So when you speak in tongues it is in a real language because people have to be able to understand it. So do you know what language you speak in? I am being completely sincere.

Speaking in tongues is a language that is unknown to the speaker (1Corinthians 14:2). It will be in a language of men or a language of angels (1Corinthians 13:1) If the speaker is speaking in a language of men, then it is possible that someone else who speaks that language will understand your tongue.

A friend said she could speak in tongues and "I was curious". I asked her to do it, she did, I recognized it as a language. I received this gift months later. I think the key was I "was curious". I've told others I have this gift and they are not "curious" and don't even ask to hear. I find that odd.
