LOVELY SONG IN MY TOWN IN OUTBACK AUSTRALIA BROKEN HILL WE HAVE A MONUMENT RECONISING THE BRAVE BANDSMAN WHO PLAYED THIS NUMBER RIGHT TO THE COLD BITTER END,MAY THE ALL REST IN PEACE.
happy and sad.... its probably the tempo the band played it slow and sad this is fast and happy i like this one so i don't think about the 1500 people who died
I always loved the song in titanic so I looked up the song and before the second line I was singing and crying. This song will by my funeral song I swear to thee! ;)
@DidiandZac It could be that the people who disliked this, disliked it because they didn't like how it made them feel. We shouldn't be so fast to judge... (sorry for any spellng misstakes, English is not my first language)
The first time I heard this song I was supposed to be singing it at a funeral. Quite a catchy tune, very easy to pick up, easier to sing. As an atheist the true meaning is lost on me, but I will always remember it as the final song of my friend. <3
the titanic was named "the unsinkable ship" at the time, during this age people in the western world in particularly thought man was getting better and better and developing to something better than the past, not dependant on God anymore but on himself, the titanic was in a way a supposed proof of how far man had come, when it sank however, NO-ONE depended on themselves anymore and the sinking showed the folly of mans trust in himself, oh how quickly they turned back to God when disaster strook
It is hard to keep hurt 'in' it is good to let it ALL out at certain times. I know it is hard for some not to cry when we think of our loved ones that passed on.
Am a Facebooker from california, have foreign friends who can enjoy our music when we post music with the lyrics, Cairo, Egypt was listening to my post of this song, Thank God!!!
While I appreciate that this song was in the movie Titanic it is a classical hymn from way back. We played it at my dads funeral yesterday. I don't think of the titanic when I hear this but thank you so much for posting it.
@Kanefan701 But it is likely that the melody was different.
The lyrics should be the same, but many passengers heard a melody, that sounds like an older version, like the one that was played in the film "A night to remember 1958" which is a film about titanic.
is good to be near God always
