  • Very professional for a High School production!!! Amazing!! :) xxxx

  • the orchestra is destructing my momentum... :)

  • Amazing, from start to end! Nice touch at the end, "How in one night have we come... so far" kind of like "and rain will make the flowers... grow" in Les Mis 'A little fall of rain'! :)

  • Elizabeth Judd YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i teared up when tam ran back to hug kim one last time :(

  • Oh good lord the tears won't stop pouring!!!! :'( Simply heartbreaking, wonderful acting.

  • whyd did she kill herself?

  • @majikstar It was the only way she could get her son to America. Earlier in the musical Ellen tells Kim she won't take her son because her son needs his mother. By committing suicide Ellen and Chris now feel they have to take her son to America. She did it to give her son a better life. At least that's how I see it.

  • @MsChibiMa Well thats very sad. But still a good musical... I'm crying. T.T

  • @MsChibiMa True, that's what the Song "I'd Give My Life for You" was about.

  • You all did a brilliant job I actually had tears in my eyes thank you for posting amazing production

  • just listening to it ..thought the singer was the original who played KIM..

  • just listening to it ..thought the singer was the original who played KIM.

  • this reminds me of a little fall of rain when eponine is dying in marius's arms *sniff*

  • I've never seen this musical before I watched it here on YouTube, so don't mock me when I say...:

    NO HAPPY ENDING?!?!?

  • jesus that orchestra....

  • This made me cry

  • Wow if that's high school, they should go touring the state! That was an amazing production! Bravo!!

  • Wow! What a great production!

  • cryinggg.

  • OMG TAM IS ADORABLE!!!!!! that made me cry! :'(

  • kim is now wendla in spring awakening

  • It's lovely :) the only thing that i find annoying is that she kinda shows one facial expression in the entire show. It's still lovely and almost like the professionals.

  • this made me tear up

  • So sad, so tragic, why must it always end sad?????????

  • This is a great version of it.

I am just a little curious though why I can't find this ending for Lea. Did they only do the "Sacred Bird" ending?

  • @sardoniclysane There was a video of Lea Salonga singing this version of MISS SAIGON's finale but it was taken down. Salonga is the only Kim who has sung *all* versions of MISS SAIGON's finales from SACRED BIRD in the Original West End Production, LITTLE GOD OF MY HEART when she made her Broadway debut and this final version when Salonga returned to the Broadway production in 1999, the Manila production in 2000 and when she closed the Broadway production in January 2001.

  • @jsg03jd

Oh man, that sucks. Oh well, this girl is amazing.

  • I really want to see this musical someday

  • I can't believe this is a high school play. WOW!

    that was seriously amazing

  • when he says 'so far' i almost cried

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE this musical!... my high school did this a few yrs back (wen i was in hs lol) nd i simply fell in love with it... but u guys put on an amazing performance!... Kim is amazing!!... nd omg... I'm balling right now! lol

  • orchestra, please dont...

  • @HungarianSarah sound like the orchestra got bronchitis -_-

  • @MarineForceAlpha absolutely... -_-

  • @HungarianSarah -_- .. lol have a lovely hungarian life!

  • @MarineForceAlpha Well, they are only high school kids. Their skills are still developing.

  • @SamuraiGirl02 understood, which is great they are only high school kids there are learning, im excited to see improvement!

  • This is soo good for a High school and I agree with the Orchestra it wasn't perfect on purpose in the broadway version this is great!

  • actually the orchestra makes it sound more like the style of this musical :)

  • im crying

  • This scene ripped my heart out when I saw it on broadway. I was almost sobbing when the house lights came up. Very moving.

  • @atlast23 I must be soppy...... I would truly have been sobbing :-)

  • Aw absolutly fantastic guys!! ive never seen the production but had the soundtrack which i loved and came on here to see the show!! All the singing was top quality- Kim was amazing and Chris is a true talent for a high school boy- hope youve gone on to bigger things!!!

  • EEKK!

    the orchestra!!!!!!!!!!!

    but kim was lovely<3

  • i saw this play and this production was AMAZING!!!!!

Kim=great actor as well as chris, ellen, and engineer

  • wahhhhhhh y kim y :(........

  • my husband was in vietnam he cant even watch/listen to the sound track

  • why is that?

  • this seriously made me cry

  • The dialogue replacement kind of ruins it for me.

  • I kind of like it. For me it's good either way (:

  • God, amazing.

Amazing for high school. Of course, I wish the orch would have been better, but you guys were seriously breathtaking.

  • WOW. this was amazing. My first time watching this musical and I love it. The people that played Kim, Engineer and Ellen are magnificent btw.

I just broke down in tears when Chris decided to leave Kim and Tam in Bankok for his wife as well as the last scene when she shoots herself . :(

  • yup that`s an american ,they have alot of kids around asian and they live it behind. Im not telling all americans , but its real.

  • I have watched every clip on YouTube and I cannot even begin to express how completely impressed I was with all the actors and voices and this production. This is way beyond any HS production. Yes, it is an intense show - but modern musicals are like that now (the days of "Hello Dolly" are long gone)...but everyone of them handled it like true, seasoned professionals. Bravo to all of you...Next year, try Evita.

  • This show is quite an ambisious undertaking for any kind of theater let alone a high school production, but these kids have given a steller production that has riveled any production I have seen (and I saw the original cast on Broadway 7 times)...excellent excellent job....

  • Don't get me wrong, the kids did great.

But to me this show is so complicated musically and with its plot line. I can't picture a high school group taking on a woman who is a prostitute, has a kid, then commits suicide. It's really an intense story.

  • I agree...it would have to be a very VERY progressive and liberal hs to do this production...really...in my opinion...it is not intended for that age range...best to be done in a semi to professional or a community theater that has lots of money to produce it right....Miss Siagon is an incredible show and the music is ridiculously beautiful..your right....very intense.

  • the part where he says "Please forgive me," and then she says "How in one night have we come.." him, "so far" it was very touching great job (':

  • Yeah that was a beautiful touch; reminded me of Les Miserables, the number "A Little Fall of Rain" performed by Eponine (Lea Salonga!) and Marius, how in the end right as she dies (spoiler, sorry) she sings a familiar verse and he ends it (And rain will make the flowers...grow). It's a very touching and intimate way to enhance a number :']

  • Nice for a high school student.

  • omfg.. tears everytime.

when he's holding her and crying.

    omg...

    great job =]

  • i love Miss Saigon.

i seen it last week at our community college.

    it was fantastic :)

  • I will say, our high school did this last year. You probably shouldn't attempt this musical unless your orchestra is up to it, however. I was a violinist in the pit orchestra for my school's production, so I know how hard the music can be especially with all the strange keys and such. The intonation issues stood out and distracted me from what was going on in the musical. Good stage presence, though!

Maybe I'm just a music snob, though. :D

  • Very nice! It's great seeing all these HS productions of this show.

  • what about the sacred bird song?

  • I think in like 1995 (date check?) the production replaced it with the This is the Hour Reprise, cause the Sacred Bird Song made the ending too obvious? I think the "finale" song has changed several times...I really like this version that this production performed :]

  • Yep. The OLC has THE SACRED BIRD. By the time SAIGON opened in New York, it had been replaced by LITTLE GOD OF MY HEART, traces of which are heard in the last version of the FINALE, which was put in place in 1994/1995 and is heard in the Symphonic Recording.

The only recording of LITTLE GOD OF MY HEART is in the Original Japanese Cast recording of SAIGON.

  • what have you done to me...now i'm a mess... please pass the tissue...

  • Absolutely Stunning!!! Ignore all the 'critics' here...they know nothing of Talent and Dedication to The Arts! These...I can't call them kids...performers are all wonderful and should be very proud of what they have accomplished here. I have never seen this play, wasn't really aware of the story, but I loved this version of it, and now want to see more. Although....I doubt that I will be as impressed with anyone else, now that I have seen these incredible performers!

    Thank you for sharing!

  • screw bob.

    support pam.

  • Is this made you cry, seeing it live on stage will have you sobbing as it is so so emotional you would not believe how much

  • This part makes me cry everytime.

  • oh no! it made me cry... i want to watch this musical live...

  • incredible!!!! i wanna see it live!!!

  • oooo...

    the end..

    made me cry.

  • Isn't this material a little too adult for hs production? Suicide, illegtimate kids, prostitution and strippers etc.

  • c'mon...

    it's high school.

they know all about that kind of stuff.

even then, i think they did a great job in making in "appropriate" as high school students and for their audience.

  • it was a little controvercal (sry 4 spelling issues) at the begging but we did tell everone that u shouldnt bring 10 yr olds to the show, I saw it in 7th grade when it was at high school.

  • Comment removed

  • Why don't they use The Sacred Bird anymore?

  • OMG. it made me cry like a little girl

  • makes me cry every time!

  • very well casted haha. kim is amazing.

  • Seems like a very adult theme for a high school production...? heh heh.

  • I was thinking the very same thing.

  • They picked a good kim that's all...

  • i thought the engineer was amazing.

  • that was amazing

    congratulations on a great show!

  • that violin or sumthing in the pit went soo out of tune wtf hahah but wow amazing!!

  • The guy who played Chris is for sure great here. He is believable and I can see has a lot of potential. I actaully cried (shame)!

  • i agree

  • Best high-school production of Miss Saigon I've ever seen!

  • this is a high school production? wow, I thought it was a professional one

  • im sorry but Vintage High school's production of Miss Saigon has been one of the best ive seen. although, this is also very good.

  • I love the part where he says please forgive me, that was never in any of the productions I have seen. It was original and added more character to him, he is obviously feeling guilty for not coming back and for moving on. With that one line you can feel all of the emotions raging in him and it adds more to the story.

  • That's exactly what I was going to say. Never have heard "please forgive me" before, but thought it was a wonderful touch. It actually surprised me so much it brought me to tears (but the end of Miss Saigon always makes me weepy)

  • wonderful production of miss saigon unbeleaveable cast i felt as if i where there

    at the operahouse great job!!!!!

  • But other than that little fact this is a wonderful production of Miss Saigon especially for the High School level. Great production, awsome cast (Broadway look out!), and great job to the tech crew.

  • Thanks!

  • Okay, I am extremly disappointed in this orchestra. On stage there is so much going on that is so wonderful and the stuff going on under just ruins it.Mainly what I hear are God awful strings(not in tune, screechy, slow fingering changes). The winds do pretty well

(especially with most of the solos in the clarinet flute and bassoon) but are still some balance issues and consistant wrong notes in the bari sax.

  • They are missing the first trumpet sound in a lot of the songs, then add on the fact tht whoever set up the recording equipment sucks at recording pits so that probably didn't help the sound either.

  • I'm Vietnamese. I love this play.

    You guys are the best.

  • Kim has got a Broadway future ahead of her

  • I just watched all 32 videos and I am really impressed. The actress that played Kim is brilliant and I think "Chris" and "The Engineer" are also very good. Congratulations JJ Pearce.

  • my school could never do this we don't have the physical room on our stage for the songs like "the fall of sagion" should I tell you why? Because we don't put enough spending into our theatre system in our school most of the money goes towards sports

  • Oh god that orchestra is just horrible. I hate using CDs for live performances of musicals, but in this case it would be totally necessary!!

  • I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused. If this is a high school production, how did you get a child that young for the production as Tam?

  • I thought of that too. But he just might have been one of the teacher's child, or a sibling of one of the performers.

  • They auditioned kids from an elemterary school nearby, and they found him. Its pretty typical from pearce when they need kids, they get them from brentfield and bowie elemeterary.

  • They might want to consider employing the same scheme when it comes to putting together their orchestra ;-)

  • wow...i get goosebumbs...im crying...this is just extremely amazing!!!

  • This Girl has a future in Broadway ahead of her.

    p.s.-Tam is CUTE!

  • How could there be a dry eye in the house after this truly sensational production.

  • very good production of a high school, I admit I wish my school was capable to do something that amazing but hey I live in an not so musical area..very good.

  • the violins sweak

  • yeah the orchestra sounds totally ameaturish,

but the acting/scenery is so good you'd think

    it was professional.

  • this is highschool?

  • yep

  • Great job! <3

  • wow!

    that was something!

    Amazing!!!!

    I have goosebumps

  • ahhh! i actualyy started crying. it's so sad. i don't mind the orchestra actually, i really like it. i really like the actors, they did an awesome job!

  • the orchestra really makes the whole performance worse.... but the one acting kim has a pretty good voice... I also think that it is pretty good for a high school production

  • yeah the orchestra pretty much sucks but the acting I think is pretty good for a high school production

  • mediocre acting/orchestra, but nice overall production.
