i own this exact same model r1 and they do 106mph in 1st gear or 220kph in 1st and top out at a restricted 186mph or 300 kph. the speed in the crash didnt look to great as the rider didnt enter the car and he didnt land to far away and in my oppinion wasnt doing in excess of 70mph. if the woman had looked before she turned right then the biker woudnt of hit her. bikers get blamed all the time. bike=speed its nonsense. rip.
If you're going to travel at 200kph+ on a public road, this is the risk you take. Regular civilian drivers just don't allow for that kind of speed. Think about it: 200kph is 55 metres a SECOND. I know if I had a 100m gap to cross I'd usually consider it more than safe to do so. Only thing is if the other vehicle is travelling at 200+ I've got about 1.5 seconds before impact. RIP.

You shouldn't do anything but wait for help, which is ironic seeing how help didn't show up. A buddy of mine was in an accident and the girl driving behind him took off his helmet which ended up paralyzing him because his vertabrae was cracked. Do not move the person unless you have to.
The thing is that you can't buy a 1.000cc+ bike and not take it up to 3rd or 4th gear..and that's 200kmh+ already.. If you own a super-sport bike 1000cc+ it's obvious you bought it for speed, hopefuly people buy it for the track, unfortunatly as it's seen, they race them on streets too. Even Baros Gibernau or Rossi would crash it at a certain point if they would ride like this in the open streets all the time.. As I said, God Bless , keep your eyes on the street and SLOW down.
