Note: in part 3, I used the metal and nylon washers and I got the 2 red lights. I then used ONLY the -nylon- washers, without the metal ones, and it worked perfectly.

I was fixing my xbox following your guide and i ran into a couple small problems you dont reflect on in any of your videos. 1: Why do i need 16 of each washer when in your videos you only use 8 ea. 2: The metal washers you said to get fit perfectly around the screws, and are fine with one heat sink but, When i tried putting the 2nd heat sink on, the metal washers were overlapping and i think that could potentially cause a major problem, what did you do? or did yours have a smaller outer ring?

Was reading other forums about this and they said that nylon washers will destroy your motherboard over time because they wont be able to withstand the heat. So they said just to use metal ones, but the right size ones (1/4 inch or 1/2 cm)...

Metal washers can damage the motherboard, those people don't know what they are talking about. You tighten really really tight the metal washers and ruin your motherboard. You need to go back and even out your artic silver 5 and make sure you tighten down the screws just to where it isnt easy to turn anymore don't need them tight tight or you will ruin your board and/or cpu and gpu

I followed your steps exactly. I watched this as i was doing mine, but when i put the heat sinks back on, the one covering the gpu gets really hot and overheats in like 45 seconds. The entire heat sink is almost too hot to hold. what did i do wrong?
