Typical piece of green propaganda. The clip shows old mate talking about recruitment trees, mmmm, are they retaining trees, oh my god those nasty little loggers may actually be thinking about the future. In the background there are numerous merchantable trees and to say they have taken out anything that is merchantable just makes you look a little silly. How can the public truly believe what green groups are saying when they produce rubbish like this?
30mts centred on the "..site of capture of a GTB ..".DP is standing in an operational zone on an unmapped drainage feature.
I agree..debris MUST be removed from the base of retained stems..to a dist of 5m.
There are definite rules as to how an EEC is identified in the field and requires significant knowledge and experience to establish them.Have you those skills?
H & R trees are recorded on GPS by the SFO..
"End of cycle logging" sets the starting point of a new vigorous forest.
Horror movie - thanks to those who are watching the situation and helping those of us in urban environments to understand how far these loggers are prepared to go in search of the almighty dollar.
I Hope the owner of this operation, has the book thrown at him, there is no excuse for this ...forestry is only partly to blame, the blame should really fall back on the owner of this harvesting company, ...makes me so disgusted to see this...
@dropdead1404 Australia does not sell parcels of logs like the Americans or Indonesians do. The buck stops with NSW Govt. The operator can only be prosecuted for serious breaches of the Harvesting Plan.
An end to all logging in state forests is just the first step in the struggle to save biodiversity and store carbon. An equitable arrangement for freehold landowners to help protect old growth forests and re-emerging forests on private property is the next step. Now's the time to pressure our elected officials to do the right thing. Letters to DECCW, the environment minister and state and local reps. Time to start typing!
@sharynoz ...but then you'll whinge and moan because the Grey-headed Flying Foxes moved in on the creekline at the bottom of your newly developed Rainforest..bah humbug!
@forkdriver500 .......... not me, I would welcome the Flying Foxes as I recognize the critical role these fascinating animals play in the health of our ecosystem.
This film is a brave step towards actually getting a positive result on such criminal malpractice. I am drafting a protest letter and suggest we all do.
Going, going, gone.... Hope the Federal Government intervenes before we start experiencing species extinction. Not to mention the loss in bio banking. This is throwing away the future of our forests for short term profit for a few. Really sad.

Typical forestry industry in NSW, trashing our forests again and again and again. Wake up people, time to make a stand, again and again and again.

This is absolutely disgusting, but I don't see how it's any different to how they log any other forest.
