Hi I am interested in making this router but with atleast 3 or 4 USB EVDO/3G/4G modems which all to work simultanously for the purpose of network teaming/bandwidth bonding and load balancing.
The default baud rate for serial console output in Linux is 9600. Which can be changed in /etc/inittab, and the bootloader config files. These two files' settings, plus the Soekris comBIOS must match for consistent display.
I would guess it was just easier to leave as default, but the files on the image could be changed.
Another note: Faster isn't always better 38400 is the standard console speed, so you shouldn't go any higher or things get choppy again.
Excellent! You rock. :) I was surprised to see someone posting a how-to-build video, having caught this one by accident while googling for my name. Thank you for making it, and I'm happy to see you using a stompbox!
Thank you for posting the original "How to" that started it all. We are now using Pyramid Linux and have added most of the new PC Cards and USB broadband modems plus other fun stuff even though there are lots of commercial devices available. It's the journey...not the destination.
NOt good!!!!!!! but i like it

It's not economical to build these anymore. Verizon has a "mifi" that does what the stompbox did and it much smaller.

Why did you slow down the baud rate on the soekris rather than speed up the rate on hyperterm?
Teraterm is a better windows terminal emulator anyway imho.
