@leelee1947 - David Phelps is by far better than Smokie Norful. He has a much better vocal range and the way that David uses his voice requires more skill. That's why I say that. Smokie is better at run-ins, but David has a much louder, stronger and higher vocal range than smokie. David also has the ability to change the style of his voice as well.

Yeah but I'm not comparing the religious aspects or who's more annointed than who. I'm talking singing ability, scrictly.

David has great runs as well, but this isn't a black soulful church and I think that's why he holds back on that. I've heard him do a lot of runs on some of his other material. I think David has a much stronger/powerful voice than most people in general. He has a great vocal range and could hold high notes with bunch of power and then add vibrato at the end

Okay this is a response to what Heather said about Kirk's past. Heather...I am a former drug addict and alcoholic...I had a $300 a week drug problem....until I met Christ.
