I am planning my first cruise for next year and found this park as an excursion option. Seeing this video made me even more excited! It has been a dream of mine to hold and play with a monkey! Thanks for posting!!
@globalmikey I hope you have a great time! If you want to try duplicating this experience, hang back in the clearing where the monkeys hang out. When the other tourists are there, the monkeys are too excited. I left my group, tipped the handlers extra, and just sat down. Within minutes, I had several monkeys calmly checking me out. I stayed there with Ricardo for about 30 minutes. It was an utterly amazing experience.
isnt he name peter, cause I went ther too. The baby capuchino is named Peter, so cute & curious :). I am Honduran but live in tegucigalpa, if I could I would see that little monkey every day :)
They can be. Their looks have nothing to do with it.
Monkeys are very smart and very wild. Some hate captivity, just like you or I would. So they lash out. One large monkey at the park was on a leash up in a tree, and tourists were warned to stay away from him. He acted cute and sleepy to lure people in close, then he would attack. I saw him do this to one dumb tourist that wouldn't listen. It was scary.
Thanks for looking! If I recall, it was kinda coarse. most primate hair is. Very few animals are velvety (and the few that are are usually bred that way by people.) ^_^

Gross! They cannot be housebroken. Get a dog. Wait, is that Senator Henry Waxman? Does this poor kid know what he will look like in 20 years?
Capuchins - are they curious or just always seeking food?

I would visit every day, too. :-)
This was over a year ago. I'm sure Juanito is grown up by now and they have other babies.
