I think the guy you were dealing with has had a hard time with upselling. A classic case of "Seller's Tweak". I have experienced this with other sellers, but my local gamestop, I can't say that I have. Perhaps their numbers are up. I kind of feel bad for people like this. No luck, or Suck at selling. Its not pre-ordering, but when I got GOW3 I finished it twice in 3 days brought it back the third before closing time and rather than getting most of my money back, I had to trade it in for thirty dollars. They said I bought it in the morning so it was technically non returnable. (I bought it the day it came out.)

Yeah, I bought Cataclysm and pre-orded Portal 2 and Brink. Ringing up to like....close to $200 for the editions I bought. The guy sat there as he was ringing me up and said. Yeah, I bought Cataclysm and pre-orded Portal 2 and Brink. Ringing up to like....close to $200 for the editions I bought. The guy sat there as he was ringing me up and said. "While your still here, do you wanna pre-order Mortal Combat?" I just stared at him. "How about Gears of War 3?" He said. I gave him an epic stare. "Nah, how about Duke Nukem?" I kinda grit my teeth and say. "I dislike you....and Duke Nukem..." I sigh and walk out. "How about you pre-order a better speech processor you CPU."

i pre-ordered a game (mortal kombat tournament stick) which is 150$ and plus i pre-ordered portal 2 as well which comes out to 200$ after i gave the man all the money he asks me "do you want to pre-order gears of war 3? guna be game of the century" and i just sit there being like "wtf man i just got 200$ worth of shit leave me alone"

I had a hard time with someguy,I just walked in to buy dead space 2,right,and I was going to trade in old games.I traded in my games,all of'em good.10$,wow,then he says while im looking for my wallet to pay for the rest,"alot of guys come in here with old games and expect it to be enough,so im not suprised." and gives me a glare.I happily take out my wallet and give him the cash.He still fucking glaring at me until I walk out the store.

yes! I pre-ordered halo reach legendary and he kept on bugging me to pre-order the black ops prestige edition because he said halo sucks. I said no, just let me pre-order Halo. This guy gave me a face and told me to leave the store and never come back. I came back the next day and he was there. I confronted the manager and his ass got swept.

i work at a gamestop and the only reason some people over kill it is cause either its a slow day and they just trying to make quota and they dont want to get bad numbers or they are just very inthusastic and sorry for poor grammer but they want to help you and talk about games as much as i do and i dont over kill i simply say hey welcome to gamestop how you guys doing let them speak and simply say well if you have any questions names mike im here if you need me or ill say dont be afraid to ask

i had this same problem, but not with a video game. the dude at adult world was pressuring me the same way to order Jiggly Jugs III and a bunch of other shit; when all i wanted to do was put my name down for the release of GGW: Bikini Babes - Lake Front Edition. so i ordered them both... you don't have to twist my arm for a good time. :)
