I love wearing my white suit and black shirt ( and flared pant) and grooving in the middle of a crowd to this while everyone is in a circle around me clapping in time to the beat. I open the buttons on my shirt to reveal my hairy chest and medallion. Nice. I want to stop dancing but the crowd wont let me. Nice.
This track is so beautiful, it has been my favorite song since I heard it back in 99 at a club in Toronto. I was at the Joker of all places. Great memories of good times being young. I've been putting my baby to bed to "Big love" since she was 2 months old.
Some argue best house track ever, but just remember where all the great house tracks come from....70s & 80 Soul and Disco. This track pure genius from "Stargard - Wear it Out" 1979 produced by the great Verdine White of Earth Wind and Fire fame.
@yousellouts Is that really a house track? There are several house tracks which sound different. There are a lot of bad house tracks from 2007 til now. But this one is great!
don't know if it is the best, but definitely still my favourite house track. I hope I get a new one soon, but this year is not the year, maybe next year....
This strangely reminds me of those rainy summer evenings, especially Fridays when I used to chill out with a beer and listen to this. If you live here in Ireland, what do you expect the weather to be like anyways? It's not exactly Ibiza, is it? lol. :L
I really miss these days.. when house music was this. If u know what I mean, u'll remember these awesome tracks: Pure Orchestra - U&I, Modjo - Lady, Earth Wind & Fire - September'99, Room 5 - Make Luv, Bent - Magic Love, Superfunk - Lucky Star, Junior Jack - My Feeling, Only Paradise - You Got The Way, Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You, Bustafunk - Run Baby Run, Spiller - Groovejet, Madison Avenue - Don't Call Me Baby, David Morales - Needin' U II, Armand Van Helden - You Don't Know Me
the problem is that now music is too commercialized. Music is always better when it is underground. Producers who make music for the love of music and not a fat pay check. Music is at its best when you put your heart and soul in it.
Totally agree. You have made an excellent point. Underground music from 70s 80s 90s no matter what era is the best and you can feel the quality compared to mass produced commercial stuff. This is a true classic. One of the best house tracks ever.
Beautiful track!! I can't deny that if I look back, I do think we had fantastic tunes during the 90s, but maybe the reason we think past music is better is a) nostalgia (music heard during your teenage years usually makes a deeper impact) b) we only remember the best tunes! Among masterpieces such as Big Love, there were LOADS oh horrible songs! In the future, only good music from this era will be rememered and we'll say the same. That's my 2 cents.
I have never taken Cocaine in my life (and do not intend to ever do so, though I am neither a prude nor boring) but based on descriptions of cocaine users, the euphoria I get from this song while dancing my ass of, is probably close enough to that chemical experience. Why would I wanna spoil this feeling with something intoxicating and harmful?
Actually the best mix were from 90-01 yes theres some good hits or mixes here and there coming to our date now but that decade was full of it thats why go to a house or trance club and i bet u anything 80% is RETRO
I think you're wrong. I downloaded approx. 250 Deep House tracks within the last few days dated 2005-2010, sounds great! Type Deep House into the bar above and you'll get my point. There's no such thing as peak. Every period has it's own mark, but you can always find good quality stuff, tho it depends what you're looking for.
I've been listening House since mid 90-ies and all I can say it's evolving.
I reckon it's because only real musicians were doing it at the time and now anybody with a half-decent setup in their bedroom can churn out any manner of garbage
@raretunes1 #didn't exist on a chart in the u.s. of a. the well minded listeners of these records don't count when it comes to big corporations running the radio waves.
I can't figure out why music was a million times better in 99-00 compared to these days. Back then, it seemed like there were QUALITY tracks coming out every 3-4 days. Now it's like every 3-4 YEARS. Seriously, the last decent song I can remember was "Black and Gold" about 3 years ago. What's come out ever since? Wtf's goin on these days?? DJ's given up? All suffering from "writer's block"?
@SexualStrat no one has given up, it's just nobody found "the one" that hasn't been touched yet in the "right way". check out the phantoms revenge. quality disco cuts totally murderalized into bangin house tunes. yet, nothing compares to the sound of late 90's early 00' sound. easy.

If this song was released today, it probably would go unrecognized. House music i think is in a bit of a slump at the moment compared to where it was in the 90's and early 00's.
@lasoo88 i wouldnt say it is in a slump, i just think their is too many commercial artists playing "house" such as guetta and swedish house mafia. i dont class them as house, i class them as "chart house". people that listen to this sort of stuff arent hearing the best thats being offered. i like swedish house mafia but all their 'solo' stuff is better than all 3 of them together. this is a great tune by the way haha.
@SexualStrat You seem like someone who knows about music, which other house songs you recommend me, I love this genre but I think I need to know more about it
@raficokings87 Just google top 50/100 dance/trance tracks/songs. All the help you need right there. I also wrote down some of the best dance tracks in a comment of mine a month ago on the youtube video "Rank 1 - Airwave (Official Video)". Look it up. + just keep clicking on the vids you see on the right of your screen -->
@SexualStrat. To be fair, they probably ran out of disco tracks to sample! You're right though, i remember clubbing around that era and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves with uplifting tunes like this.
@SexualStrat You know why? It's in every style the best music is in a pick of style development..97-00 was the pick..In disco music it was 77-80 Chic for exemple.
So fucking true, what we've got these days is half arsed forgettable shit that your grand kids wouldn't take a second look at in a bargain bin, 20 years from now.
@SexualStrat I concur with your observations of current music. However I believe the problem is not 'writer's block' but music piracy on the Internet.
10-12 years from now, comments on YouTube will say the same thing about current music. Believe it, these things never change. Also, teenagers will have 'discovered' sex and subsequently know more about it than their ancient parents.
@Schibta No. NO ONE in 12 years from now will be telling teens how much better music was in 2011, mark my words. Chris Brown, Justin Bitchboy... who ever else is "in" these days will be forgotten. The only music coming out right now is targeted towards clueless shallow teen girls. The current "internet generation" don't care for anything now but facebook and i-phones. Things HAVE changed. Music is OVER. It started with the birth of the electric guitar in the 50's and ended in the early 00's.
@Schibta Compare todays tracks (& "artists") with tracks from Elvis, MJ, The Beatles, The Doors, The Who, The Eagles, Led Zepp, Cream/Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Guns n Roses, U2, INXS, AC/DC, Santana, Hendrix, Lenny Kravitz, ZZ Top, 2Pac, Madonna, Janet... are you kidding me?! Telling me "things never change"? Lol. Like I said.. things DO change and the only "music" todays teens are going to remember in 10-12 years from now, is their parents shouting out, "TURN THAT FUCKING SHIT DOWN!".
@SexualStrat yeah must be. I think alot of it is, they have forgotten to go back to basics, its all about the song. i know you might think that sounds stupid, but alot of artists today are worried about videos and image. if they go back to basics and have some passion about the music they are making, i am sure we will have good house music again some day.
@pokerjoker234 Of course. I've been saying this for years. It's all about image/body image these days. Boys idolize roid/hgh users (eg. John Cena), while girls idolize talentless whores with fake tits, fake faces and fake bums (eg. Kim K.). The younger generation are all shallow these days. There is no reason to be deep. No time for passion, love... There are no wars, no struggles... instead they/we have Youtube comment wars, Facebook and Maccaz/KFC drive-thru.
@pokerjoker234 I think the main reason why house music (ALL music) has died, is because they have simply ran out of different sounds/lyrics/vocals/beats. I mean it's impossible to keep coming up with different tracks. Sooner or later we'd have heard everything imaginable. That's why most of the music (& movies) been released today are remakes/samples of older tracks. I mean, just try to come up with a beat or lyrics yourself that hasn't been heard - you can't. It's all been done. Music's over.
@SexualStrat I think is because every musical style remains great as long as is authentic, when it starts to get manufactured it kinda lost its essence until a new style borns...
@SexualStrat In all honesty mate from early 90's a lot of songs were sampled from older songs mainly from disco and soul. 60's and 70's were most creative period for music but good DJ's used the right samples to bring this type of music to a new generation. Unfortunately that well has run dry now and its come to point where people are just covering covers and its been done before too many times.
@idoknowyouknow this reminds me of an abandoned bank in detroit, mi. i had the 12", dropped it after 3am, kids had their balloons, and started bouncin up n down. it was a sight to remember for sure. year 2000 in the D. freaky.
Wowww....Ministry Of Sound 1999 annual millennium edition...now were talk'n.....reminds me of my first trip to Cuba in 2000 played that cd wherever i went...what a year!!!
I freaking love this tune! It was like 2000 when i accidentally recorded it to a tape, then i had it copied to computer, without any idea who made it. Today, 10 years later time has changed, I was listening to online radio streaming 70-80ss disco music, and as they played 'Stargard - Wear It Out' I immediately recognized the sample, then found THE remix.
'Big Love' touches me so deeply that i have tears on my eyes right now. sob sob, i love it.
Reminds me of 1999, drunken weekends, ecstasy, bottles of water, pretty girls with the lights off, ugly with the lights on, dancing and sweating my ass off, Marlboro reds, Moet, LUSH LOUNGE IN HAMTRAMCK
awww yeah!!!!

@SexualStrat
Very good point. I think you have hit the nail on the head with your comment. It's virtually impossible to be original.

@SexualStrat I think is because every musical style remains great as long as is authentic, when it starts to get manufactured it kinda lost its essence until a new style borns...

@SexualStrat Today we have Gaga and Bieber, and the saddest part of it is that most of people like them, even if quality is not what they have.
