Despite its obviously lower price tag compared to the more luxurious New Yorker sedan, the E-Class was never a big seller in its two years of sale.
During production, Chrysler initially considered marketing this under the name "Grand LeBaron" due to the fact the E-platform was merely an elongated version of the K-platform, that which the LeBaron sat on.
The E-Class was replaced by the Plymouth Caravelle for 1985, but the more luxurious New Yorker (with the Landau vinyl roof) continued production and sale through early 1988, when an all-new version of that car (along with the Dodge Dynasty) appeared to replace it. The last E-body New Yorker sedans were all turbocharged.

I'd want one of these just so I could say I owned the car that Ricardo Montalban was promoting.

The dome lights in the car, are they fade-delay as it takes one minute for the lights to go off, or do they shut off when the door is shut?

Literally a stretch of the K-car - The superstretched version on the right is a surreal approach...
