her in it that much. He just thought it was beautiful and he wanted to shared that with Candy. Most drugs do seem so incredible at first, but thats before they go bad. That's why at first thing with them were perfect.

he didnt end it. it was a mutual thing even though there were no words spoken. they both knew that if they stayed together, then she would just go to square one, and he would never get better. i like to think that he gets clean, and like 5 years later or something, they reunite, and have a bunch of happy healthy babies :]

exactly, haha. He says, "I can't go back.' or something like that.  Which is basically what Geoffrey Rush said at the beginning, "When you want to stop, you can't." So, Dan was saying, I can't stop heroine, but Candy was getting sober so they couldn't be together. It's really sad because he basically says, "I pick heroine over you" even though he loves her. :[
