Cook had to sing a Beatles song. They aren't so very suited to his voice so he had to get creative with what works for his voice. He figured it out perfectly.

I love most of his studio version...this one, not so much. I think the vocal on this song was a lot better in the live show version. This one kind of lacks the "grittyness" that made the other one cool. This one sounds really canned and "produced"...like a Disney show version, if that makes any sense.

Just google Daughtry Signs with 19/RCA. They all sign a contract pre top 12. 19E/Simon Fuller has then unless he releases them from their contract after the tour. It is better to win because you get promoted more. They just don't give our contracts & labels much anymore and if 19E doesn't pick him up--nobody else will. The music business is different today and it's a tough nut to crack. Everyone is feeling the pinch.

They didn't restrict Blake Lewis' artistry (19E/Arista Label) and they should have, because it bombed. 19E won't let David Cook go because he's ready right now to produce an album and they want to cash in on him. People just don't give our record deals much these days--it's tough out there. #1 gets more promos, marketing. #2 does not.
