I've had the book on my shelf for a good 2 years, virtually unread.

Recently, I had foot surgery and finding myself 'couched' for several days, I decided to read the book.

Well, I couldn't put it down. Water for Elephants is an amazing experience that transports the reader from present day to the circus world of the early 1900's, and then back again. Some of it is brutal, some of it is hearbreaking or out-right hilarious, yet, all of it is mesmerizing. I highly recommend it!
